Fated To Roman: The Almighty Alpha -
Thirty
Cleo's POV
As the candles disappeared, I couldn't help but feel agitated. It felt as though everyone including my mate was against me as they all stood idly by watching as I entered a candlelit circle that could have ended me quicker than the blink of an eye. Warm tingles spread throughout my fingers the tickle feeling growing stronger the more wound up I got.
"Is that how you protect your sons' pup? Your sick in the fucking head all of you!" As I screamed at my mate and his father's my hand went from warm to burning hot. Roman's eyes flickering to that of his wolf he stepped towards me. "DO NOT COME NEAR ME" raising my arm in his direction a bright red glow appeared. Before I could even blink a flow of fire headed straight for him. I wanted to close my eyes knowing I could have likely harmed my mate yet somehow, I couldn't look away. It was as if time had slowed down everyone around me standing still all except for Roman. He moved quicker than anything I had ever seen creating a shield of water using nothing more than the tiny droplets that sat on top of the damp ground.
"Cleo breath. In through the nose and out from the mouth." Roman was suddenly directly in front of me holding onto my hands as his eyes bore into mine.
"Roman be careful you don't know what she is truly capable of!" Hearing the sound of Axels voice the heat was quick to return. Letting out a feral sounding growl I shoved Roman aside throwing fire directly into him. "I wouldn't waste your time love." The way he laughed caught me off guard. "Do you forget that I was born a fire element?" Truthfully, I had however now the story Roman had told me sprung straight to the forefront of my mind.
"Axel don't!" As the fire died out my breath caught in my throat as I witnessed Axel standing there completely unscathed. He may have been born an element, but he no longer had a wolf so it should have seriously harmed him. "How's this possible?" Roman gripped my arm pulling me behind him as he stepped towards his father.
"After your mother's funeral I will explain everything, but only too you."
"Like hell you will. You will explain here and now and in front of Cleo. She is a part of this family!" My body trembled as Roman let his alpha aura slip.
"She is not now, nor will she ever be a part of this family! If being half demon wasn't enough, she is also the daughter of Hades." Roman launched forwards punching his father straight in the jaw. I expected Axel to retaliate but instead he wiped the blood from his mouth and turned to walk away stopping in his tracks to speak. "Give your mother today. Let her be put to rest peacefully, he deserves at least that. We will talk about the rest of this tomorrow." I watched as Hector patted Axel on the shoulder before placing a sweet and delicate kiss on his cheek. This had been the first time I had seen them being remotely intimate my heart breaking knowing it was Athena that had bought them together holding them in place like an indestructible glue. I just hoped that their bond was strong enough to survive without her.

"Ignore his words, Cleo. You are family don't let what he said make you think any different. His dislike for anyone other than a wolf stems from his own mother's wrong doings. Not that its an excuse. Just give him time, today is a hard day for not only us but the entirety or two packs along with the Royal Kingdom. Speaking of which Roman, your grandparents will be arriving shortly. Please make sure you are both by Kai and Kaylee's side. You may not be this packs alpha, but you are still your mothers first born. I don't think I need to remind you what that means." Furrowing my brows confused with Hectors words I looked to Roman who sighed as he nodded his head. Hector gently gripped my shoulders his eyes lingering on my own for a second before the brief hint of a smile played at his lips before he kissed my cheek. Turning to Roman he gripped his head kissing the top of it.
Once we were alone Roman snaked his arms around my waist pulling me flush against him. Resting his forehead against mine he closed his eyes his heartrate evening out. Gripping my chin, he tilted my head upwards his lips suddenly over lapping mine. His tongue teased my bottom lip as it asked permission to enter. As we ran out of air we finally broke apart.

When the time came for greeting Roman's grandparents, I became extremely nauseous. Never in my life had I expected to meet the King and Queen of The Royal Kingdom. When they pulled up in front of the pack house, I couldn't believe how much Roman resembled his grandfather. There was no denying he was related. He held the same strong jawline, the same gorgeous eyes and the same build. As I stood there stuck in my thoughts Romans hand came across my face wiping my mouth. Heat instantly rose to my face my cheeks instantly becoming flushed with embarrassment.
"Something about my grandfather you like?" Roman held a teasing look to his eyes however behind that I knew he was slightly jealous and who could blame him. My panties had become damp, and I hadn't even realised. "I... I don't know what your mean." My lie left me feeling dirty, though it didn't leave me feeling as ashamed as the wetness between my legs had. I wasn't only pregnant, but I was mated. The only man that should turn me on should be my
mate.
"Hmm I can smell your arousal, Cleo. Once the day is over, I will make you scream my name so loud that you will have forgotten all about checking out my grandfather." And I knew he meant it. Roman's POV
The day was quick to pass and soon it came time for the church service. Each member of the pack had taken their seats before we arrived as per tradition. Next to enter was my grandparents followed by my fathers then Layla and her family, myself and Cleo, then Kai and Kaylee. Henrik was going to provide the service as it was something that my parents had spoken about years before now. As we took our seats Henrik walked in behind us lighting the candles throughout the chapel with a wave of his hand.
"On behalf of Athena's family, friends and most of all her mates, I would like to welcome you to Athena's Celebration of life. For that is exactly what this gathering is. Athena wouldn't want us to be sat around feeling sorry and sad for she was always a joy and a light in all of our lives." Only she was so much more. My mother was the only person that truly understood me when it came to who I was. Sure, my fathers were there for me, Axel taught me how to control my fire element, only it was my mother that made me feel safe enough to accept who I was. "Even while fighting the depression, she suffered with years ago she never once lost her infectious positive attitude. The aura that surrounded her personified hope and knowing that made us realise we too could overcome any obstacle we were to face. Athena never gave up that hope knowing how much she was loved by friends and family who supported her through the entirety of her life. She was a strong kind hearted woman who did not want to be felt sorry for. Athena was always thinking of others first placing them and their needs before her own because that was her nature. She could turn even the coldest of hearts warm and I should know because she certainly melted mine. Though in my defence she was a pup and an adorable one at that." Everyone in attendance chuckled. When the service began, I expected it to be a heavy hearted service. One where we would feel more depressed and sadder leaving then before we came, but I was wrong. Henrik was doing my mother proud, and I knew she would be watching over us listening in. Because whether she liked it or not that's also who she was, nosey. Though there wouldn't be anything I wouldn't do just to have her stick her nose in my business one more time. "Athena touched all of us in one way or another. Not in that way guys so calm down." Again, everyone chuckled at Henrik's inappropriate comment. "But no honestly, it was her lover for all of us that made this pack what it is today. Sure, the previous leaders did a good job, but hats off to Athena. Its now though that I would like to personally extend my condolences as I say goodbye to a wonderful woman, mother, daughter and Luna. King Jake, Queen Angel, you both raised a beautiful daughter, and she really was a credit to the both of you. Though she may be gone know that her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her children. If you would all now join me in bowing our heads while we give Athena, the respect she deserves with two minutes of silence."
