She thought the worst Baron could do was to snub Lydia, never imagining he'd be audacious enough to kidnap her!

The call was still connected, just muted, when Gabriel approached, "Let's check her location, where is Lydia?"

Sylvia nodded, tracing Lydia's call to find her moving away from the downtown area, her location constantly shifting towards the southwest. Gabriel handed Sylvia her coat, "Let's go."

Sylvia slipped into her coat and said to Milanda, "Keep this under wraps for now. We don't want to cause a panic. We're going to find Lydia!" Milanda looked utterly lost, shaking her head. "It's too risky for just you and Mr. Carnes to go. Shouldn't we call the police?"

"If Baron dared to kidnap Lydia, he's surely prepared traps. How will you two manage alone?"

"No need for the police," Sylvia said calmly. "Don't worry, once we've rescued Lydia, I'll let you know!"

Milanda was still worried, "Boss,"

Sylvia gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder and said to Gabriel, "Let's go."

Gabriel drove, following the location tracker.

As night fell, they drove for over an hour, moving away from the city center and into a suburban area surrounded by nature reserves.

Eventually, they reached a wooden cabin deep in the forest and parked outside.

The night was pitch black, with towering trees all around casting heavy shadows. Only the cabin emitted a harsh white light, offering no warmth in the chilly winter night, but instead a cold, piercing sensation. Before getting out, Gabriel turned to Sylvia, "Don't try to be a hero!"

Sylvia nodded, "I'll follow your lead."

With a light smile, Gabriel got out of the car.

They approached the cabin together and upon entering, saw Lydia tied to a central post.

Lydia was stripped down to her undergarments, a T-shirt stuffed in her mouth. Seeing Sylvia and Gabriel enter, she made a muffled sound of pain and fear.

The cabin was spacious, apparently a storage area for park maintenance tools, with several utility carts parked on the side.

Sylvia's gaze turned icy as she moved towards Lydia.

"Stay where you are, don't move!"

Baron emerged, followed by over twenty people from behind the vehicles, two armed with guns and the others wielding bats and knives.

Audrey was there too, hopping onto a vehicle roof, dressed in camo gear and boots, looking cool yet with a cold, hateful glare fixed on Sylvia and Gabriel.

Sylvia turned to Baron, her voice cold, "Have you lost all humanity? Lydia is your cousin!"

Baron sneered, "Cousin? She came here acting all high and mighty. It's about time someone taught her a lesson."

Sylvia glanced at him and continued towards Lydia.

"I said, don't move!" Baron shouted again.

Ignoring him, Sylvia kept walking forward.

Enraged, Baron snatched a gun from someone nearby, aiming at Sylvia.

As he lifted the gun, Gabriel leapt forward, kicking Baron's wrist with a crack. The gun flew from his grasp as his wrist snapped.

The other gunman immediately aimed at Gabriel but before he could fire, Gabriel had already caught the falling gun and shot back. With a loud bang, the gunman was hit in the shoulder, screaming in pain.
