Claimed By The Rogue Alpha Chapter 36

==Matteo==

I sat at the balcony, cup in hand and sipped slowly. Relishing in the placating taste of the green tea. The day was bright. Thank heavens. I was beginning to get tired with all the rain, moodiness, gloom and wind. I couldn't wait for the summer, to be honest. However, I did know that that was an issue on its own. Soon, everyone was going to complain about the heat.

I downed my tea and settled for some croissants. Yes, I was in the mood for some treat. Yes, I was cheerful. Last week was a scare. With all the business palaver going on, I was totally upset. But good riddance, everything was fixed now. Good gracious riddance. With everything coming back together, I decided to celebrate. And what better way to do that than to get a bottle of my favourite: Moet et Chanson, some grapes and a hooker. Really, yesterday night was wild. As for the bimbo...oh yes, she was just that. A dumb bimbo with nothing to offer, but s*x. Well, it wasn't as if hookers got anything upstairs...or women in general. But man, was the s*x good. F.U.C.K. Phew! However, she kind of spoiled my mood a little. I hated it when they groaned. Like, f**k, that was so distracting. Anyway, I couldn't deny I enjoyed the f**k. Was even tempted to book her for today, but didn't. That wasn't my policy, although with the blondie of sometime ago, I almost went back on my policy.

I went for another curl of croissant as I'd finished the first. Olivia... She'd witnessed me having s*x with the hooker. Now, I didn't know why, but a part of me had wanted to stop. To turn to her as she was splayed on the crawlspace and stare... But I hadn't done that. Because it was a stupid thing to do. F**k the hormones.

Instantly, I groaned. Had I just admitted to being led by hormones? Ha, never. I wouldn't give Olivia that? Of course, she was plain. At 21 she still looked prepubescent. Delicate. I didn't do delicate, and I wasn't planning on starting now either. "Sir."

I looked up to find my butler.

"I've got something I believe you should see."

There was a tablet on his palm. My heart skipped. Hoped it didn't have anything to do with the company.

I stretched my palm and he placed the device. A particular word....or group of words captured my eyes, as it was written in bold.

I didn't blink at all. The rest of the article read as:

BODY FOUND ON THE FRIDGETON-BROOKEHURT BORDER. Even more...f****d up was the fact that the lead police officer was his childhood friend. Well, f**k.

What actually held me by the throat was:

Just last week, the body if a man know known as Pete Haynes was found lodged in a chimney. Police has advised everyone to remain indoors as a security precaution.

I couldn't begun to process the information.

"The police found his body some time last month," my butler said.

My ears were ringing. Emotions spiralling. Pete, dead? I felt a pain, a jab in my chest. I couldn't explain.

"Where's...Olivia?"

"In her room, most probably, sir."

I gritted my teeth. Pete's dead. How? Why? I did nothing but stare at the article, as if it was going to give me answers.
