Removing the damp cloth from her mouth, he continues to stare at her not bothered by the screams behind him.

His eyes taking her all.

That bruises along her wrist, from the chains that tied her.

Showing her countless hours of struggles to set free , to the extent of hurting herself.

Those beautiful grey eyes, red with tears. That have dried and cried again,taking new paths on her cheeks each time.

With no one to clean them or stop them.

Those finger prints on her pale cheek. Showing the way someone dared to touch her. Tainting her delicate skin in shade of b***d.

That only deserved to be kissed and caressed.

Those lips he has kissed and worshipped, bruised dried and pale. With a cut in the corner.

Making b***d drops to fall down her chin.

Ruining her, tainting her.

His dark eyes were going to trail lower when a rough tired courses voice tried to stop him.

Almost pleading him.

” Pl…ease don’t”

She says. Moving her head to a side and closing her eyes.Asking him to not look lower.

Ashamed of her state.

When he showed her there was nothing she should be ashamed of.

The wolves behind suddenly start clawing their eyes. Screaming for mercy. And Alexandra feels her heart drop as she sees b***d coming from their eyes.

He was turning them blind.

For seeing what only belonged to him.

His pitch black eyes fixed at her teary ones, giving his reply to her pleading.

And she surrenders. Closing her tired eyes. Letting him. Feeling safe of his presence.

Knowing with him here, no one can dare to touch her let alone hurt her.

Except for him.

His gaze goes lower to her naked self and he remembers each and every cut on her neck and arm.

Every single one.

And next the wolves start clawing their own chest. Tearing their own flesh. Making b***d to flow out of their cuts and colour the floor of the dungeon.

Red.

” Than….eaous we…are with you.. please..merc..y”

One begged. Thinking he may stop. After knowing they were bloodhounds. But Thaneos instead clenches his fist more.

Making the boys scream to intensify.

His shrill cry distinguishable from others, and next they know. His limbs get twisted in different angles.

” Pl…ease…no… please”

But no mercy was shown. Till those screams turn b***d curling. To be only followed by silence .

His body lays on the ground. Trembling with shocks and then nothing.

He was dead.

Making other’s to look at him in fear. If only they knew that Thaneos had no sides.

He was not with or against anyone.

The girl in front of him, his everything.

And he could do anything for her.

Killing his own kind, nothing for him.

Alexandria was too lost. Too numb. Her senses distorted and body not feeling like her own.

As another heat hits her. Making sweat to run down her forehead. And her to cry for him desperately.

” Than…”

She says breathing heavily. Her face morphed in pain as she clenches her thighs together, feeling a very strong pain hit her.

And Than’s eyes soften. Opening his fist to let go of the dying wolf.

Seeing she needed him more.

Removing his overcoat he wraps it around her and next removes the chains from her wrist, making her body to slump on his.

Before her limp body could fall, he gathers her in his arms.

Making her face to be pressed to his chest, holding her trembling body in his grip.

Her entire front to touch his. And she is finally able to breathe steadily.

Her body calming under his touch.

” Shh I am here little dove. No one will hurt you”

He speaks softly. Tightly wrapping his arms around her frail trembling body.Making her insides feel calm suddenly.

The pain subduing and the sparks erupting like magic.

Soothing her heat.

They continue to stay there. When suddenly Alexandria pulls back. Looking up at him with fearful eyes.

” Than….Elora…s-he…sh-e…”

” Shhh calm down my little dove. I know”

Thaneos tries soothing her, holding her face in his palms ,but she moves her head in a no. Looking at him with tear filled anxious eyes.

Her fingers tightly clenching his shirts shoulder for support.

” No ..Than…you don’t know …she…will hurt him…. please….”

” Alexand-“

“You don’t understand! She will hurt Silas! Please! She will kill him! We…we need to hurry… please..we have to save him!”

She literally screams at him to only beg till the end. Countless tears streaming down.

And Than goes still.

His hands holding her face in his palms dropping to settle beside him.

Silas.

Again it’s Silas

He should have known.

Silas. Silas. Silas.

Only he mattered for his little Dove. He himself never did.

She was near her own death bed, yet she only cares about his pathetic existence. About that bast*rds life.

When it was because of him that she got in this condition.

When he failed to save her and protect her.

His thoughts are interrupted. When he feels those sparks on his face, to see her holding his face in his palms.

Her hypnotic grey eyes looking at him with hope.

Her cracked dry lips, trembling as she begged for his life.

” Please Than…you have to save him…I can’t see..him…die…pl…ease…or I will die with h-!”

” Shhhh”

He silences her. Placing his palm on her lips.

Just staring.

She was crying for him. Desperate. Vulnerable. Stubborn. Determined.

All for him.

Was he wrong?

To think she will start loving him ,when she made it clear Silas was everything for her?

Is her happiness with him?

Was he being selfish to keep her trapped in her cage with him, when she was born to fly?

He questions his purpose.

Her happiness. He was doing all this for it .It should be always above his.

Her love should win ,even if his love for her had to loose for it.

Love is selfless, not Selfish Thaneos.

It is about giving them everything ,

Not taking everything from them in name of love.

He remembers Selene’s words and he closes his eyes.

” Pl- ease”

Alexandria says one last time. Seeing his closed eyes. Those dark clouds still surrounding.

But everything seemed to have gone still.

She can’t waste time. Anything can happen.

She has to warn Silas. She has to save him.

Seeing him standing still. Not doing anything to help her. She moves back from him. Missing those sparks.

” Fine. If…if you won’t. I will. “

Her body staggers back as soon as she moves back from him. Loosing his support.

To only hold the wall behind.

With one last look at his stoic face, she turns around to look at the door.

Determined to reach her.

She takes faltering steps. But manages. Her legs shaking but will determined.

I am coming Silas. Hold on.

With aching body and numb mind. She takes another step, reaching almost in the centre of the dungeon.

Her vision going a bit blurry, but she shakes the dizziness.

Looking over her shoulder. To find him still there where she left him. Eyes still closed and fists clenched.

He wouldn’t help. And why would he?

He would be happy instead.

That Silas will die.

Turning back in front. She takes another step. When each step away from him , made the hear to hit worse.

And then it happened.

She was almost near the threshold, when a sharp excruciating pain erupts in her abdominal extending down to her legs.

And she screams. Her legs loosing their strength.

Along with a sharp numbing pain making her see dark spots.

” Ahhhh it hurts……aha ahhhhhh”

She falls down. Her body falling down with a thud. And it seemed to wake Thaneos up from his world of oblivion.

” Alexandria!!!”

He rushes to her immediately. Placing her head in her lap. Seeing b***d flowing from her head.

Fear entering his heart like anything.

” Sh*t! It’s fine. Breathe my little dove. Please breathe!”

He says, assessing her injury. To find it from earlier. The fall making it open up.

His hands trembling as he tries to heel her, to only have her hold his wrist stopping him.

Her eyes heavy and closing on him. As she looks at him from under her wet eyelashes.

” No ..Than…you w-ill need it..for the war….”

” Alexandria! Don’t be stupid! I need to-“

” No ! Please Than. I wi-ll be fine”

She was loosing too much b***d. His white shirt turning red. And he never felt a fear like this before.

Moving up her thin fingers to slide into his large hands, she interlock them . To tightly presses it. Stopping him.

” Promise me Than… please…”

” Yo-u said yoh c-an do anyt-ing for me”

“sa-ve him”

His heart was thudding. Seeing her like that. Still wishing for Silas’s safety. And that’s when he had decided.

Nodding, he squeezes back her hand. Pulling up their joined hands to k**s her knuckles.

” I promise my little dove”

And that’s when he sees those creases on her forehead disappearing. A lone tear falling down her eyes to land on his lap.

As she genuinely smiles at him for the first time in his life.

” Th-ank y-ou”

And it seemed that was all she needed. Because the very next second her breathing became too rugged and she closes her eyes.

Surrendering to darkness.

” Little dove?”

He shakes her , trying to wake her up. Holding her shoulders to see her neck fall back. Limp.

Unconscious.

And Than couldn’t help. Pull her closer to his chest, cradle her in his arms.

And hug her in his warm embrace.

Kissing her forehead.
