The Fairy’s Forbidden Mate Chapter 99

"P-P-P-regnant? I'm going to me a father?!" Cody mashed Kelsie's body into him, and his eyes watered in happiness. "I can't believe it." "You're okay with it?" Kelsie asked quietly.

Cody chuckled and nodded. "What I'm not okay with is you not telling me before we left. You should have stayed home." Kelsie smiled as she leaned into his warmth. "That's why I didn't tell you."

Cody was grinning widely and sighed happily as he looked up smiling at Rhea and Levi. He couldn't believe he almost missed this. In fact, he would have missed this if it wasn't for Olga. Olga... That had him thinking. Why would Olga save him? What was her motive for getting involved here? Sure, he was happy to be alive, but something seemed off. She was supposed to be this vicious evil queen of the merrows. He pulled back from Kelsie and stood up then tugged her back into his side. Then he turned his head to study Olga. "I don't get it. Why would you save me?"

Olga laughed loudly. "That's your first words to me? Not thank you?" She watched his cheeks heat up red in response.

"Thank you. I can't put into words how incredibly grateful I am. Really, I am. I just can't understand why you would go through the trouble to save me. I didn't think that, well, to be honest I didn't think the merrow cared about anyone but other merrows." Cody admitted quietly.

Olga laughed again and nodded her head. "That isn't exactly untrue. But I guess I could explain some things a bit." Olga looked over at Rhea and smiled.

"Well first let us start here. The previous couple of merrow queens were incredibly vicious and were for other merrows only. So, they created the reputation that we have now. However, we do like to keep to ourselves and not be involved with others. Call it self- preservation. BUT when it comes to the fairy royalty, I will always make an exception. We are still part of the fairy kingdom and I am loyal to the fairy rulers." Olga stopped to make sure everyone was with her at this point. "Did you know one of us would die?" Rhea asked quietly.

"I was highly suspect of it. Kali is a dark priestess who can see the future." Olga started but was then interrupted by Lee.

"Wait, why would the dark priestess want us to kill a half demon? They belong on her side of the spectrum."

"Yes, why indeed... I don't know. There is more going on here then I know. I figured by the way Kali spoke that she anticipated that the princess would lose someone special. That just doesn't work for me. If she was going to demand that you accept this task then I was going to do my best to alter the fate she could foresee. Though she may have seen the change in fate the moment I made my decision... hell she might have known all along this was what I would do." She then turned and looked at Cody. "But what you are asking is why I would choose to intervene. You are curious what is in it for me?"

Cody nodded his head as he held Kelsie gently against his body. This is exactly what he wanted to know.

"It's simple. I didn't want the princess to be in pain." Olga turned and smiled at Rhea. "Regardless of what you have heard, or think you know, my loyalties lie with you and your mother. The many misconceptions of who I am now are simply that, misconceptions. So why were you saved? Because you were someone precious to the princess. Simple as that."

"Fair enough. Thank you. Because of you I am going to be alive to see my child born." Cody tugged Kelsie gently as he beamed with pride.

"I wonder what the dark priestess' motive is. Why would she want me to fight against Abaddon? Did she want me to get taken?" Rhea tilted her head back to look at Lee.

"No, I don't believe so." Olga said plainly. "She would have known the outcome. I'm sure she has a reason. One that we may never know." "Thank you, for saving Cody. I didn't know how I was going to move on without him." Rhea admitted as Cody gave her a sad side smile. "You're welcome. I am glad I was able to help."

"Are we ready to go home?" Lee asked looking over the three of them.

"Yes, please. I've had enough excitement, I think. I am ready for some nice quiet time." Rhea said and Cody chuckled loudly.

"I did not think I would ever hear you say that. Finally, that means some good guardian down time." Cody smiled down at Kelsie. He wanted to spend time reflecting on his new growing family. He was going to be a father and he couldn't be more excited. "We still have a long hike to get back though."

Lee smiled and tilted his head to the side. "No, I don't think so."

"Umm nope. Flying isn't my thing." Kelsie said as the three other people in her party stared at her grinning.

Titus paced back and forth. He kept glancing to the sky and then back towards the river. It was evening now.

"Titus, try to relax. I'm sure everything is fine. Leviathan isn't exactly a push over." Lila walked up to Titus and gently took his arm.

He smiled down at her and nodded. "I just expected them back already. I hope nothing bad has happened. I hope nothing happened to Kelsie. I don't think Rhea can take losing anyone else. She looked pretty broken." Titus couldn't take losing anyone else either. Kelsie and Cody were family to him too. He was struggling to stay strong.

"She isn't broken. Maybe bent and banged up. It is going to take her a long time. In time though she will get better. We just need to be patient and be there for her the best we can." Lila rubbed Titus' arm. "Titus, there look!" She pointed up in the sky as a blue dragon came into view.

"Levi, he's back. Wait a minute... hot damn!" Titus yelled and ran with Lila towards the descending blue dragon.

Cody slid off and helped Kelsie down.

"I can't believe you guys made me do that!" Kelsie pouted.

"Oh come on you know it was actually kind of fun." Cody kissed her head and then felt big arms scoop him up from behind.

"I thought you were dead man." Titus laughed as he lifted the large man in the air.

"Good to know you missed me so much." Cody grinned as Titus lowered him to the ground.

"Are you kidding?! You're my brother now too. Of course, I was going to miss you. Who else could I call Yogi or Boo Boo? I have a list of bear names I still need to use on you." Titus slapped Cody on the back once more. He was so relieved. "How the heck are you alive?" "I think that is a story for the trip home." Lee said still in his dragon form.

Titus looked up at Rhea, who was still seated on Levi. She looked much better already. He smiled and felt a warm excitement wash over him. They got Levi back and Cody was alive. Everything had actually turned out okay. And these people were now all coming back to his kingdom to live. And soon he would get to be Uncle Titus to Kelsie's and Cody's new little one. "I'll take Cody and Kelsie on my back so I can hear about what happened." Titus said and then winked as he saw Kelsie's face pale.

"Can't I just meet you guys there?" Kelsie looked back at the water with longing.

"No way. I'm not letting you and my little cub out of my sight." Cody captured her in his arms and nodded to Titus. Titus shifted into his red dragon and much to Kelsie's chagrin she was soon back in the air again. The only thing that made it better is she was tightly snuggled into Cody's side. His arm held her protectively and securely. It was the greatest feeling in the world. She promised herself that she would never take him for granted. She appreciated having him more now.

Rhea felt the wind blowing in her face and closed her eyes as they soared through the sky. The situation had tested her mentally. Lee being sealed away from her and then thinking Cody was dead took a toll on her. It had all worked out, somehow. She leaned forward into Lee. Now she could focus her happiness on having him back.

"Are you going to have to go back and talk with the other deities again?" Rhea was curious how that would all work. Since the Ocean's Tear is what broke the barrier he was in down.

"Trust me they already know. The Ocean's Tear being released would be a big deal. They already know. And I am not in the mood to speak with them right now. I am not exactly happy with being sealed and need time to cool down." Lee grumbled as he effortlessly flapped his wings.

"I am so relieved everything is working out. I know we still have the big demon war ahead of us. But I feel like we have overcome so many obstacles already."

"I'm looking forward to at least having some quiet time with you now that we finally have this whole deity thing solved." Lee chuckled lightly.

Rhea saw the dragon kingdom in the distance. She frowned slightly. "They will all be leaving us soon." She was thinking about how the dragon party was coming to an end. Soon they would all be going back to their own respective kingdoms.

"I'm sure they will visit more now. And we can always visit them too." Lee continued to effortlessly flap his wings in the sky as he led the way back home. Titus and Lila were flying side by side right behind him.

"Yeah, but I like us all being together. Maybe we can plan more get togethers with them. I feel like I am close with all of them. Honestly, I feel connected with all the royals." Rhea wondered why she felt like that with them.

"That is because you are. As my mate you are connected to them. From the moment I marked you they were drawn to you. Their instincts told them that you were someone important to them." Lee answered so casually like it was common knowledge. "It is more than that though. I think you are also someone whose warmth draws others in."

Rhea's eyes opened in excitement as they lowered into the kingdom. She could see Grayson, Ruby, Dex and Weston waiting for them. When Lee landed, she slid off of him and walked up to see them. Lee quickly shifted and was next to her side with his arm around her.

"Thank you for coming. Sorry it's a couple days late." Rhea giggled and scrunched up her nose.

Dex smiled. "I'm glad to see that everyone is okay. We thought you had lost Cody."

"Yeah, we did too. It's a long story we will have to tell you about. We were lucky this time." Rhea leaned into Lee's side as Cody approached.

"A long story we can talk about during dinner." Cody said with a cheesy grin.

"Grumpy Bear needs his food before he goes nuclear." Titus chuckled walking up with Lila. "Come on let's go have dinner."

"We weeded out a few more of the traitors. I think we got them all." Grayson said as they sat around the dinner table.

"Good. Thank you for your help there. We should continue to keep a watch in our kingdoms after this for anyone of suspicion." Titus smiled as he watched Cody taking down his enormous plate of food. "I thought Kelsie is the one who is supposed to be eating for two?" "I think it is sympathy hunger pains." Cody grinned and winked at Kelsie.

"I'm surprised the kingdom of the North will have a king coming back to it. Especially after he spent the night with Leviathan's mate." Weston said with an evil grin as he took a bite of his roll.

There was an awkward silence at first and all eyes were on Lee. Rhea was smiling as she continued to slowly enjoy her meal.

Lee looked up and met with Dex's nervous eyes. "Thank you for looking after Rhea while I was gone. It means a lot to know that she was well looked after in my absence." Lee smirked as he saw the wave a relief wash over Dex's face. "You're welcome." Dex said with a smile while he winked at Weston who sat there with his mouth agape.

Rhea leaned into Lee. Everyone was starting to feel a bit more comfortable around him. Even Weston with his teasing, that was something he would never have done before. "I wish we could all meet up more often. I have gotten used to being with all of you." "Actually, we have been talking about that." Grayson said and Ruby leaned her head into his shoulder as they looked at Rhea. "We want to all meet up every two months for a few days. We can alternate kingdoms if we want too." Rhea's eyes perked up and she looked up at Lee excitedly. "That would be amazing."

Rhea hopped onto the bed next to Lee and snuggled into his bare chest. "I missed you more than you can ever imagine."

Lee wrapped his arms around her and pulled her deeper into him. "Not as much as I missed you. It was the worst feeling in the world knowing you were heading into danger and I couldn't be next to you."

"Aren't you glad I did it now? Or are you? I guess a lot has changed for you with you no longer immortal now and mmmphh-" Rhea felt Lee's lips smash into hers.

"I'll never have to live without you Rhea. That is the biggest gift and blessing I could have ever received. From now on, I will never have to know a life without you. I can't tell you how happy I am." He tilted his head close to her and then slowly began to kiss her. He gently prodded her lips open and then dipped his tongue in her mouth. He slowly tasted her and danced with her tongue. He missed his sweet fairy. He pulled back slightly but left his lips just barely brushing hers. "I can't tell you how much you mean to me. But I am going to do my best to show you though."

He took her lips back. Pressing his own into her plump lips as he wrapped his arms captively around her head as he shifted more on top of her, kissing her deeper. He then lifted up from her and trailed his kisses along her face and then down her neck. He flicked his tongue against his mark on her before he sucked onto it. He listened to her sweet soft moans as he continued to go over his mark. Very softly he trailed his kisses back up to her face. He kissed her forehead, cheeks, nose and then her chin. He let his hot breath singe her lips as he hovered just over them. "Tonight is not a night that will be made for sleeping." He whispered against her lips and felt her body shiver under him. "I plan to lay claim to every inch of your body. All. Night. Long." He murmured against her lips as he closed the gap between them.

The night was young, and he took advantage of this as he made his passionate demands of her body. And just as he had said, neither one of them got any sleep that night. Instead, they enjoyed their night in euphoric pleasure. It wasn't until the sun had already begun to come up that the blissfully exhausted couple fell asleep, as they held each other in their arms.
