Charlie's ride was here and he'd already hopped in.

As Waters watched Charlie head off, she felt a bit bummed out.

Jane strolled over, a smile on her face, "Waters, why didn't you leave with Charlie?"

"Almost had him!" Waters sighed, sounding a tad disappointed, "Didn't you say Charlie was easy to approach? Did I not have enough charm?"

Jane laughed, "If you're lacking in charm, then we might as well not even call ourselves women!"

She paused, seemingly lost in thought, "Charlie has been laying low recently, no new girlfriends as far as I know, but with your qualities, you'll definitely have a shot." Waters responded non-committally, "How are you going home?"

"I'm hitching a ride with Andrew. You?"

Waters jiggled her car keys, "Drove here myself. Since you've got a ride, I won't bother you. Anyway, thanks for bringing me here to meet Charlie."

"No problem!" Jane waved it off, "I should get going, we'll catch up soon."

"Sure thing!"

With a bright smile, Waters waved goodbye.

She wanted to make a name for herself in J City, to stand out in the J City branch office, and she had to latch onto the James family. That was why she came to the party.

She thought she could maybe use her looks to snag Charlie, but he didn't give her the time of day.

But this just sparked her competitive spirit. She didn't believe that with her looks and figure, she couldn't bag Charlie.

Waters smirked a determined smirk and made her way to her car.

Charlie sat in his car, gazing at the passing night view. He felt a void in his chest, as if it was filled with the evening breeze, causing a restless echo that was making him irritable. The driver suddenly spoke, "Mr. James, your order has arrived. As per your instructions, it's been delivered."

"Hmm." Charlie responded, pausing slightly before adding, "Take me to the Royal Mansion."

He walked in, switched on the lights, and was met with a familiar yet melancholy feeling.

It was as if someone would come out of the kitchen with a shy smile and two adorable dimples, calling out, "Charlie!"

He stood there for a while, as if waiting for that person, even though he knew she'd never appear.

After a while, Charlie moved to the living room and noticed the Lego castle box in the middle.

He got a pair of scissors, opened the box, poured out the contents, and started assembling it according to the instructions.

With the AC on and the temperature rising, he just took off his jacket, sat cross-legged on the floor, and focused on his castle.

In the quiet of the night, Charlie's phone on the couch buzzed occasionally, but he paid it no mind, engrossed in his project. It seemed to give him more joy than the women calling him.

At two in the morning, Charlie placed a completed section on the coffee table, looking at it with satisfaction. It wasn't until he couldn't keep his eyes open any longer that Charlie tidied up and went to bed. That night, he slept soundly, as if he'd finally found something to fill the void in his heart.

Two days later, Estelle officially returned to the set. Gwen and Craig thought she was late and insisted she treat them to lunch as an apology.
