Chapter 106

Edith was mentally exhausted at the sound of that. Her uncle was obviously pushing her to a dead end!

“Uncle Carlos, what the hell do you want?”

“I’ll torture you slowly. This is the price you have to pay for drinking too much!”

“What did you say to me when I was drinking? Why am I so hateful?” Edith asked bitterly.

“If you remember what happened last night, then I’ll let you go. Think about it carefully!” Carlos stood up straight.

Just then, Susan knocked on the door. “Mr. Lawson, Simon is here. He wants to see you.”

With that, Edith became tense and started to tremble.

Edith looked at Carlos in panic and exclaimed, “What should I do? My husband is here. If he sees us sleeping together, I’m dead meat.”

Carlos frowned upon hearing that as well as he wondered about Simon’s purpose for visiting him here.

“Don’t worry. No one can do anything to you with me here.”

Carlos put on his clothes and was about to go out when Edith dressed up as well, looking like she was about to follow him

out.

“What are you going out for?”

“I… I’m going to see my supposed husband…” Edith stammered.

“Don’t say that in front of me in the future. Stay here obediently. Don’t come out without my permission.”

Carlos was irritated. He did not like it when Edith referred to someone else as her husband. As her real husband, he felt uncomfortable every time he heard that. Plus, if she were to meet Simon, she would know that everything was fake.

Carlos did not want to leave a bad impression on her. Even if Edith was going to find out soon, he did not want it to happen. under such circumstances.

Edith felt aggrieved upon hearing that.

“What? This is Simon’s villa. Why did he act like this was his place? This uncle of mine has stolen someone else’s wife, and now he wants to take over the house too?” she thought.

But no matter how angry Edith was, she could do nothing as she was still locked up in the room.

The moment the door opened, Edith seemed to have seen Simon.

Simon was thin, and his face was sickly pale. He looked fragile, but there was a gentle smile on his face, which made him appear to be healthy to others.

Edith wanted to take another look, but the door was already closed.

Moreover, the soundproof walls in the room were so good that she could not hear anything from outside.

Simon saw Edith’s face as well. Although it was only a glance, her bright and clear eyes were already deeply engraved in his mind.

Chapter 106

They were dazzling, like the stars in the sky.

“Is that Uncle Carlos‘ wife?” Simon wondered.

Excitedly, Simon asked. ‘Is that your wife? Why don’t you let her come out so I can meet her?”

“She made a mistake, so she has to reflect on her mistakes behind closed doors.” Seeing how excited Simon was, Carlos was displeased and dragged him away from the room.

Simon was stunned upon hearing that. That was indeed his uncle’s style of doing things. As Carlos was so strict and vicious, Simon believed that punishing his wife in such a way was something Carlos would do.

Simon swallowed his saliva and pleaded. “I think your wife is just around my age. She’s still very young so uncle, you’d better not be too strict with her. After all, she’s your wife. You should adore her after marrying her. Isn’t it bad for you to punish her this way?”

“Are you trying to say that you want to get married 100?”

Carlos narrowed his eyes and spoke in a sinister tone.

Those words scared Simon to his wits because he feared getting married the most!

Simon just waved his hand repeatedly and said with a hollow smile, “Forget about what I said. I came to ask you some business–related questions this time. I don’t understand a lot of the contract items…”

Simon had a good relationship with Carlos. Even though his father, brother, and uncle were not on good terms, Simon still liked hanging out with Carlos.

That was because Carlos was truly brilliant.

On top of that, Carlos took great care of Simon as well.

While Carlos was explaining things to Simon patiently, his phone rang. It was his work mobile, which was also the phone number he had asked Ned to give to Edith.

It was a text message from Edith asking for help.

“Honey, help me! I’m locked up by Uncle Carlos! He wants to steal your wife away. You can’t agree to that because you’re a

true man!”
