Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) -
Chapter 1115
Yeah, she was totally trying to lure Carson!
She must've had her eyes on him on the field. Switching up her outfit, putting on makeup, acting all helpless - guys were just into that kind of stuff.
Wasn't that how she nabbed Freddy in the past?
Poor ol' Freddy, lying all battered in a hospital bed, while his once pure and captivating girl was off tempting other men!
Marina just found it hilarious!
Carson was a worldly guy, and there was no way he can't see through Cindy's games. He just kept his poker face and smiled, "If it's Freddy who sent you, you should be looking for him, not me." Cindy was taken aback, quickly putting on a serious face to show her backbone. "Although I'm dating Freddy, I've never used his money. This money I have was earned through my own hard work." "Really?" Carson raised an eyebrow, a smirk creeping on his face. "You don't spend your boyfriend's money but you come asking me for money. Do I owe you something?" Marina was thrilled to see Carson wasn't fooled by Cindy's act. She even forgave him for his antics on the field earlier.
Cindy bit her lower lip, looking even more pitiful. "Could you lend me some money? Just ten thousand dollars. I can pay you back two thousand a month, and I'll pay it all off within six months."
Marina was starting to admire Cindy. Borrowing ten grand and paying it off over six months, that meant she'd have a chance to get close to Carson every month. Then she could play her games, it would be impossible for Carson not falling for her that way.
No wonder she got her butt kicked!
Marina couldn't hold it in anymore!
Before Carson could say anything, she walked over, wrapped her arm around his, looked up and gave a flirty smile, "Honey, who are you chatting with?"
Carson looked at the flirtatious expression on the girl's face and chuckled, "Cindy. Do you know her?"
Only then did Marina turn to Cindy, feigning surprise, "Cindy? Weren't you here with Freddy? Freddy's hurt and why aren't you taking care of him, but chatting up my boyfriend instead?" Cindy looked flustered, giving a somewhat embarrassed laugh, "Haven't you always loved Freddy? You've got a new boyfriend so soon after breaking up?"
Marina turned to Carson, poking his chest playfully, "Watch out, my ex was stolen by her, and now she's after you!"
Cindy's face turned sour.
Carson held her hand, smiling faintly, "What are you talking about? Cindy just came to borrow some money. Plus, I love you so much, nobody can steal me away. Don't worry." Cindy looked wronged, her eyes welling up with tears, "Marina, what are you talking about? It was Freddy who pursued me in the beginning, but I knew he had a girlfriend. So, I rejected him many times. Only after he broke up with you did I consider being with him. Today, I came to Mr. Foster because I have nowhere else to turn. I might not even have enough money for the bus fare home."
"Really that pathetic?" Marina widened her eyes, shaking her head, "That's so sad, I can't bear to watch. You want to borrow money? I can lend you some. I may not be as good at seducing men as you, but I've got plenty of cash. Just name your price!"
Carson couldn't help but want to laugh, biting his lip to hold it back.
A flash of coldness appeared in Cindy's eyes, but her face looked like she was about to cry, "You don't need to target me like this. I've never wronged you. I don't need the money."
With that, she choked back a sob, covered her mouth with her hand, and turned to leave.
Marina waved her off, "Watch your step!"
Carson could no longer hold back his laughter, leaning against the wall and laughing out loud.
