Death Wolf Chapter 21

It was almost afternoon when she gained consciousness. Removing her bounds and going towards her room.

As soon as the cold water hits her wounds on her wrists, she flinches. Biting her l*p.

Staring in the mirror she stares at the marks on her body with dead eyes.

Her abdomen was covered in bruises and so were her inner thighs, her neck having the biggest one.

The place where his mark was, now was discolored in hues of red and blue.

Lowering her gaze, she lifts up her head. The cold shower water, soothing her pain.

Getting dressed in a full sleeve shirt and joggers, she walks down the halls.

Proceeding towards the kitchen.

To only see everyone going still on looking at her .

She lowers her eyes immediately, walking towards her counter.

“Damn! See the bruises on her neck!”

“I bet she had a rough night”

“What a slu*”

“Head mistress is not going to leave her.”

She was halfway in cutting the vegetables, when Sally enters barking orders.

Her eyes,stop at Thora and she roars in anger. Marching towards her.

“What are you doing here girl? Get out!”

“Ma’am…I am sorry”

Thora whispers in her hoarse voice, her words a stuttering mess.

“You disappear from the estate without applying for leave. Going absent on such an important occassion. Do you think you own this place where you can come and go whenever you wish to!”

Thora moves her head in a no. Not meeting her stare.

“You are fired Thora. Pack your bags and leave right now!”

“Ma’am please! I am sorry! I was not well…I…”

Sally’s eyes move towards her neck. Her anger flaring.

“Not well huh? What’s there on your neck?”

“Ma’am I….”

Before she knows, Sally pulls on her shirt, to bring the bruises to display.

“Remove your shirt”

Thora tightens her grip on the shirt material. Nearly pleading.

“Please…”

“I said remove it! Now! Or I will ask others to remove it for you!”

Thora unbuttons her shirt and as soon as it drops down her shoulders. Gasps are heard.

The bruises on her skin, making them question her morals.

“So this what kept you pre occupied?”

Thora moves her head in no, nearly pleading Sally.

“No! I swear! These…these are not from-“

“Shut up!”

“Girls! Help this girl pack! She is leaving right now!”

Thora blocks Sally’s way. Nearly pleading her. Falling down on her feet.

“Please…I have no where to go. I swear I didn’t slept with anyone.”

Sally looks down at the girl pleading. Holding her hair, she pulls on her scalp, seething.

“I was not going to inform the Alpha and get you punished. But it looks like you won’t leave without it.”

“Ahhh please…noo”

Pulling her up from her hair,Sally pulls Thora. Dragging her down the halls.

The pack members stare, murmuring. To not interfere.

While Thora’s heart drops when they stand outside Volkan’s office. Tears stinging her eyes, thinking what he will think of her.

She thrashes in Sally’s grip. To only make it hurt more.

“Please….I beg… please don’t do this….”

Sally ignores, looking down at her in disgust and knocking on the door.

When they hear his voice from inside, making her senses go numb.

“Enter.”

Dragging her, Sally pulls Thora and nearly throws her on the carpet.

Making her knees to scrap on it.

Volkan looks up from his papers, to see the head maid standing there, fuming.

“What’s the matter Sally?”

He asks continuing with his work looking back at the papers, not happy with the intrusion.

“Apologies for disturbing you Alpha. But this maid here refuses to leave.”

“That’s a petty matter Sally. You know I don’t attend to them.”

Sally bows before continuing.

“I know my King.”

” But this girl here broke the protocols. She slept with a pack member while ignoring her duty.”

There is silence for few minutes, before Volkan sighs. Running his hand through his hair and looking up.

Unable to see the girl , kneeling on the carpet.

“Then prepare for the whipping. There can’t be any exceptions.”

Thora looks up in disbelief. Seeing him unaware of her presence…he can’t….how can he?

“I didn’t…. please!”

She whispers desperately and that’s when Volkan’s eyes look down to stare at her.

His eyes widening, unable to believe this.

How …why….why wasn’t he able to sniff her?

Confusion covering his features as he sees her state.

With shirt wrongly buttoned…a big bruise veiled below the shirts neck.

He clenches his fist, narrowing his eyes at her.

“Leave!”

He says lowly and Sally pulls Thora’s hair, trying to drag her out. When he nearly shouts at her.

“Not her! You leave dammit!”

Sally flinched in shock. Unable to understand his sudden change in temperament.

Her hands leaving Thora’s hair, to stop back from her.

“Sir but the girl-“

Volkan’s cold eyes look up at the head maid, and she gulps lowering her head and bowing.

“I am soory. I will take my leave.”

Sally leaves, closing the door. While Thora clenches her fists, placed in her lap.

Her heart thumping and body sweating.

She sees Volkan approaching her, his polished shoes coming in her eye vision on the carpet.

“Stand up”

He says and she does. Holding the floor, balancing herself.

His stare on her deadly, making terror to fill her insides.

“Alpha I-“

She didn’t get to complete, when he pulls on the front of her shirt, making the buttons to be uprooted and drop on the floor.

Her widened eyes met his to see him staring at the bruise on her neck.

His eyes narrowing and a nerve tricking in his forehead.

He doesn’t stop there, uprooting the other buttons, he looks down at her abdomen.

She holds his wrist, trying to stop him when he holds her wrist instead.

Making her flinch.

Nearly pulling the shirt from her body, he drops it on the floor.

And she stands there, feeling exposed and vulnerable.

The bruises..all visible. The wounds on her wrist, bleeding again.

He just stares, unless he speaks lowly in anger redefined.

“You didn’t take the medicines I sent you?”

The struggles of last night, made her close her eyes. He was the reason… because if his rejection she suffered like this.

What was she afraid of now?

It’s not like he will kill her more than he already has.

“No.”

She speaks, gaining courage to meet his eyes. The devil’s dancing in her innocent orbs, making Volkan to step closer to her.

“Why?”

And her answer was what made his heart to beat faster for a second.

“I love the pain.”

“It’s what keeps me alive.”

He steps more closer. Seeing red.

“Aren’t you too audacious little girl. Your body is shivering, your wolf is not healing, your scent is almost non existing.”

“And instead of taking my favor and keeping the pathetic excuse of a life you have , you stand here saying you love the pain?”

She hmms , shrugging her shoulders.

“It’s the truth. Don’t bother to do me any more favours Alpha. You have already done enough.”

That’s it, he turns her around. Pinning her down on the table. Her eyes, refusing to lower down in submission.

“Accept the rejection girl. Or I will make you do it.”

She scoffs,her lifeless eyes looking at him.

“I won’t. I will like to see you try.”

They stare at each other, when suddenly, he slams his fist on the table next to her head.

A cracking voice is heard , but she doesn’t shudder.

Laying still like dead.

His voice coming out helpless.

“Why are you doing it Thora? Why? Please set us both free from this when it was never meant to be.”

She just stares and he thought she will agree, when she surprises him instead.

“Why do you care Volkan. You have already rejected me by mating with your female.”

“….you are free now”

“I am no longer your destined.”

She slightly pushes him back surprising him, picking up her tattered shirt and covering herself with it.

To only stop at the threshold hearing his voice and look back at him over her shoulder.

“Think again Thora, if this continues you will die.”

He says almost pleading with soft eyes.

Her answer, not what he expected. Leaving him flabbergasted.

“I already died last night my King.”

“You shouldn’t bother yourself with lowlives like me from now on.”

And that’s when she leaves, banging the door shut behind her, making him feel the taste of his own rejection for the first time.
