Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover -
Chapter 677
Chloe was caught off guard for a moment.
She turned to Connor, "You know there's a five-year gap between us, right?"
Connor shrugged, "And? What's your point?"
"So... were you a virgin until you hit twenty-five?"
Chloe's eyes danced with a playful tease as she fixed her gaze on him.
Connor's ears flushed red, a hint of irritation flickering in his eyes.
Yet, he replied, his voice low and gritted, "As real as it gets."
Chloe burst into laughter.
She lay sprawled on the bed, her hair a wild mess, laughing so hard she shook.
"Hey, don't laugh at me."
Connor playfully nibbled at her neck.
Chloe softened her expression, cupping his face in her hands, though a trace of sadness lingered in her eyes, "I'm sorry I couldn't have my first time with you." Linda was gone now.
She'd never uncover that secret.
Connor knew Linda was behind Chloe's first time being stolen.
A wound Chloe carried for life.
He suddenly regretted bringing it up.
Intending to lighten her mood, he'd only dredged up old memories.
Connor shifted in bed, pulling Chloe close.
"It doesn't matter, not one bit. Having you here now is the best gift the universe could give me."
The next morning.
Chloe woke up to find Connor already up and about.
She wandered into the dining room, spotting him having breakfast while skimming news on his tablet.
A financial headline caught his attention.
"...Sartori Corporation's princess caught in a media storm, with Eldridge Entertainment's stock plummeting at the open, erasing billions in market value in a day..." Chloe strolled over.
Connor, hearing her approach, shut the tablet and turned to her, "Why not catch a few more winks?"
Chloe had hit the sack pretty late.
Her sleep was often restless, and getting three straight hours was a rare treat.
She placed one hand on Connor's shoulder, reaching for the tablet with the other.
Checking out the headline, she grinned, A bad apple doesn't fall far from the tree, 'The Sartori Princess Dances with Wolves,' not bad at all. That journalist deserves a pat on the back."
Chloe was clearly in high spirits.
Even with plenty of seats around, she opted not to use any.
Instead, she settled comfortably on Connor's lap.
Scrolling through news about Claire, amusement winkled in her eyes, "Looks like Chloe's in for a tumble this time She thought Lisa was her fierce ally, but turns out Lisa's just a clay idol on unstable ground dragging Chloe through the mud."
Chloe laughed heartily, "I'd pay to see her face right now. Bet it's priceless."
Connor knew this was a setup Chloe had crafted for him.
The Sartori Corporation's annual meeting was just around the corner.
Jeffery was set to announce the heir to Sartori Corporation.
Every move he and Claire made could sway Jeffery's decision.
Public perception was crucial.
Eldridge Entertainment was Claire's crowning achievement in Jeffery's eyes and among the major shareholders.
But now, with the stock nosediving and her reputation tangled with a criminal, she was in a real pickle.
Connor wrapped his arms around Chloe's waist.
A soft smile played on his lips, "You snatched the Queen's Tears yesterday with this in mind, didn't you?"
He gave her waist a gentle squeeze, "You clever little fox."
After breakfast.
Chloe headed off to Eldridge Tower.
Eldridge Tower housed Eldridge Entertainment's headquarters.
Across from it stood the Sartori Corporation's HQ, a towering giant,
es Vinest landmark in all of
City.
