Desert Heat Chapter 22

{Allie’s P.O.V.}

We were on our way back to the packhouse. I was excited to be going home, but I was nervous about having to confront Sin.

“Baby?” Dorian’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts. “Are you okay?”

“No, I am nervous about Sin,” I replied

“Don’t worry Luna, Sin is upset, but I doubt she will stay mad,” Mikey said from the passenger seat.

“I’m not worried about her forgiving me, I am worried about what she will do first when she sees me,” I knew Sin all too well. She was either going to ugly cry because I came back, or she was going to slap me for lying to her these last few weeks. Knowing her, it would end being up both. After what felt like a lifetime, I could see the packhouse, and the next I knew, we were pulling into the garage.

Dorian stepped out of the car and helped me out. We walked hand in hand to the front door, and I stopped before he could open it.

“What is it, baby?”

“How mad is the pack? I mean, I essentially abandoned them,”

“Not to worry, the pack knows the truth now. Some were upset at first, but they had to be reminded that you are human, and a lot of the s**t that happened to you, they would never experience. That made them humble and understanding,” Brandon said. I nodded my head and Dorian opened the front door. I walked in and the majority of the packhouse was full, and in the middle of the floor stood Sin. I could not even look at her. I felt horrible. I knew what I did was a necessary evil, but I still felt guilty for lying to my best friend, my sister.

I walked up to her slowly and I could see tears filling her eyes and tears were filling mine too.

“Sin, I …” Before I could even finish, Sin slapped me across the face. Dorian stepped forward but I stopped him. Just like Brandon and Mikey, Sin and I had our ways of dealing with things. I lowered my head and just sobbed.

“You b***h! How the f**k could you lie to my face like that!? Then leave the way you did!?”

“Because you suck at keeping secrets,” I said while still sobbing trying to be funny. Sin tried to contain her laughter, but she knew it was true.

“People of the Desert Moon pack, tomorrow night, we will celebrate. The enemy is dead, our Luna is safe and has returned,” more cheers came and whistles. “Additionally, she has agreed to fully take on her role as your Luna! Her word is the law, and you will respect her, cherish her, love her, and respect her just as you would any other ranking member of this pack,”

“Yes, Alpha!” the crowd said in unison

“Furthermore, Sin has already accepted her role as the Gamma female of this pack, she is also to be respected and loved as much as Mikey,”

“Yes, Alpha!”

“You are all dismissed,” with his final word, everyone went their own ways.

“Babe, can I have a minute with Sin?”

“Of course,” he kissed my forehead and he and the guys went upstairs. I turned to Sin.

“What’s up?”

“I made up my mind,”

“About?”

“I will go talk to him now,”
