Dr. Luna -
Chapter 75
Antsy. Fidgety. Pacing. Jumpy. This is what was rolling through Lilly as they made it to their next campsite. Kira was on alert. She was sending out the warning growls. She darted back and forth. The hair on Lilly's arms were raised. Something was wrong. She wasn't the only one who could feel it. She could feel Tyler going on high alert. And she could see the noticeable shift in attitudes. Something was wrong. The sound of the nearby river and waterfall was the only noise that was heard. Not even the birds were greeting them. Lilly was holding Jason and Rosa was carrying Cody. The two boys were suddenly on edge as well.
Tyler walked up to Cedric. There was a knowing glance between them. Then she felt it... felt the disconnect. Tyler had her blocked out... She did not like this at all. What was he hiding from her? She knew he didn't want her reading his thoughts about something. Why?
Lilly looked around the quiet woods. Nothing. There wasn't anything there but clearly something was. She could feel that something had set its sights upon them. She held on to Jason tightly. She had to make sure the two defenseless little boys were safe. A swift breeze swirled around her, swaying the grass and tops of the trees. The breeze brought about a murderous intention. She shivered from its chilling touch. The centaurs began to slowly move around her. The were strategically encircling her to the outside danger. She scoffed in her head. Whatever was coming... they were going to need her. This was not one of those moments where she needed protected. It was the time for her to help protect the ones she loved. Tsk Tsk Tsk... you shouldn't have left the safety of your pack... princessssssss
The hissing sound of Abaddon sounded in her head. She immediately straightened up and glared towards the forest. She could feel him. She handed Jason to Rosa.
"When the time comes... you give yourself a diversion and run. You take the boys and run. I won't let anyone follow you." Lilly commanded to Rosa. She could see the girl was nervous but nodded in understanding. Haven't learned your lesson yet I see? Lilly shot back angrily. She could feel it. Feel his presence but she still couldn't see him.
"Prepare yourselves. It is Abaddon." Lilly shifted into Kira, wanting to be ready. Her party members turned and stared at her sudden transformation. Tyler was instantly at her side, as well as Tristan. The men all shifted into their feral animals. Tyler. When the moment comes, we make sure no one follows Rosa. I told her to flee with the boys.
You go too. Please.
Tyler! I'll be followed after. I need our boys safe. They won't continue to chase after her. We only need to make sure she isn't followed. Lilly growled into Tyler's head. This was about making sure two babies were not caught up in this fight. Fine. But if I tell you to run away with me then do it! Jax nuzzled his head into Kira's side and then stared off into the woods.
Lilly mentally rolled her eyes.
A loud growl rippled in her head. You damn slut! You are pregnant. I can smell the stench on your body.
Lilly growled as she tried to pinpoint his location. I told you. I would never be yours.
I guess I'll just have to keep you. Then keep your daughter when she is born. Abaddon's disgusting voice sizzled out.
Kira snarled loudly. Drawing the attention of those around her. She was having a conversation that they couldn't hear.
You'll never touch her. I'll rip you apart. And the traitor she wolf that joined your ranks.
HAHAHAHAHA too late for that princessssss. I already took care of that pathetic creature.
Lilly was stunned. You... killed her? She was on your side?
I have no use for the weak. She no longer had a purpose, so I disposed of the trash. I am only interested in the strong. I will create a world that only exists for the strong. You could exist in it princess... you would be welcomed by my side. Kira's eyes fixated on an area in the distance. There. That was where he was. You assume you'll be able to create such a world. It will never happen. I will stop you.
Abaddon cackled in Lilly's head. It isn't just me you have to stop. You are no match for Leoric, demon of the deep. Even the dark priestess fears him. It is too late for this world. There is no army in existence that will be able to defeat what is coming. There is a power at work that you demons can not possibly understand. It will be your downfall.
Abaddon's wolf walked into view. He was looking smugly at Kira. The centaurs raised their weapons defensively. As Tristan took a few protective steps forward.
Say goodbye to your friends, princess, for tonight... you will be embraced by the dark. Abaddon let out an ear-piercing howl. The moment he did, wolves started peaking in through the forest line. There was something else, though.
It took a few commanding steps into view, setting it's gaze on Tristan. It's fangs dripped, the eyes glowed red, as it glowered over at Tristan. Lilly knew this creature was here to fight with Tristan.
"It's a hell hound... they are impermeable to fire." Drake said almost breathlessly. "He had to of dragged it out from the deep... Damn, this just got real serious."
Jax took a protective step in front of Kira, leaning his body into her. He wanted to get his mate and unborn pup out of there. This was looking to be a fierce battle. For once... he really wasn't sure if they would win. At the very least... he needed Lilly and the kids to live. Getting her to leave while he created an opening would be impossible. She would never just leave. This was going to be tricky.
Lilly looked at the monstrous hound. It was smaller than Tristan's bear, but larger than their wolves. It looked incredibly dangerous. She wanted to protect Tristan... even though he was there to protect her.
Don't worry about me. I can handle this thing. The problem is Abaddon and his wolfsbane. I don't want you two near him. Tristan's voice rang in both Tyler and Lilly's head.
This couldn't be helped. With Tristan unable to fight Abaddon, that only left Jax and Kira who could fight him. Tristan... don't worry about us. You just take care of what is in front of you. Please. Don't get distracted. Lilly begged him. She was afraid they would be a vulnerability to him. They could pull this off. Lilly knew it. They could win... but it would take all of them.
We can win this. All of us need to do our part though. Trust in each other. Lilly linked with the wolves and Tristan.
The demon wolves took a few spaced-out steps closer. The anticipation of the battle was rising. The tension was building up as both sides were bracing for what was to come.
In a blur they attacked. Wolves charged forward. The hell hound leaped. And Abaddon waited.
The battle had begun. Kira ran in front of Rosa prompting her to flee with the boys. Rosa blinded the wolves as she ran off with the children.
Suzaku! Lilly yelled. Instantly the fiery phoenix entered the fray. Don't let anything pass towards them!
The wolves began to recover from the blindness as a fiery wall spread before them. Allowing for Rosa and the two children to disappear into the woods.
Kira lashed a whip of fire over the wolves as she leaped into them. She was fighting the group of wolves with the aid of Suzaku. She felt fangs begin to sink into her side, but was suddenly removed. Jax ripped into the wolf's neck. Blood poured everywhere as it's body sunk to the ground. He attacked with out mercy. Everything he encountered, he was giving a death sentence.
Abaddon growled and then looked off in the distance. Suddenly, he raced in the direction where Rosa and the children escaped to. The fiery wall had no effect on him as he dashed through it.
Jax raced after him. Kira tried to as well, but was surrounded by another batch of wolves.
They kept coming. No matter how many she fought off. No matter how many she burned. Even with Suzaku... they kept coming. Like lambs for the s********.
That was it. They were just there to be slaughtered. They were a distraction. Abaddon was letting them be senselessly slaughtered... His objectives were killing Tristan and Tyler.
Kira looked over at Tristan. He had blood dripping from his body. He was panting heavy. The hellhound was showing no signs of stopping. Kade, Cedric and the centaurs were facing off with more wolves. Another group lunged towards Lilly. Then, behind her she could hear the sounds of two wolves clashing. Jax and Abaddon were battling alone.
She needed to get to Jax. She needed to help him. With every wound Jax would get from Abaddon, there would be more and more wolfsbane in his system. This was the reason for the disconnect. He didn't want her feeling his pain. He didn't want her to know how bad he was being injured. He planned this from the beginning. He already knew he was going to fight with Abaddon.
The desperation rose inside of her. The sound of fighting echoed in her mind. The need to protect rose inside of her. She had to protect them. She had to protect him!
In that moment. When things were looking bad... they suddenly became worse. Charging down towards them was another small band of creatures. They were imps, creatures of the darkness. The situation was becoming grim.
