Desert Encounter
Chapter 2

Sheikh Emir al Khali was a powerful man and ruthless with his enemies. His imposing build and advantageous physique were matched only by his icy aura.

He was scary to see.

His stormy, piercing gray gaze was like an angry sky, as fascinating as the charisma he could exude.

His face always closed, he never smiled, no emotion was visible. No one could doubt the authority he emanated, we only had one desire, to submit.

He was the master of the place and his presence was well established.

A few years earlier, his uncle’s betrayal had had catastrophic repercussions within royalty and a bitter aftertaste for him and his people.

12 years earlier, the sheikh had lost his parents in a coup attempt aimed at eliminating all members of the royal family.

Only 17 years old at the time, he became the youngest ruler to the throne of the kingdom of Rub’al Khali that his lands had ever hosted.

Despite his demanding and manipulative character, Emir al Khali was a good man, a ruler loved by his people for whom he was ready to die.

《- So my dear friend, I come to the news.

It was Salif, his faithful right-hand man and long-time friend, who had just entered the throne room.

Sitting nonchalantly on his throne, a hand on his cheek, Emir watched his friend walk towards him with his usual charisma.

– I called you because I have important news to tell you, in a few days I am leaving for a mission.

– and where are you going?

– in the north, I recently learned that the crossing becomes more and more difficult

The sheikh got up from his throne and descended the steps which separated him from his friend

– and I suppose that this is not trivial? His friend asked him

– exactly. a group of rebels, sponsored by my uncle, raged during the crossing of the desert by robbing and attacking our tourists. I heard that there were some deaths and I cannot continue to tolerate such action on my land. In addition, it is very bad for tourism and the image of the country.

– and what do you plan to do?

– soon there will be a new expedition according to my sources, to show tourists our little corner of paradise and I will be there.

– What! But Emir the inhabitants will recognize you

– no, not if I hide behind my scarf (1). He said determined

– OK then I’ll come with you

– out of the question! That’s why I brought you here today. The sheikh circled around his faithful friend before stopping in front of him and towering over him with all his stature.

I want you to stay here and investigate for me

– what do you mean, I don’t understand you. Salif asked suspiciously

– I’m afraid my dear Salif that we have a traitor among us. Of course I don’t have any proof yet. The sheikh began to circle around his friend again. But I’m counting on you to find out by the time I get back.

– you can count on me, and on my loyalty to the crown.

– GOOD. 》

The two friends exchanged a very manly handshake.

Before the exhausted sheikh decided to go to his harem to relax with one of his concubines.

The days to come were likely to be rough.

And he swore to himself that he would have to do everything to stop his uncle’s murderous thirst.
