The day has almost ended and I was beyond tired.

I wasn’t allowed to even clean the sweat on my forehead as everyone kept screaming orders.

They was intentionally giving me the work of their share.

As a part of this stupid punishment.

And I couldn’t say no, in the fear of another punishment.

It was evening now and my legs were literally wobbling and my stomach protesting.

The acid was building up and I can feel a sharp pain in the corner of my stomach. Ignoring it, I sigh.

Picking up the rose petals basket.To only hear snickering behind me.

“Aww is the slu* preparing the room for the king and Queen’s consummation? So sad. “

“Being used and throw out like garbage.”

I look back to see Bailey, and take a deep breath. Ignore her Thora. She is plain stupid and is trying to get on your nerves.

“Look at her face girls. I really pity her mate. To be mated to a whor* like her…a used and ugly girl .”

I clench my fists, not retorting. Walking away from them, ignoring her words.

When somewhere deep, her words did affected me.

Defiled

That’s what they all called me earlier. I was used to it now. It’s just that it’s been long since I last heard someone call me a whor*

Landon would call me that everyday.

And I seemed to have forgotten how it felt.

Until now

Shaking my head and ignoring the thoughts, I knock at the door. Hoping for the room to be vacant

To only hear his husky voice instead.

“Come in”

I gulp stepping in ,to only feel his hardened stare at me. His emotionlessly eyes shifting from the basket in my hands to my eyes.

“Sir…I was…I am here to decorate…the room for “

“For…..your special night…. tomorrow.”

He doesn’t say anything and I shift the weight from my one leg to another.

Keeping my eyes fixed at the floor.

“You may”

He barely says, taking away his stare from my body. Making me relieved.

Getting settled on a sofa, he places one leg on the other.

Picking up some papers, and getting busy in them.

Looking around,I begin the decorations. Lining the candles in the corners and decorating the place with roses.

It took me around half an hour and the place was almost done

Except the bed.

I stare at the bed, imagining the night my mate will have with his new mate tomorrow and I feel a burning ache in my heart.

My vision turning hazy as I stop my tears.

Picking up the basket with Rose petals, I gather the petals and try to make a heart in the centre of the bed with them. Sitting in the corner of the bed, vary of him scolding me.

But he was ignorant, looking too engrossed in his work.

To notice my baseless fears.

Adjusting the corners,again the thought of them mating hits me and a tear slides down my cheek to wet the heart of rose petals.

Cleaning it with my shoulder sleeve, I get up

Desperate to leave.

My voice coming out hoarse and low.

“I am done Sir. I will leave now “

I say turning my back on him. I had just taken few steps away when his voice stops me.

“Wait.”

I clench my fists. This can’t be good. He will ask me about Jason and he will again misunderstand me.

“Your work is still incomplete.”

I turn around, looking at him in confusion. A pair of specks on his greek nose, were making him look more intellectual and handsome.

And I immediately lower my eyes.

“What’s left Sir?”

He adjust his face on his palm, looking at me in amazement.

“Light these candles.”

“But…but they are for tomorrow Sir?”

His eyes narrow. Not liking me asking questions from him.

“You keep forgetting your rules. Don’t you? “

“I said don’t open your useless mouth unless I ask you to.”

I merely nod, doing as he said. Lightning the candles, the room almost looked like a honeymoon suite now.

“Anything else Sir?”

He gets up instead. Removing his specs and keeping down the papers on the table.

I step back almost instantly, afraid of what he was intending.

When he moves in the other direction, making me take a calm breath.

He must be testing for tomorrow. After all it has to be perfect for his future Queen tomorrow.

No mistakes are to be made.

My thoughts are interrupted when I see the lights around me getting switched off to bring in the light from the candles.

My eyes widen ,when I see him pressing the switch to only approach me after it.

“Aren’t you a shameless girl, little mate?”

He asks, his tone almost mocking.

“I am…not.”

He raises his eyebrows, stepping even closer.

“Oh really?”

I nod ,to only feel the bed hit my knees behind. But he refused to stop, stepping closer.

“What do I call a girl who comes to decorate his own mate’s room with roses and scents.”

“For him to fuc* another women”

I move my head in a no, lifting my hand stopping him. To only have his chest hit my palm.

“I ..no…they ordered me to. I… wasn’t given a choice.”

“Who said you will be given now?”

He says, moving his arm around my waist and pulling my frame to his. My breathing hitch as I stare at him.

His other hand plays with my fringe as he moves it near his nose, taking a whiff.

“Umm you are trying to seduce me coming here. Aren’t you?”

“Wearing this short dress, taking hidden glances at me every second, making excuses to get the duty to decorate this room to come close to me?”

“Please…I swear…I did-“

“Shh no more talking. I hate your quivering voice.”

I gulp as he places back my hair, moving closer to make his breath hit my collar bone.

“Please-“

I manage to say, to only have him grip my hair . Coiling it around his hand , to make my neck more clearly visible to him.

“Shh I said shut your trap.”

He says, moving his thumb up to trace the corner of my lips. His eyes focussed at the shape of my lips.

And I bite it out of nervousness. Making him smirk.

“And you say you weren’t trying to seduce me”

My eyes widen. No…it was just on instinct. I didn’t intent to.

“No…I….”

“Let me make your wish come true tonight.”

He whispers in my ear, making a shudder run down my spine.

“Let me fuc” you tonight.”

And that’s when he pushes me back, to make me fall back on the bed. The heart of rose petals getting crushed under my weight.

And I immediately try to get up, afraid of ruining it

When instead I am pinned down on the bed.

His hands locking my wrists above my head.

“The heart…. it’s ruined…”

I say slowly, refering to the rose petals one getting crushed under my weight. When he looks at me sadly, looking into my eyes.

“It was already ruined when you betrayed Thora”

And that’s when I see the vulnerability in his eyes, the hurt. The pains…the heartbreak that I have given him.

And I break along with him.

“I …am so…rr..y”

Was all I could say , for not saving myself for him. For night fighting harder for saving me from those monsters .

For getting a weaknling as me ,to be his mate.

I was sorry, for not being deserving and not being worthy of being the mate of a powerful man such as himself.

I lower my eyes, ashamed to meet his stare.

When he lowly growls at me.

Not happy with me meeting his eyes.

But how can I? He will only see my betrayal…he can never see my love. He is blinded by hate…I am not upto his expectations.

“I have severed the hands that dared to touch what belongs to me.”

He says and I look at him in shock…no…no…did he really? Did he really killed Landon? Was this the reason of his absence?

“Landon….you…”

“Shh do not take another man’s name in front of me. Or I swear I will rip their throats and burn their pack like I destroyed that bastard’s.”

I gulp. Feeling his aura changing. It was getting darker, he was burning in rage and Jealousy.

Moving his face in the crook of my neck, he moves his hands. Lifting the hem of my shirt and sliding in his fingers.

“I have punished him”

“And now”

Lifting himself up, he stares down at me before whispering.

“It’s your turn.”

And that’s when he crashes his lips on me. Making my eyes to widen and a warm feeling to engulf me entirely.
