Demon War: Rise of the Alpha Chapter 82

A shadow fell over Lilly and soon a red dragon reached the earth next to her and Ciana. Rhea hopped off and Titus shifted back into his human form. He rushed up to Rhea's side as she reached for the wolf. "It's too late. There isn't anything we can do." As Lilly said this Kade's body shifted from his wolf back to his human form. Her tears fell. His wolf was now gone.

Rhea grabbed onto Kade's hand and bit her bottom lip. Titus placed his hands on Rhea's shoulders and they both closed their eyes. A white beam from the heavens shot down over them shoving Lilly aside. Titus, Rhea and Kade's body had been sealed within the light. The light shrunk and formed a round bubble around the three of them. It was a moon bubble like the one that had sealed Lumi.

"I won't let your soul leave Kade." Rhea's soft voice spoke out. Rhea reached her hand out holding part of her energy while Titus did the same in his hand. Together they pushed a piece of themselves inside of Kade's body.

"I hope this can work." Titus whispered as he knelt down on the other side of Kade's body.

"It will work... it has to work. I just hope... I hope he can forgive us for this though." A tear trickled down Rhea's face. This was still going to be painful even if they succeeded.

Darkness beat against Jade as a blue energy slammed against Mephisto. Mephisto was on the run. With every step he was retreating. Leviathan alone would have been a tough fight but now with Jade here it was all he could do just to avoid being hit. When the earth began to tremble the three of them glanced backwards towards the clashing army. This is when Mephisto lost all hope. The Kraken was now mutilating his demon army. Two tier one deities and a demigod have joined forces against him. This was no longer a battle he could win.

His eyes fixated on Jade. It was all her fault. If it wasn't for her, he would have already killed Leviathan At the very least he would end her life. He used this moment of brief distraction to go after her with a surprise attack. He would decapitate her and at least go out knowing her existence was gone as well.

There was no time to evade the incoming attack. Jade watched as the creature of darkness blurred towards her. Then she watched as Mephisto's body went slamming into the hillside as a dragon collided with him. The moment the dragon flapped away from Mephisto, Leviathan pounced onto the demon. He sunk his fangs deep into his neck and unleashed a ball of blue energy into him. The power surged into him, and the brown body began changing to a blue light. The light illuminated brighter and brighter until there was an explosion.

The original demon combusted. The light had beaten the dark. All around the demon army was being eradicated. And with the loss of Mephisto the surviving demons began to retreat in fear.

Lee sighed with relief and lifted his head towards the large brown dragon. The brown dragon had his eyes fixated on the black dragon only standing a few steps from her.

"Perfect timing." Lee said as his blue dragon walked up to the other two.

The brown dragon kept his gaze on Jade. "I couldn't let anything happen to my mate."

Lee nodded his head in understanding. His gaze lifted up looking for Rhea. "Well I'll let you two talk then" He flapped his wings creating gusts of wind lifting into the air. He needed to see Rhea and make sure she was alright.

Jade looked at the brown dragon and watched as he shifted to his human self. She followed suit doing the same. Her amber eyes looked at the man in front of her who closed the gap between them quickly. He reached his hand out and sifted it through her brown hair.

"What is your name?" He asked gently.

"It's Jade."

"Jade... my beautiful mate. I've been waiting for you. Will you accept me?"

Jade bit her bottom lip and nodded her head. She didn't know who this man was but her body was screaming for him. She watched as a sweet smile spread over his face.

"Jade, my name is Weston. I am the dragon king of the south. From now on you shall be my queen. Now... why don't you tell me about yourself? It is obvious that even as a dragon king... you are stronger than me. Which is very interesting." Weston leaned in closer taking in the scent of his mate. It didn't matter to him who she was. She was his. "Which to be honest... I find kind of hot." He let his hot breath pelt against her cheek as he lowered his head to her neck. She agreed to be his mate. And while they had things to talk about, he could not help what he was about to do now.

The immediate danger was now gone. And his newly accepted mate was in front of him. He licked his lips before he flicked his tongue over her neck. He was going to mark her.

The last wave of demons froze on the battlefield as they saw the front line retreating backwards.

A low dark chuckle echoed over them.

"Where do you think you are going?" The Kraken said as his body manifested above the demons who were frantically pushing trying to retreat. "A little too late for that now." He smirked as the ground began to crumble around the demons. Large rock walls erupted from the ground as it caged in the surviving demons.

"Aken you do not have to kill them. Just let them go. This battle is over." Lee said as he hovered next to the other deity.

Aken smirked as the large rock walls smashed forward flattening the remaining demon army.

"Oooops." Aken said with a small shrug. "The walls fell the wrong way. Really must get a handle on these powers again. I tell you they have a mind of their own sometimes."

Lee shook his head seeing the enjoyment on the other deity's face. The moment Aken entered the battle it was over. Just as an original demon on his own could have destroyed the army in front of Elysium, Aken was just as strong. But with there being two tier one deities and Jade, all hope for the demons was lost. Aken destroyed the demons effortlessly while he was busy with Mephisto. But Lee was puzzled. Why did the Kraken get involved in the first place? How did he even know about it to get involved? He could only think of a certain meddling goddess and what she must have done to involve him. Selene was always planning and thinking ahead.

"Don't go anywhere. I want to talk." Lee looked upwards seeing the glowing light. He knew Rhea was inside of it. With one last look at Aken he flew towards her direction. Gliding over the cheering armies that had fought for Elysium. Bodies of both sides littered the ground. But the war had been won. Victory was theirs and Elysium was now safe.

It had taken quite some time but finally Rhea finished healing Kade's body. Then she and Titus pushed Kade's soul back into his body. This was the best they could do. And once completed the bubble around them gently popped.

Surrounding the area where the bubble was were many familiar faces. Rhea felt herself become reenergized as Lee shifted his arms around her. Her body was being drained from the growing child inside of her. And along with her using her own energy she was feeling the wear of it all.

Titus held Lila tightly in his arms and lowered his head into her neck to comfort himself. Even with all the casualties his close group had remained intact... for the most part. He lifted up his head to look at Kade.

"Is he..." Sam asked in a croaking voice as he knelt down next to his father.

Rhea looked over everyone around them. Her mother and father stood side by side holding hands. Next to them was Freya, Wyatt, Cody and Jason. Standing just behind them was Adam, Winston, Caleb and Cedric. Then next to Ciana was Dex, Grayson and Ruby. She didn't see Weston but none of them looked sad so he must still be around. She looked back at Sam where Tristan was now kneeling next to him.

"He will live." Rhea said in a tired voice she could see the relief in everyone's eyes, but she held up a hand. "But he isn't the same anymore. In order to bring Kade back I bestowed upon him a part of me and Titus together." She glanced up at Titus who smiled back at her. "Kade's wolf has died. He will never be able to shift again. He is now more like a fairy than a werewolf. But he will live. I hope... I hope he won't be upset with me for this."

Sam shook his head as tears fell from his eyes. "Thank you, Rhea. Thank you for saving my father's life."

"Where is Weston?" Titus said, looking around.

"He has found his mate." Lee said, looking out in the distance. "Actually Titus... we need to talk." He lifted his eyes up to Titus.

Kade's body started to finally stir. And all attention snapped back onto him. Tyler and Lilly both knelt down to his side as his eyes opened. He looked around everyone in confusion. He looked relieved to see Sam and Wyatt. But then a small frown formed. He leaned onto his arms sitting up.

"Easy dad." Sam said.

"He is fully healed physically. He should be fine." Rhea said and his eyes lifted up to Rhea.

"I feel weird." Kade said quietly and searched through his thoughts. "Wait... I died didn't I?" Then his eyes widened in shock as he noticed something else. "My wolf... I can't reach him."

"I'm sorry Kade." Lilly said, grabbing onto his hand. "Your wolf didn't make it. But Rhea managed to save you. She kind of turned you into a fairy now."

"I know you'll need some time to adjust without your partner. And I am sorry for your loss. But I am so damn glad you are still alive." Tyler said, wrapping his arms around Kade's back letting his tears fall onto his friends' shoulders.

Kade's lips thinned, and he reached his hand up to pat Tyler's while his other hand gripped onto his son. He would need time to mourn the loss of his wolf. It was a part of him. And he would miss him. But he would never forget his sacrifice. He looked up at Rhea and gave her a small smile.

"Thank you, Rhea. I am thankful for what you did. I couldn't imagine leaving my family already." Kade did appreciate what she did. He felt different and would need some time to adjust to this new life. A life without his wolf. Lee stood up and lifted Rhea up into his side. His eyes searched ahead at the presence that was coming forward.

"Aken. Thank you for your help." Lee said as he watched the deity's gaze fall onto Rhea. His eyes wandered over her for a while causing a small growl to sound from Lee's throat. He snapped his gaze back up to him. "Aken? Is that your name?" Tyler looked up at the deity who called himself the Kraken.

"Yes. And now thanks to you I am free to roam over the lands for a while. Giving me time to break this damn curse of mine." He looked back at Rhea and then up to Lee. Then a bright flash of light landed in front of everyone. "Now would you look at that. The Locke family all lives and so do you Levi. Thank you for joining in as well Aken." Selene said sweetly.

Aken scoffed. "What game are you playing Selene?" His eyes flashed over hers with contempt.

Lee thought Aken's reaction to Selene was curious but he was more concerned about what Selene wanted now. And that was for his mate to enter the black hole.

Selene smiled and winked at Aken but then turned to Rhea and Lee. "I will now rebind you back together."

"Wait a minute... you unbonded us?!" Rhea asked and felt Lee's arms tense around her. "And you knew?"

"I foresaw a future where Levi dies at the hands of Mephisto. I predicted several events that I have managed to change the fate of." Selene looked over at Aken again with a strange smile on her face. She grinned wider as she listened to him growl at her. "You shouldn't have a problem making it out of the black hole now." Selene looked at Rhea who looked back at her curiously. Aken growled furiously and muttered curse words under his breath. He ran his hand angrily through his hair.

Rhea was sure she heard Aken mutter the words crazy moon b***h about Selene but wasn't sure. She looked up at the goddess. "Why is that?" She then looked up at Lee and raised her eye at him. They would be talking about this unbinding thing later. Selene grinned. "Let's just say that Aken here will also help lead you back along with Titus."

Aken growled again loudly. "We will talk more about this later." He said in a low lethal tone and stormed away.

Selene started laughing. "Well now that he is back on land, he can start working on those people skills." She looked up to see Levi glaring at her with his baby blue eyes. "Now now you owe me as well. Let's keep those mean old negative glares to yourself. Besides, I just ensured your mates return."

"How exactly?" Lee asked.

Selene winked at Lee and inhaled a deep breath of fresh air happily. "You will find out soon enough." Her eyes settled onto Rhea whose eyes widened. Selene loved how quick witted she was. Rhea already understood perfectly well. "Well, are you two ready for this?" She asked looking from Rhea to Wyatt.

"Honestly I just want to get this all over with. The sooner the better." Wyatt said and Rhea nodded her head in agreement.

"Let's get this over with so we can move on to the after party." Rhea felt Lee's arms tighten around her. She leaned her head back into him. "We aren't saying goodbye. I'll be back, Lee. Wait for me." She felt his lips touch her neck.

"I'll wait for you forever." He whispered into her neck.

"So what do I have to do in all of this?" Titus asked.

"Nothing. Just stay here and stay safe. Rhea will be able to seek out your energy to find her way back." Selene smiled. "She will be drawn to both yours and Aken's energy, so it is best if you two stay together to make the stronger connection. Don't worry I'll speak to him about it briefly after this. You boys don't need to hold hands or anything but just stay in the general area as one another." Selene's face then drew serious. She held out her hand and looked at Rhea and Wyatt.

"Touch my hand and you will be sent into the hole." Selene ordered softly. "We will see you both soon."

Lilly and Tyler looked at their two children. "Trust in yourselves and be safe." Lilly's voice was unusually quiet for her. "Don't worry mom. We will be back before you know it." Wyatt turned and kissed Freya's lips gently. "I'll be right back."

"You better." Freya said as she felt his warmth walk away from her.

"I love you, Lee." Rhea reached up as he planted his lips onto hers.

"Come back to me soon." Lee whispered into her lips. Rhea smiled up at him and walked next to Wyatt. She grabbed onto Wyatts hand, and they both nodded to one another. At the same time, they reached their free hand forward touching Selene's outstretched hand. Instantly, they both vanished. Leaving everyone else there to wait around helplessly waiting for their return.
