The Fairy’s Forbidden Mate Chapter 82

The old man's eyes lit up as she clasped onto his energy... this was what he was wanting her to do. He quickly withdrew from accessing his power causing it to ricochet backwards and into her at full force.

The energy exploded into her and her body was thrown backwards into Cody's furry chest. She coughed from the impact and splatters of blood shot out from her mouth. Rhea! Lumi yelled as she desperately worked on repairing the internal damage. The energy had compounded into her at such a force that it merged into her body. Lashing back at her own energy. The two colliding forces were overflowing from her body both inside and out. She had slashes over her body, deep gashes that were trickling out crimson liquid. A laceration on the side of her face oozed red liquid.

The agony of being torn from the inside out almost made her lose consciousness. The pain swept over her in waves as the two energies finally began to settle and the foreign one dissipated from her body. It felt as if her skin was being shaved off of her by a hot iron. Her wounds screamed angrily making them known to her. She shifted slightly into the fur behind her and coughed up more blood violently.

Lumi was trying desperately to tend to the life-threatening wounds quickly. To at least treat them just enough before moving to the next wound. She just hoped she could work fast enough. It didn't make sense to her. This man had almost killed her. Wasn't he supposed to be bringing her back for the demons?

"Rhea... Oh my gosh..." Kelsie stood in front of her frantically looking over the multiple wounds over her body. Cody had her protectively resting into his chest and he used his body to hold her up. His eyes glanced upwards as the old man began to lash out again. The man was now planning to get rid of him and Kelsie. Cody stared back at the man. He didn't want to do it... but he would if he had to. If it were the only way to protect the two women he loved then he would sacrifice himself on their behalf. He would use his trump card. The skill guardians never wanted to talk about. The double edged sword he carried. It used up his strength in a way that would guarantee victory... but would claim his life.

The old man sneered at the non-dragons in front of him. He honestly didn't care. He could care less if they all died. It was disgusting for them to even be allowed in the dragon kingdom. Let alone to be there as honored guests. And then some dragon disgustingly marked one of them. Then the pathetic excuse for a king took her as his mistress. It was repulsive. He was doing the dragons a favor. Yes... this was for the best. He internally smiled knowing they would all be dead soon. Melvin didn't need her for the demons. There are other ways to secure his future. The demons had lured his grandson with giving him the dragon throne but this could be handled in another way as well.

Cody looked up with determined eyes. He had made his decision. There wasn't any more time. He could see the man drawing in the next attack. He had to act now while there was still time.

Kelsie take Rhea. Kelsie lowered Rhea onto her and held her on the ground as Cody took a protective stance in front of the two girls.

I love you both... take care of each other for me. Cody turned his head and looked at the two girls. He watched the confusion in Kelsie's eyes. He saw Rhea peer out from underneath her clenched eyelids. He had no regrets. Not if it meant saving them. He turned to face the two men in front of him. He would take both men out with him.

Cody began to dig for his deeply tucked weapon inside of him. Searching to unlock the overwhelming energy. He closed his eyes and took in his breath. This was who he was. He was born to protect her... to protect them both.

Suddenly, the ground rippled below him, and a gust of energy pushed his body backwards. It was a force like no other. He opened his eyes as he heard a terrifying roar. In front of him a large deep blue dragon manifested itself. Its gaze was directed on the dragon and old man in front of him.

This time fear swept over the old man's face. The gray dragon hunkered his head lowly and turned his head to the side. He was showing submissiveness. Unwilling to challenge the dragon in front of him. The blue dragon glanced backwards. His gaze landed on the bloodied body of Rhea and his eyes went black. He turned back and bellowed loudly making all the dragons stop in fear. Their deity was furious, and he demanded obedience from all of his kind. No one was able to deny the absolute authority of him. The dragons in the sky all lowered themselves onto the ground. Their heads were hunkered low as they respected their deity. They hunkered their bodies onto the ground showing him the respect he was demanding. All hoping they would not end up being the one to quell his anger.

"M-m-m-my L-l-lord p-p-please let me explain." The old man stuttered fearfully. "This was to secure the dragon's future. We needed the girl-"

The rich sapphire colored dragon snarled, baring his teeth at the man. Nothing more was needed to be heard. Nothing. He heard they were after the fairy princess and everything else went blank. He began to fill with rage. A very deadly fury was about to be unleashed.

His dark orbs shined with contempt. His anger was out of control. There was no forgiveness to be had here. His gaze fell onto the old man. With an ear-piercing roar he summoned this man's death sentence. The other dragons roared echoing his in agreement. His judgement was absolute. Levi's lips curled upwards as he bared his teeth. There was no forgiveness for harming his mate. A blue light shone from within his throat and at his mouth. A blast of energy hurled towards the old man. A deep intense heat swelled in the area and around him until he combusted into air. That quickly... the powerful old man was no more his strength was nothing compared to Leviathan's. He then turned his gaze to the gray dragon. His eyes twitched angrily and then a large red dragon landed at his side.

Lee had commanded Titus to get information from him. Then to kill him. This was his judgment, and it would not be questioned. If Melvin cooperated, then he would be granted a painless death. Otherwise... he would be tortured until he begged for mercy only it wouldn't be granted. He kept his eyes locked onto the gray dragon until he shifted back to his human form in defeat. Then Titus did as well as Reese joining him to apprehend Melvin. Titus' eyes flipped upwards and behind the deity. Looking for the girl that was behind him.

Lee's gaze shifted then to the group behind him. Cody, back in his human form, was holding Rhea to his chest. Kelsie was kneeling beside them and was holding pressure on one of the deeper wounds. He shifted back into his human self. All the gathered dragons watched him waiting to hear his commands. They shifted back into their human forms as well out of a sign of respect to their deity. Showing they meant no ill will. No one wanted to be on the receiving end of his wrath. So they all stood there frozen in place not wanting to become the next suspect. Instead of addressing them, he turned and walked towards the fairy laying on the ground.

He knelt down and pulled the girl into his body. Small gasps and murmurs were heard among the dragons. He wrapped his arms around her and lowered his lips onto hers. He didn't care. She was his mate. He didn't give a damn who was watching. His poor beautiful mate had been injured. He needed to take care of her. He needed to hold her.

She felt her lips being ignited by soothing embers. Her eyes fluttered open being met with light blue eyes pooling into her. She felt his warm arms around her. He was looking at her so tenderly. She could see the worry in his eyes.

"Were you spying on me again?" Rhea said in a raspy whisper. She cleared her throat and leaned deeper into his embrace. A small trace of blood trickled from her mouth.

He took his thumb and brushed it away from her with watered eyes. "Not this time. Lumi called out to me and said you were in danger." Lee's gentle low tone was soothing, and she relaxed into him.

"I guess I made what you call a rookie mistake." She smiled weakly. Then the horrible realization swept over her. He was publicly holding her. He had publicly kissed her. "Lee.... What are you doing?!"

He had a small smile resting on his face. "What I should have just done from the beginning. I should have made it known you were mine. This hiding in secrecy thing isn't for me. We will figure things out. We will. I just... I can't lose you, Rhea." His voice slowly broke. "I can't lose you... I almost did..." He buried his head into her hair.

She reached her hand up and touched his face, raising it so she could see him. "I'm not going anywhere. I promise. I have my wolf now. I have super-fast healing skills now." She heard Lumi scoff in annoyance in her head. I'll fight and you heal.

Lee gently lowered his lips onto hers again. Very tenderly sealing his love into his kiss. He knew he should have kept it secret but when he saw her lying there he couldn't help it. His kitten was out of the bag now.

"Just look at the mess you have gotten yourself into." Grandpa Sage clicked his tongue as he made his way to Rhea. "How about we give that wolf of yours a hand." He gently dropped his magic liquid on the outer wounds on her body. "You need to rest for a bit." He lifted his eyes to Lee who nodded.

"Cody. Please take her to my room to rest. I am going to settle things here."

"Lee, I want to stay with you." Rhea quietly protested.

Lee moved his finger to her lips and cradled her body into his arms. "This time kitten, behave yourself and go rest. Please."

How could she refute that request? His eyes were pleading with her as he looked her over in concern. She sighed and nodded. She felt her body being shifted into Cody's arms. She watched Lee's apprehensive eyes look over her body. She could admit it... she looked awful. He leaned in close to her and nuzzled his mark on her neck. Trying to give her a bit of comfort. She needed to rest. His eyes then went back to Cody and he gave him a slight nod.

Lee watched Cody and Kelsie leave with Rhea until they were almost back to the castle. Then he turned to hushed dragons. The people were standing around quietly. The look in their shocked eyes was very apparent. Across the ground were a few not so surprised faces. Grayson and Ruby stood together with a knowing smile on their faces. To the side of them was Dex and Weston who were also understanding the situation.

Then right to his side was Titus and Reese. And kneeling in front of them was the traitor Melvin who looked completely mortified over what he just saw. Lee wanted to slice open his stomach and strap him down to an ant hill. He let out a silent sigh. He already acted too quick with the old king. He never liked to interfere and let each royal handle their own criminal. However, this was a crime against his mate and exceptions were made. His beast demanded blood for the red liquid his mate lost. Nothing else could quell his anger.

He wanted to go to her and be with her as she recovered. First thing first though.... It was time to make it known she was his. They would understand well what it would mean to mess with something of his. More than that. They would know that she was ranked above them. Above them all.
