Desert Heat Chapter 43

{Dorian’s P.O.V.}

“…Tomorrow afternoon, yes that’s fine…I suggest you do bring them because they will have to personally apologize for their crimes…You as well…Goodbye,” I hung up the phone and ran my fingers through my hair. I sat in silence. The Alpha and his three sons were planning on coming to our packhouse to get the full story on what happened at the club yesterday. How was I going to tell Allie and the girls, their attackers would be in our home? My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. I looked over and saw Allie.

“Hey, you busy?” she asked

“No, just hung up the phone,” she smiled and closed the door. She came around my desk and sat in my lap.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,”

“Dorian, if you think I have a bad poker face, you should see yours when you lie,” I furrowed my brows at her. She lifted one brow to me. I sighed.

“You’re going to be pissed,” I tell her.

“What is it?”

“Alpha Harold of the Big Bend Pack is going to be coming here tomorrow…” I paused. She lifted her brow again. “…He’s bringing his sons with him,” she just stared at me and didn’t say a word. “Allie?” she started to bite her l*p and the inside of her cheek.

“…They’re coming here, to our home?” she asked. I nodded. “Have you told the others?”

“Not yet. I was about mind link the guys to come in, but you came first,” I told her.

“…What are you waiting for Dorian?”

Guys, my office. Bring the girls

Be right there!

I looked up at Allie who just stared at me. A few minutes later, the guys came in with the girls behind them.

“Whoa, the energy in this room is cold,” Mikey said.

“Allie?” Sin asked.

“Come in, everyone, take a seat,” I say to them. They all come in and closed the door. Everyone takes a seat and looks at Allie and me. I look at her, and she gestures for me to start talking.

“What’s up boss?” Brandon asked

“I just got off the phone with the Alpha of the Big Bend Pack. They will be coming here tomorrow to discuss what happened yesterday,”

“Discuss what!? Those guys assaulted our girls, our ranked females. The big guy was on the verge of assaulting Allie!” Mikey exclaimed, obviously unhappy about the situation.

“What did he actually say?” Brandon asked.

“When I told him what happened, I heard him ask his sons about it. He says that they claim the girls weren’t marked,”

“That’s f*****g bullshit!” Allie shouted in my ear. “How the f**k can you miss these bite marks on three tiny women wearing bikinis!? You can see this s**t from a mile away!” she shouted while showing me her mark. I couldn’t help but smirk a little.

“Allie’s right! That’s a load of bull! All of our marks are clearly visible. They chose to disregard it!” Leah said. “I know werewolf law because I grew up in a pack! Putting your hands on a marked wolf is forbidden, and depending on the crime that follows it, it can call for banishment or death,” Leah continued.

“So, what? They plan on coming here to make it seem like they were the innocent ones. Regardless of us being marked female wolves, men should not put their hands on women that way, ever!” Sin said crossing her arms.

“Sin and Leah, tomorrow when they are here, I need you two stay in your rooms or in the kitchen, do not interfere with the meeting,”

“What about me?” Allied asked.

“You are the Luna; you will need to greet them when they pull into the property. Nick and Paxton will be at the entrance of the territory in their wolf forms and will escort Alpha Harold to the front of the packhouse. You will greet them, as professionally and cordially as possible, and then bring them to the conference room, understand?” Allie slumped and pouted before nodding her head.

“I should have just let you kill him,” muttered under her breath. I shook my head and pressed my face into her neck.

“Un-f*****g-believable,” Sin and Leah both said.

“Sin, how the triplets doing on their first day?” Allied asked

“Good. Katie is a natural in the kitchen, and the other two are making friends quickly in the hospital,” Allie nodded.

“Look, I have a few more calls I need to make for work, so why don’t you ladies go hang out by the pool or whatever it is you guys do when we’re busy,” Sin and Leah left immediately and Allie kissed me on the cheek before getting up and heading out herself. Once the door closed, I turned to Brandon and Mikey.

“What?”

“We don’t have any work calls today…” Mikey said. “You just wanted them out of the room,” I nodded.

“Dorian, why do you think they’re lying about the girls’ marks?” Brandon asked.

“Yeah, Allie said it herself, their marks can be seen a mile away. Plus, Allie is a Luna, that kind of aura doesn’t go unnoticed,” Mikey added. “Regardless if Allie is a newborn, the aura from a Luna is known by all werewolves. The moment she told them to back off, they should have recognized she was ranked,”

“Leah is right, those guys deliberately broke our laws and attacked our girls! Allie should have let me tear that guy to shreds! He had Leah by the f*****g throat! She was almost a foot off the ground!” Brandon slammed his fast against the table.

“Did you two notice how calm Allie was though?” I asked them. They looked at me and then at each other.

“Now that you mention it, yeah. The Luna was really f*****g calm. Even when she called for help, it was cool and collected,” Brandon agreed.

“Ever since Allie turned, her personality has really changed,” I said to them

“Is that bad?” Mike asked

“No, not at all. She has definitely been more open, outgoing, assertive, and doesn’t show fear anymore. It’s like her wolf brought out this whole new Allie,”

“You know, I’ve heard of this happening before,” Mikey said.

“What do you mean?” Brandon asked as I just looked at him from my desk.

“I’ve heard of timid and fearful individuals coming to life after they receive their wolf,”

“You mean humans like Allie?” I ask him

“Not just humans, but full-blooded wolves too. Think about it, Allie was this tiny little human who was broken and terrified of everything. She snapped at Dorian, pulled your guys’ hair, and then blacked out from crying after begging Dorian to kill her. Not even two weeks after living here, she was beaten nearly to death. As soon as she gained her wolf, she helped Brandon find Leah, found the triplets, ripped into them for disobeying her, planned an orgy in the cabana and then taunted those guys after she was almost assaulted again,”

Mikey had valid points. Maybe this was the real Allie. The Allie that was suppressed from all of the trauma she had endured her whole life. The moon goddess didn’t just pair us with random mates, she always chose mates that complimented us. Allie has done nothing but proves herself to be a strong individual. Even her asking me to allow Sam to train her because she felt the need to protect Sin and Leah was something the old Allie never would have done. I couldn’t help but smile.

“There’s something else I need to tell you guys,” I said to them.

“What?”

“Allie asked me to marry her,”

“SHE WHAT!?!” both shouted.

“Wait, what the f**k? She asked you?” Brandon reiterated. I just nodded and leaned back in my chair smiling.

“I didn’t see the ring on her finger yet man?” Mikey said

“That’s because I haven’t given it to her yet,”

“You have it?” Mikey asked

“Of course, he has it! He probably bought that s**t the day after she got here,” Brandon said.

“I bought it when she was in the hospital recovering. I had a jeweler come in and measure her finger one day when no one was there,” I told them.

“Damn, that’s f*****g insane! But that’s f*****g awesome at the same time! Congrats man!” Mikey came up to me and gave me a bro hug. Brandon came and joined us.

“When do you plan on giving it to her?” Brandon asked.

“The night of the ceremony after they have their shift. The Luna ceremony is just a formality at this point. She’s already mated, marked, and bonded by b***d to the pack,” I said to them. “So, now that you know I am engaged, Allie wants us to do big a*s joint party either in the Bahamas or the Caribbean, you guys down?”

“f**k YEAH!” they both shouted.

“Dude, I got to ask, best man?” Brandon said referring to himself.

“Of course! Mikey, you’re obviously the groomsman,” we had another bro hug. Just then, Brandon’s eyes clouded over. Someone was mind linking him.

“Uh, Dorian, you might want to get down to the pool,”

“Why?”

“Allie is apparently tanning topless. She’s on her stomach, but an omega is saying that a couple of guys are starting to stare,” Brandon didn’t have to say anything else. I ran out of my office and down to the pool. When I got there, sure enough, Allie was tanning topless and I found more than a couple of unmated males staring.

“Unless you all want to run 20 miles in the morning for the rest of the year, I suggest you look somewhere else!!” I yelled using my Alpha tone. I looked down at Allie and realized she was sleeping. “Allie,” I said shaking her a little.

“Hm! Wh..What?”

“Allie, why the f**k are you topless?”

“Because I am tanning and don’t want a tan line,”

“How long have you been out here?” I asked her

“Ten minutes. Why?” she asked obviously annoyed

“You fell asleep in ten minutes and were so knocked out you didn’t even hear me yell just now?”

“You yelled?” she said trying to sit up. I handed her the top to her bikini and she put it back on.

“Allie, don’t ever tan out here topless again, do you hear me?”

“Do you know how ridiculous it would look if I had tan lines across my boobs?”

“Then tan on the balcony from our room where no one can see you,”

“Fine,” she said and then got up.

“Where are you going?”

“For a swim,” she untied her hair and let it fall before diving into the water. I watched her from above and saw that she was underwater the entire length of the pool. The pool was 3/4 the size of an Olympic size pool, so the fact that she could hold her breath that long was amazing. She also swam at the bottom of the pool the entire length and then pushed herself up from a depth of ten feet. She easily just held her breath for a minute and a half. She came up took a deep breath and swam to the edge of the pool where the ladder was.

“That was impressive,” I said to her

“What was?”

“Holding your breath that long and staying at the bottom the entire time,”

“What, was it like 30 seconds?”

“30 sec…Baby, you held your breath for a minute and thirty seconds,”

“I did? Didn’t feel like it,”

“Are your lungs okay?” she nodded and smiled genuinely. “You look happy,”

“I love the water. When I was younger, I always wished I could be a mermaid,”

“There’s something else we have in common,” I said to her. I always considered myself a fish out of water. It was why my dad had the pool built. I used to be in this thing all day every day.

“You should get everyone to join us,” that was actually wasn’t a bad idea. I mind linked the guys and told Brandon to bring me a pair of trunks. Allie never got out of the water. While I was waiting for everyone to show up, Allie was floating on her back in the water. She seemed to be a peace. A few minutes later and the gang showed up.

“Here,” Brandon tossed me some trunks. I changed behind the tree and came back out.

“Allie, you might want to move!” I shouted to her

“Why?”

“Because Brandon is about to dive in!” she opened her eyes and Brandon was mid-air right over her

“AHH!!” She immediately dove under the surface. Brandon missed by a few inches. She and Brandon surfaced at the same time. “BRANDON YOU A*****E!!! YOU RUINED MY ZEN MOMENT!!”

“Hahaha!! Sorry Luna,” I laughed and dived in behind Allie. I swam over to her. We were all standing in the five to six feet depth and having a good time. Allie was holding her own while Leah and Sin were on Brandon and Mikey’s backs. We found out that they didn’t know how to swim.

“Baby, ask Mrs. Johnson if she can bring lunch out here for us,” Allie said

“I got that covered Luna, I asked her if she could throw some meats on the grill,” Mikey said. Allie smiled. She dove to the bottom of the pool.

“Watch her,” I told the guys and we all watched as Allie stayed at the bottom and swam to the other end of the pool in one go.

“Dude, what the f**k? Is she a fish or something?” Brandon asked.

“Allie can’t tell the time when she’s in the water,” Sin said.

“What does that mean, honey?” Mikey said.

“Allie is what you would call a natural free driver. That b***h has always been able to hold her breath for long periods of time. I decided to test it out once, and she was able to hold her breath for just under three minutes. She thought it was like 45 seconds,”

“Damn, she is a fish,” Brandon said. Allie finally came up for air.

“SHOW OFF!” Sin shouted. Allie just smiled.

“I told you I would teach you to swim, but you don’t want to,” Allie replied as she swam back. She dove under again, but not as deep. She came up and pushed back her hair. The angle the sun hit her mark, made me smile.

“Let’s get this party started shall we!” I heard Mrs. Johnson.

“Yes!!” The girls shouted.

“Mrs. Johnson, do you want some help?” Allie asked

“Nonsense Luna, enjoy yourself. I have burgers, hotdogs, and barbeque ribs. Katie and the others are making tossed salad and other fixings to go with it. Nothing we can’t handle,”

“Are you sure?”

“Positive Luna!” Allie shrugged her shoulders. She walked to me and jumped up into my arms locking her legs around me and hugging me tightly.

“Hold me steady, I’m going to put my hair up,” I held her legs as she leaned back and pulled her hair into a bun and secure it in place. When she was coming back up, I placed a k**s in the middle of her neck.

“Hey! None of that s**t in the pool!” Brandon spat.

“Instead of paying attention to us, how about you make sure your mate doesn’t drown,” I spat back.

We decided to play a round of chicken with girls on our shoulders. Sin and Leah were against it at first, but the guys promised they wouldn’t drown. The girls were ruthless to each other, especially Sin. She somehow got a hold of Allie’s top and pulled it off. Allie covered herself and I lowered her into the water.

“You’re a cheater!!” Allie shouted as Sin tossed me the top. I helped Allie put it back on. Allie got on my back, and we watched to see who would win between Sin and Leah. In the end, Sin was victorious.

“That’s right bitches! You guys might beat me in Tap n’ Tickle, but I rule at Chicken!” While she was having her own little victory ceremony, Allie started to leave small k****s on my mark.

“What’s that for?” I asked her

“Because you’re sexy,” I chuckled.

“LUNCH IS SERVED!!” Mrs. Johnson shouted. We all got out and headed for the picnic table. Everyone dug in. We ended up spending the rest of the day out the by the pool and also ended up having a massive pool party that night with music, more food, and drinks. It was Allie’s idea as a way to include everyone in the packhouse.

I took the time to enjoy myself with my girl, before the real work began. Something about the Harold brothers didn’t sit well with me. Why would they deliberately break our laws and assault our three ranked females? I needed answers, and tomorrow I was going to get them.
