Chapter 63

Collins POV Maddie is seriously delusional. When she started screaming at Cora and then made Cora faint, all I could think about was getting to Cora and helping her. But Dalton and Nicolas held me back, and they were right to stop me. Maddie was furious and was screaming at me for about an hour afterward. I even bought a camera with a remote control stashed in the living room, to try to keep all the videos of her rantings as she always ends up, saying things that she didn't mean to because she clearly needs some help. When she kissed me in front of Cora, I was so angry, and Cora was so upset she literally passed out. That was over a month ago, and I don't know how much longer I can go on. Maddie is a b***h, and she keeps trying to sleep with me, and I keep dodging her advances, but she keeps trying. I have woken up three times this month to find her naked in my bed. I need to get Nicholas to get in touch with his friend at the FBI and see what the holdup is. I needed to hold Cora, I was dying inside without getting to see her, or hug her. I would be willing to give it all up, right now, and start my business from scratch, then be with Maddie.

I had heard Maddie screaming about something earlier this week, and going off for about an hour, but then she seemed to get over it. She wanted to go to the show today to see Mateo's fall line, but Maddie was served with papers that said if she showed up, then she would be arrested. I guess they figured out that she would be coming since I had two tickets to go. Maddie refused to let me go by myself because she knows I have a little bit of a thing for Shae. Maddie went around mumbling half the day about Cora, and then Shae before she said that she was going to go take a bath. She was in there for over an hour, and I could hear her talking on her phone, but I didn't know or care about what was going on with her. Come to think of it, she doesn't have any friends that I know of, only acquaintances, so I have no idea who she was talking to there for so long. Maddie came out later in only a robe. I know this because she climbed into my lap and started grinding against me and then opened her robe. I need this nightmare to stop right now. Two months ago, I would have had no problem with it. But now I am with Cora and only she will do for me. I get a picture from my brother, and it is of Shea going down the runway in a bikini, with some white cover-up floating along behind her. I keep staring at her body and it hits me, that is Cora. Shae is Cora! Hold s**t! How did I miss that? I am stunned at the thought of this. No wonder I was attracted to both of them, they were one and the same person.

Later, when I went to use the bathroom, I saw one of Maddie's magazines open and dog-eared and left open an article on Mateo and his line. I turn the page and see my sister, Cora, and Emily all posing for the article. Now that I realize that Cora is Shae, it is obvious to me, I don't know how I didn't realize it earlier. I guess because she was always on the runway, and I never really got close to her, and now that the magazine is out and you can see her clearer, then you can see that she is Cora. Their build was the same, the same thing that turned me on about Cora, were the same things that turned me on about Shae. I guess I was just so focused on trying to "get" Shea that I never realized that Cora was actually Shea. No wonder she was always at the show, she was the headliner. I am an ****t. No wonder my sister tried to warn me over and over. They all knew. I suddenly realized that all of my friends knew that Cora was Shae, and no one told me. I came out of the restroom and went through the living room and saw Maddie grinning at the TV, and I walked up to see what she was watching. I see Cora in her home looking like a deer in the headlights and then I hear the terrible questions that are being called out to her. Inferring that she is the slut, dating me and Mateo at the same time and that Maddie is somehow the victim in all of this. She is disgusting in how she twisted this, as Maddie is the slut in this equation. Then I see that Cora gets knocked down by the reporters entering her house and pushing her down. I see her father come up and try to protect her and then he gets knocked down and I see him bleeding on the floor. Good Lord, was that what Maddie had been doing in the bathroom? I bet she recognized her in the magazine pictures because they were so clear, so she created a fake scandal and sent them to Cora's house. I want her out of my house right now. I never want to see her again. I need to leave. I need to know that Cora is OK. Suddenly a familiar voice rings out and I turn back to see Thomas Grady, my investigator, taking pictures, and then start recording a video of everyone that had been present there and telling them that the police were on the way. Thank God for Thomas. I am so glad I had him watching out for Cora. I just wished that he had gotten there before she had gotten hurt.

I need to leave and see Nicolas and tell him what Maddie just did and have Jack make sure that he gets assault charges applied to Maddie for setting this up. I head out the door and Maddie comes running after me screaming at me that I "better not leave". I told her, "I am going to go see my friends Nicolas and Dalton and maybe have a drink. Leave me alone for a little while. I need a break from you right now, Maddie. You are here all the time, and at work all the time, and I just need a break from you. Please leave me alone". I then turned and walked away. I need to be able to call Thomas and make sure that Cora and her dad are OK. I am really worried about her. I called Nicolas and told him what I had seen on TV, and he told me that he saw it too and had already spoken to Jack.

Nicolas said, "Jack is now checking the taps on Maddie's phone due to Cora getting hurt, and her father as well. Maddie setting it up was going to be several new charges, but right now she was just 20 years in prison at the last check, before today. Jack is working on it every day. I don't know how much more time Maddie will get for the assaults she set up. We may have to step up our game plan, Collin, as I saw Cora today and she didn't look good. We may need to all get together to make plans to try to speed this up and get it over with. When he gets back to me, I will let you know". I then called Thomas to see how Cora was doing and I needed to know that she was OK.

"How is Cora doing, Thomas? Did she get hurt? I definitely want Nicolas to go after every single one of them that assaulted her and her dad. How is her dad?" I kept asking questions and Thomas finally had to interrupt me.

"She is OK, at least that is what she told me. She caught herself with her arm and they said that they believed that it was just going to be a pulled or strained muscle, and probably just leave a bruise, but that they had to run more tests on her for her to be able to get an X-ray to make sure that she didn't just break or chip a bone. Her dad will be kept overnight. He took a pretty hard blow and lost a lot of blood, but head wounds usually bleed a lot. With him being weak from the Chemo, they want to make sure that he is thoroughly checked out before they let him leave", Thomas told me.

"I was so worried about her when I saw it on TV, but I was glad when you came in and made them leave. There was nothing I can do, right now, other than depending on you to keep her safe", I told Thomas.

"Collin, they all of a sudden pulled up right in front of her house, right when Cora got home, three vehicles and I got all their vehicle plates and the names off the side of the vehicles. She went to unlock her front door and they just came barging right in. I got there as they were pushing her dad down. I just needed to get all their faces and get a little video of my own. When faced with personal injury lawsuits, people will usually turn the culprits in, to keep from being sued themselves. So, I will get that nailed down for you, now that they know where she lives, she will not be safe there. She is going to have to think of somewhere else to live until we can get Maddie taken care of as she is more vicious than I gave her credit for. I already gave her a heads up on the way to the hospital, that she may need to move to another location so she can be safer. I drove her as her mom rode with her father in the ambulance. I don't know who she will stay with, but I did plant the seed. I think she realizes that to keep her parents safe, she might need to take herself out of the equation for a little bit until this passes. Maddie is getting more dangerous than any of us thought she could be, and she may do something that could really hurt Cora." Thomas said to me.

"We are going to be getting together this week to make some plans to keep Cora safe and speed up Maddie getting put away with at least 60 years on her. I don't want her coming back and hurting Cora or our children. I want Maddie to go away and stay away from us, so we will make plans this week, because I cannot keep staying away from Cora. I love her", I told Thomas.

"I am glad you do, because I could not find anything on Shea for you, it is like she doesn't exist", Thomas told me, and I had forgotten that I had asked him about 3 months ago to look into Shea for me.

"You can forget looking into Shea, Cora is Shea. Cora's pictures were in Vogue and that is how Maddie figured it out. I just figured it out today too", I told Thomas.

"And you love Cora?" Thomas asked me.

"I do, Thomas, I love her more than any woman I have ever been with" I told him.

"Congratulations, I am glad to hear it. I hope we can get this finished soon, so you can claim your rightful bride and you can be clear of Maddie.
