Lacey's P.O. V.

"Logan is family to us, he's been in our lives ever since he was a newborn, he's my son's best friend and my husband and I are his godparents, so no, this has got absolutely nothing to do with Logan or his marriage to our daughter"

My mom said honestly and with some anger in her tone and I sighed with relief.

"Ok.. where would you like to start with this?"

"I guess the beginning"

My dad said as he looked at my mom who smiled at him.

"So, what happened?"

The reporter asks Dylan who lets out a breath before explaining what happened and how his feelings eventually changed.

"A few months after Lacey and I got engaged, I started noticing a change in me and my feelings for her, I still loved her immensely but it wasn't... I wasn't feeling the same love that I had felt for her during our entire relationship" "What kind of love were you feeling for her?"

The reporter asks a tearful Dylan who looks guilty.

"I loved her like a sister"

The reporter asks Dylan whose answer left me feeling absolutely shocked and angry.

Dylan looks towards Luca who gave him a comforting smile.

"It was during a party my parents-in-law were throwing for Lacey's birthday, I needed to go and see Luca about a gift I had gotten Lacey which he was helping me with but when I got to his room, I walked in on Luca who had just gotten out of the shower and I was lost in how attracted to him I was, after that things got... intimate if you know what I mean"

"Intimate how? you guys kissed?"

"Amongst other things"

Luca chimed in and I baulked.

I think I'm gonna be sick.

"After that night, I found myself becoming more attracted to Luca than his sister, I wanted to be around him more and he felt the same way about me, that's how our affair started and how we fell in love"

The reporter asks and both Dylan and Luca's eyes squeeze shut.

"Yeah... "Let's jump to the night of your engagement, you said that Lacey found out about your affair that night, how did that happen?"

The reporter asks sounding very shocked and with some sympathy in his tone but it wasn't for the Brokeback Mountain twins over there, it was for me.

"Yeah, she did.../ had snuck away to have a few minutes alone with Luca and we ended up having s*x in Lacey and Is suite... Lacey must've come looking for me because she walked in and instantly caught us in the act"

"And what happened after that?"

"She ran out"

Dylan said with a sigh.

"Dylan and I went to look for her but she was nowhere to be found, we called anyone who she may have ran to but we couldn't find her"

Luca says and I hate to say this but he actually sounded like he was feeling pained and guilty about what happened.

"The next day my daughter came home still dressed in her clothes from the night before and she was looking worse for wear... we didn't know it at the time but she had spent the night with her now husband"

"You mean she had a one-night stand with Logan Black?"

Oh my god, this is so embarrassing.

I groaned as my dad looked at the reporter angrily.

"I'm trying to be as respectful as I possibly can to my daughter because she deserves nothing less, she's innocent in all of this but unfortunately, I can't tell you the rest of the story without mentioning this part because you'd wanna know the reason why I did what i did to her and you wouldn't understand if I didn't or as the media loves to do, you'd make up your own reasons for why I did what I did"

"And what did you do?"

"No dad don't do it, not on live television, please, it's not worth it"

I said with my wide eyes fixed firmly on the TV as I hoped and prayed that my dad didn't confess on national f*****g television to one of the top four sins a parent can commit against their child.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, the four biggest sins a parent can commit against their child are molestation, murder, neglect and abuse, at least in my opinion they are.

"My wife and I raised all of our children to be respectful of others but more importantly to be respectful of themselves, we didn't want any of our kids to run around acting or being promiscuous, what I'm trying to say is we've always promoted chastity with our children, no s*x before marriage and my daughter broke that rule"

My dad stopped and looked down at his lap.

I hoped he had changed his mind and wouldn't confess to the whole fitig country that he'd hit me but unfortunately, he didn't.

"At the time, I stupidly cared more about my reputation and the reputation of my family and our businesses over caring for my one and only baby girl and her happiness, she told me that she didn't want to continue with her marriage to Dylan and at this point, we didn't know why and I just assumed it was because shed cheated on him which she didn't but you know what I mean... anyway, we got into an argument and I erm...I did something no man should ever do"

"Don't do it, dad, please, don't do it"

"I hit her"

"Dad, why?"

I say barely above a whisper as tears fill my eyes.

-Why would he do this?.

"I hit my daughter, I hit her because she went against me and she stood up for herself"

My dad quickly wiped his tears away before continuing.

"I wanted the marriage between Dylan and Lacey to continue but before any concrete plans could be made, Lacey ran away... not long after that, we discovered the truth about Dylan and Luca's sexualities and their secret relationship that they had carried on behind my daughter's back"

My dad growled

"Lacey was innocent, she never cheated on Dylan, he cheated on her, she never betrayed her family, we did by ignoring what she wanted and for believing that she was the guilty party when she wasn't, Dylan and Luca are the guilty ones, not her"

"My mom's right...Dylan and I are in the wrong, we never intended to hurt Lacey... we never wanted to hurt her but we did... she's my sister, my princess, she's been my best friend ever since we were little and I never wanted to hurt her but it happened and I can't change that"

Luca whimpered and sobbed and my heart broke a little for him.

"What are you hoping will come from you doing this today?"

The reporter asks a question which I'd also love to know the answer to, I just never expected to get as emotional as I eventually did from their answer.

"We're hoping all of the rumours and lies will be cleared up and everyone will now know that my Lacey was a victim and she ran away because she had been betrayed by the people who were supposed to love and protect her the. most, Dylan was her fiance and he cheated on her, Luca was her big brother and he betrayed her by having an affair with his sister's fiancee, I did a despicable thing by hurting my princess and putting the Carpenter reputation over her...as for my wife and my two sons Justin and Liam... they're only guilty of not standing up for Lacey or for protecting her"

My dad says with so much emotion in his tone.

A lone tear fell down my face at his words but I didn't know why or what I was crying for.
