"And where are you coming from by this time of the morning?" Quincy's voice sprang through the air the minute he spotted Asher who had just walked into their mansion. He was seated on the couch and judging from the litters and wraps that surrounded him, Asher could tell that he had also slept there as well. Quincy was the messiest amongst the three of them so he wasn't really surprised to see him decorated with the trash that was supposed to be discarded into the dumpster.

"You still haven't answered my question." He repeated but Asher walked past him on the couch, completely ignoring his question.

"Because I don't want to. I do whatever the hell I want." Asher stuffed his hands into his hoodie pockets and made his way into the kitchen. He was surprised to see the mess on the floor of the kitchen and he knew deep down, the person responsible for it. "What happened here?"

"Oh...one of you was mad last night and decided to take it out on the innocent dishes and render us homeless while the other one, snuck out of the house last night and is refusing to tell me where he went to. You all are going wild these days." Asher rolled his eyes at his brother's inquisitiveness and knowing Quincy, he would never let this slide.

"I'm an animal so what did you expect and besides, I was out last night because I had to take care of something important." Asher replied casually. His mind replayed the incident in Amery's room and how her mother had almost caught them. He couldn't help the smile that formed on his lips. The fact that they were on good terms made the visit and the risk he took a whole lot satisfying. If given the chance to, he would do it all over again.

He wouldn't give a second thought to be over her, around her and in her. The feeling that came with it was heavenly and divine.

"Does that something have to do with Amery?" Quincy asked knowingly and Asher froze instantly. His hands folded protectively on his chest as he leaned on the door frame.

"You went to see her last night didn't you?" He scoffed. "And to think that we all decided to lay low for a while."

"I never decided that." He responded sharply. "Amery is my mate and so I don't need permission to see her if I wanted to."

"We just got here." Quincy primped. His eyes staring directly at his brother. "We don't know the workings of this place and Damien had asked us to lay low and be careful. What if something bad had happened to you when you tried to meet up with her? We have already caused enough damage and seriously, I always thought that you were the responsible one."

"He only pretends to be." Levi's voice came from behind. Quincy stopped talking immediately and they both darted their eyes towards the direction of the sound. Levi was clad in nothing but his briefs as he walked past them to grab a bottle of water as per his usual routine.

"Asher is never responsible. He just believes that he is so that he can fool everyone." Levi took a swig of his water when he noticed that his words had struck a nerve on Asher who was fuming visibly.

"I never asked you Mr i-might-be-going-crazy-pretty-soon. You're the one to talk when you're worse than he is." Quincy shunned him.

"True." Levi conceded. "I might be worse but at least, I never fake it. Everyone around me knows how brutal and dangerous I am. I don't pretend to be what I'm not. I don't pretend to be a saint who hides behind his bitter motive to get a girl."

"What did you do to Amery yesterday?" Asher asked instead, suppressing his anger that seemed to have ignited a fire inside him.

"What an ungrateful bitch." Levi clicked his tongue. "What did she tell you? I can't believe that she had reported me to you when I had saved her life from those bullies yesterday."

He smiled through his teeth. "I actually wanted to kill her yesterday." He admitted. "I tried to kill her but she wouldn't die. Do you in that I even tried to slam her head against the wall in the ladies restroom." He took a few steps towards Asher so that they were eye level with each other. "And now that you know, what would you do about it? Beat me up or worse. Are you going to kill me because your woman had requested you too?"

Asher clenched his fists tightly and gently released them. "When I look at you, I actually want to believe that you are going to be a challenge for me but then I remember that you are nothing Levi. Just an empty shell walking without his animal."

Levi frowned at his brother's choice of words but it only encouraged Asher to go on. He knew just how sensitive Levi was to the subject of him loosing his wolf.

"I'll be glad to pick this up whenever and however you wanted to but I would only do that when you can face me like the man you are which I know is not possible." He tapped his shoulders lightly. "You're a human now Levi so when you try to talk to me, don't forget that you are nothing but a human shell walking around so do yourself a favor and pick up the broken glass would you?"

With that being said, Asher gave his brother one last smile before heading out of the kitchen. He bumped into Myra on his way there and they both exchanged glances briefly before he walked into his bedroom.

Inside, he immediately took off his clothes and stepped into the bathroom to have his bath. As soon as he finished, he changed into his outfit and made his way out to the living room where he met Quincy already dressed up, waiting for him. "You got a tattoo?" Asher's eyes widened in surprise.

"Figured that while you two tried to kill yourself, I'd make the most out of my stay here." He flashed his inked hands on Asher's face.

Levi chose that exact moment to step into the living room. His hands were tucked deep into his pockets. He glared at Asher briefly before walking away. Without saying a word to each other, they all made their way outside to where their driver was parked waiting for them. The drive to school was quiet. No one said a word and no one tried to come up with any form of discussion till they arrived.

The minute they were parked at their usual spot, the girls ran over to where they stood and tried to make their presence known. Quincy walked away with his clique of friends while Levi headed inside alone like he usually does. The lone wolf like they had fondly called him now.

Asher made his way straight to the classroom and he spotted Amery at her usual spot. They lock eyes and they both waved at each other. Levi and Quincy saw the exchange and although Levi tried not to act on his anger, Quincy was shocked to see them being familiar with each other again. What exactly happened that he didn't know about yet.

Asher walked past Amery's desk and placed a stick candy on her table. She smiled at the gesture and reached out to grab it but Quincy beat her to it. Just as Asher was about to retaliate, the teacher walked in and he had no other choice but to locate his seat almost immediately.

Class started in full swing and everyone tried to pay attention to what was actually being taught. Everyone except Quincy who was hell bent on figuring out exactly what had happened.

"You talk to my brother now?" He whispered but Amery ignored as though she didn't hear him.

"I have nothing to say to you Quincy so please, leave me alone." She whispered back. Eyes staring saucers at him.

The teacher rounded up his class and shut his notes before facing the class directly.

"For our next project. I'll pair you all up. You'll each get a project partner you'll have to work with on a subject and present it together. It's going to be a part of your continuous assessment." He went on and on explaining about it. Somehow, Amery hoped to get paired up with Asher or someone else. She would give anything to work on the project with someone she knew rather than a stranger or worse, Levi. The teacher called names while they all listened attentively.

"Natasha and Asher..." He went on and Asher threw Amery a side glance. He wasn't happy with the arrangements and anyone could tell.

"Aand lastly Quincy and Amery" He added.

"What?" Amery yelled standing up from her seat abruptly. She could envision working with anyone but definitely not Quincy.

"Is something wrong Miss Hunter?"

"Um sir, do you mind reshuffling this arrangement?" She asked staring at him.

"But why? is there something wrong?"

She looked at Quincy who seemed to be enjoying the moment. "Yes. everything is wrong. I don't want to get paired up with him." She pointed at Quincy who looked the least bothered about her outburst. "That's not a valid reason to switch partners miss Hunter and until you have one, Mister Stark is your project partner. Dismissed." He said with an air of finality before exiting the classroom.

Amery sat down slowly as she recounted her current predicament but Quincy chuckled and pushed himself closer to her before whispering.

"It'll be nice to work with you like old times, partner. My house or yours? What's it gonna be? Pick one and get back to me later, new partner." He teased with a raised brow.

Noting how frustrated she was, he made a peace sign before exiting the classroom.
