Rachel and Derek meet in a nightclub where she's celebrating her birthday with her friends. They're attracted to each other and she ends up going home with him and they have a one-night stand. A few months later, Rachel shows up at Derek's office and she's pregnant. He humiliates her and kicks her out. Heartbroken, she leaves with the determination to raise her baby alone.
