Claimed By My Three Alphas -
Chapter 84
AMERY
.
"You're certain that you don't want me to drive you back home?" Quincy asked and I shook my head no. I had woken up on Quincy's shoulders earlier and after putting the finishing touches to our project, it was finally time to leave. Quincy insisted to riding me back home but I had refused and somehow, it had turned into a full blown argument between us as he escorted me out to the gates for me to leave.
"There's no need to anyways. The bus station isn't far from here so I'll just take the bus instead." I turned him down but still, he doesn't look convinced. Last night had somehow, miraculously brought us closer to each other. I cannot believe that the Quincy standing in front of me was the same Quincy from before but all the same I like this new version of him more. He was more open about his feelings, he was more understanding, a tad annoying but a lot kinder and more comfortable to be around with. "Just let me take you home." He insisted. "You don't have to be so stubborn about everything. It's still the wee hours of the morning and I'm scared that something might happen to you."
"This is my turf remember?" I reminded him. "This is my realm. I know everything and anything that goes on around here. If anyone should be scared of something happening to the other, then it should be me and not the other way around." "Your realm doesn't scare me." He gave a cynical smile. "If anything, you people should be more scared of me because I am not a mere human."
"Show off." I rolled my brows at him and before we both knew it, we were standing at the gate.
"So this is goodbye?"
"No, this is a temporary goodbye till we see again at school. You can't get rid of me that easily." I punched his arm playfully.
"You could've just let me drive you home." He brought back the same topic that I thought we had already buried.
"I told my mother that I was going to a friend's house to do my school project and she assumes it's a girl because I didn't tell her the specific gender of the so called friend that I was going to see so if she should see you drop me off at home then she would know that I lied to her about where I went to and I can't take that risk I'm sorry."
"You lied to your mother?" He looked surprised. "Who are you and what have you done to our Amery?"
I jabbed at him and he dodged. "I just didn't want her panicking or getting worried about me and besides, I can't begin to explain about you three because what am I supposed to say?"
"I understand." He nodded. "I'm just surprised because the Amery I know doesn't attempt to lie so this is a first. Keep at it. You'd be a pro before you graduate high school."
I gritted my teeth at him. Here I was thinking he had changed. I guess I was wrong about this side of him that always seemed to mock me for the dumbest reasons.
"Do you think Asher would come back?" I asked suddenly and Quincy's shoulders slumped to the ground. He kinda looks defeated and I couldn't blame him though. Even I am surprised as well that he hasn't made his way back home yet.
"I sure hope so but until then, we'd try to keep a low profile and discreetly search for his whereabouts. I've notified Damien and the rest of the werewolf community here to help in the search. I just pray that something good comes out of this. I don't want to panic
but this is so unlike Asher and it's beginning to get me worried as well." He blurted out worriedly. Quincy had told me about how they ended up here and how they got everything due to the help of some certain sentinels who had broke the rules of their realm and had also taken refuge in the human world. No wonder they were able to live the life of luxury. I mean, everyone must know that they were the Alpha princes after all. What a big flex!
At first, I was shocked but then I figured that it was possible. I mean I never knew I was even one until I landed accidentally in their realm. Besides, everyone had their own skeletons in their specific closets. I was just shocked to find out about it. "And Levi?"
Quincy shrugged. "He'd probably join in on the search or not. I can't say because he always does the opposite of what I expect him to do."
I walk up to him and engulf him in a hug. I took it unawares but still, he didn't pull away. "Everything would be alright. I'm sure of it so don't worry okay?"
He pulled away and ruffled my hair. "I'm not worried little midget now get going."
I run my hands through my thick mass to straighten curls that Quincy had scattered successfully. "Alright I'm going. Sheesh." I stressed out. "Say hello to Levi for me and don't forget to come with your side of the project or I will haunt you for life. Peace." I did a peace sign with my fingers and stepped out of the gates. The guards rolled it shut and I made my way slowly to the bus station where I had dropped off yesterday.
I arrived just in time and took the bus back home. It was still early so I knew that of I was quick enough, I'd be able to finish up and make it back to school on time. The bus came to a halt at my station and I rushed down and ran all the way back home. I was surprised to see mom preparing breakfast when I arrived.
"You're back." She squealed in delight whilst setting the table alongside dad who helped her out with the other dishes. "How did the project go? Were you able to finish?"
"Yes and just in time as well." I pulled off my shoes and made my way inside the house.
"You knew just how risky it was to spend the night at a strangers house Amery and you still did so regardless." Dad scolded me but mom came to my rescue.
"She told me about it and I gave her permission to stay." She spoke up. "Wasn't it better that she slept over at somewhere safe rather than coming back home by that time of the night?"
Dad breathed out. "I suppose you're right but still, it's a bit dangerous. I'm her father so I have no other option but to get worried."
"I'm sorry." I apologized. "And I'll try my best to make sure that it doesn't happen again."
"It's okay honey. Don't beat yourself up about it. Go freshen up and come down for breakfast so that you can leave for school early."
I nodded and ran upstairs to my bedroom. I immediately pulled off my clothes and stepped into the bathroom to shower. When I was done, I rummaged through my things to find a suitable outfit. I finished off the look with a pair of white sneakers before heading back down for breakfast. "That was fast." Mom complimented when I took my seat and we all said grace before digging in.
"I have to be in school in time for the presentation otherwise my grades would tell on me." I dished out another round of servings for myself while dad focused on his papers.
"I want nothing less than straight distinctions otherwise your dream of going to college will be ruined and we definitely do not want that." He flipped through his papers and I conceded. I finished having breakfast and after pecking them on their cheeks, I bid them goodbye and ran out of the house.
I was in time for the bus and I couldn't have been more happier. I bid the time despite all the odds stacked against me. I arrived at school and the minute I walked past the gates, I noticed people whispering and muttering amongst themselves.
I turned around to see if Levi and Quincy had arrived but they haven't so why were mumbling.
I am about to climb up the stairs when someone bumped into me making my bag fall down in the process. I quickly went down to pick my bag.
"I'm sorry I didn't see you there." Came Natasha's rude remark. Without looking I could tell that she was the one. She's only one bent on making the rest of my school year miserable as if she hasn't done enough damage to me already. Rising up to my feet slowly, I faced her squarely.
I can't believe that the two of us had been friends once upon a time. I never really give a damn about her ever since I came back to school but for some reason, ever since the triplets started attending our school, she had taken some sort of personal vendetta against me which I couldn't understand.
"You have always been blind Natasha so I'm not surprised." I told her off with a not-so-friendly-smile. "I mean first, you pretend to be blind and made out with my boyfriend in front of the entire student body and now you're pretending to be blind and bumped into me on purpose. Don't you think you need glasses now?"
She smirked. "You're the one to talk. And no, I didn't make out with your boyfriend by accident. He decided that I was good enough for him. More than you ever will." She countered and her friends cheered her on.
"Same way Asher decided that I was good enough for him as well." I moved closer to her. "Word of advice, he doesn't like girls who swim in Botox and pretend to be Brit Barbies. That's not his style. I could've taught you a thing or two but you're too arrogant to learn anything."
"You're going to pay for crossing the line Stark."
"I can't wait. Anyways, see ya." I waved at her and brushed her shoulders intentionally and made my way towards my locker. I am about to insert my passcode when I am approached by the principal the president of the school. What exactly could've gone wrong
now?
