Desert Encounter -
Chapter 9
Emir was standing in his office furious and didn’t seem to be upset for a good two hours now.
Despite the numerous treatments inflicted on the rebels, he had not been able to obtain the vital information he so desired. Find out where his uncle was hiding.
But now he knew that he was no longer acting alone, he had been able to obtain the name of their leader during the attack in the desert, the same one with whom he had fought and who had fled. the very one who now worked hand in hand with his uncle was unfortunately nothing other than Aziz al khali, his young cousin, the one with whom he played when he was still little.
He did not know that his young cousin had returned from Europe and was now trading against him, he who had said in the past that he was not interested in state affairs.
He had wanted to pass himself off as a normal rebel so that people wouldn’t know who he really was.
The sheikh was angry at this revelation but that was not all, what made him come off his hinges until then was the news that his cousin had wanted to leave for him by I don’t know what means. But now he was certain that a traitor was hiding in his palace and who knows maybe more, working in the shadows with the aim of harming him.
The message was very clear, precise and concise. he still remembered the words the tour guide had said through b***d-stained teeth when he began to smile.
《- I have a message for you, your majesty. He said with a certain mockery.
The sheikh looked at him, impassive, waiting for him to continue
– our beloved prince, future king, Aziz, is letting you know that the foreign woman belongs to him, and that he will come and get her back.! 》he started laughing like a madman
It was therefore with heavy steps and with a certain anger that he left the interrogation room.
Still pacing around to calm down, there was a knock on his door
– come in. His voice was harsh, it reflected all the tension that could emanate from this room.
A guard entered trembling, for fear of attracting the wrath of the sheikh and bowed in salute
– your majesty, the inmates have been transferred to the central prison
– good. Seeing that the guard still didn’t move he continued. Is there anything else?
– yes your majesty, a certain Ibrahim Kardafi asks to meet you. He is in front of the gate.
– enter him and lead him here
– okay your majesty, please excuse me. 》
Emir took a deep breath before sitting down, he had to calm down, it was not the time to vent his anger, every day had its time. A
few minutes later, there was another knock at his desk
– done the entrance. he growled
The door opened to reveal the guard
– well your majesty. 》
He stepped aside and brought in Ibrahim, remarkable among all because he was the only black on the expedition and the only one with whom he had been able to communicate.
a tall man, of imposing build, no one could ignore him
《 – Ibrahim. Tona the Sheikh
– your majesty. He had bowed in greeting and respect, both hands behind his back
– come and take a seat.
The latter complied and sat upright with his hands placed on his thighs, facing his sovereign
– what are you doing now, Ibrahim, after taking early retirement? He was a man of barely thirty
– nothing, your majesty, I am content from time to time to be a loader when unloading a boat and a bodyguard when strangers arrive and ask for protection or a special guide. This is actually what I was doing in this desert, your majesty
– I understand better. The sheikh surveyed him for a few seconds before continuing. And do you like what you do?
– we have to feed the family well, I am the eldest of an immigrant couple, I was born here and I am the only man of 5 children, your majesty.
– thank you for your honesty. Ibrahim I saw how you were able to take matters into your own hands in the desert so, would you be interested in working for me
Ibrahim stood up directly
– for you?
– Yes! of course I’m not speaking as a soldier, I’m asking you to come and work here at the palace
– se…….it would be a real honor for me your majesty but……
– but…. .the sheikh raised an eyebrow
– but I don’t deserve it, I had to leave our army because of a war injury in my leg which proves my inability to be a good soldier for you, so I don’t deserve to be in your direct service your majesty
Emir was truly touched to see this man give up such an opportunity just for fear of disappointing him, it had been true
– that’s for me to judge. So are you ready or not to work for me? The sheikh had been a little harsher in his remarks just to rush him a little
– yes your majesty, with pleasure
– well, you will live in the palace from now on and I will give you your new functions when the time comes.
– thank you your majesty. 》
Ibrahim stood up, sensing the end of the conversation, still bowed respectfully with both hands behind his back and left the office knowing what he had to do, go get his meager belongings that were waiting for you at home.
Emir had made the right choice, he knew he needed to surround himself with new people, new men he could trust because he didn’t know who he could now trust in his palace.
Everyone was a potential enemy, he had to prepare and he had the impression that Ibrahim Kardafi was a good element, he could feel his determination and his commitment that he had towards him.
And that’s what he needed.
Men willing to feed for him and his crown, even if it was the last thing he could think of.
