Desert Encounter -
Chapter 53
As her mother had said, Naomi found herself a week later with a lump in her stomach in front of the doors of the al Khali palace accompanied by the latter.
It had been a very long and emotional week. After packing her bags, she had to book plane tickets available for a week to go.
She had to tell her father and her brother everything about her pregnancy as well. Her father was a little disappointed in his daughter but forgave her while her little brother jumped for joy at having a princely nephew in the family.
Her mother, Rosalie, then advised her to go for a test at the hospital to determine the exact period when she became pregnant.
Naomi, for her part, only had in mind the famous night when the sheikh had made love to her again and again. That night when Emir kept her from sleeping, using his caresses to make her succumb, she was almost convinced that it was that moment.
Why did she break down last time? she thought. It was one moment too many.
She missed him terribly, her lack was so immense that she suffered.
He must have hated her for leaving.
One of the guards who guarded the palace gates recognized her immediately and asked that the sheikh be informed of her arrival, and for permission to let her enter. unfortunately the information never reached its destination because when the messenger knocked on the office door and entered in haste, it was not the sheikh he found but his future wife.
– Princess Maïra. He said, bending respectfully.
– what is there to come like this to the king’s office. she scolded
– I had come to announce good news to her, princess.
– good news ? What?
– it’s a bit delicate princess and private order
– speak otherwise I will be happy to request your dismissal for insubordination towards me.
– but…
She stood up and positioned herself in front of the young envoy
– it’s… it’s the foreigner. he finally let go.
– what the foreigner?
– she is back princess and asks to speak to her majesty
– what?
She began to pace around the office. She had to act quickly, Emir would be back soon, he had gone to take a shower in his apartments because he was getting ready to go out for an official visit to a local museum.
– that’s what you said, listen to me carefully…
– princess…
– shut up, I will soon be Emir’s wife and I could easily be thrown into oblivion if the desire took me, don’t underestimate me not.
– well
– you will say that the sheikh refused to receive her and ordered her to be banished from his lands if she dared to set foot again in front of the palace. That he never wants to see her again and that she never tries to contact him again under penalty of being thrown in prison.
– but, the sheikh would never say…
– do what I ask you to do and you will be graciously rewarded.
– well my queen
– I prefer that.
I young messenger came out and said word for word the words he had been asked to say.
Naomi then collapsed into her mother’s arms and cried
– mom I lost it. She says.
– come let’s not stay here.
The guard watched her leave with a sad look, not knowing what to do.
They took a taxi which dropped them off at a hotel as close to the palace as possible.
Naomi had ended up falling asleep in her mother’s arms in the taxi.
– my darling we have arrived.
– Mom, let’s go home please. She said in a breath.
– out of the question we will stay here, I didn’t do all this traveling for nothing. I said I would meet him and I will, trust me.
She got out of the taxi and asked for their luggage to be taken up to the room they were going to stay.
Rosalie was determined and ready to fight for her daughter’s future and no one was going to stop her.
