First Love Of The Alpha -
Chapter 75 – The End
Landyns POV
My Alpha ceremony was finally here. I can’t say things in the pack have gone perfectly because that would be far from the truth.
It seems that Lily and Raya worked through whatever issues were between them. Well, at least being civil.
Lily’s mom told her to just drop it and that she would support whatever Lily wanted.
I was more concerned about the tension between Raya and Prince Charles. They barely looked at each other.
I knew there was more to Prince Charles and Maureens’ mom’s story. I just wasn’t expecting what Lily had told me.
She fully believes that her dad would have chosen Maureens’ mom if he knew she was pregnant.
She’s honestly shocked he didn’t choose Laura anyway. From what it sounds like, he really loved her.
If he didn’t get together with Raya, we wouldn’t have Lily, and I just can’t imagine my life without her.
I was slowly getting myself ready for my Alpha ceremony. Lily and Amber picked me out a suit that I was really dreading putting on.
I felt a link coming in, so I opened up the link. “Landyn, if you’re not in that suit by the time I get up there, I swear I’ll kick your a*s. I got myself and the twins ready already, so it really shouldn’t be taking you so long.”
I sounded a little more smart assy than I should have. I know I’ll probably pay for it later. “Yes, your majesty.”
“Cut the crap.”
I couldn’t help but laugh. She’s been hanging out with Amber for far too long. She was getting sassy.
I heard a knock on the door and started to panic. “Hang on Lil just a second. “
“It’s not Lily, it’s Myles. Now hurry up and open this door.”
As soon as I opened the door, he had his suit in his hand and barged in, and slammed the door. “Hurry, she’s coming, and if she’s sees both of us not dressed, she will murder us both. “
We both lightly laughed. It was ridiculous. We were both scared of one little woman.
We both got a link. “Boys, I know you’re both together, and I’m five minutes away, so you better hurry.”
We both instantly stopped laughing and rushed around the room, getting dressed.
I had my dress shoes half tied when Lily barged in. “Hey, I could have been naked. you should have knocked.”
Myles let out a small growl.
Lily shook her head at the both of us. “No, the both of you should have been ready. You both do realize you’re already twenty minutes late. The pack is waiting for us. We need to show them that we can do this. Now let’s go.”
I quickly finished, and Lily came over and fixed mine and Myles ties, and we headed down.
Lily stopped us at the top of the stairs. She was clearly linking someone, and my guess was Amber. Her, Lily, and Louise planned the whole thing.
After a few minutes, everyone met us at the top of the stairs. Lily looked at me like I suddenly forgot what we rehearsed. She was totally singling me out. “Okay, your dad is going to introduce us all to our pack and visitors, and then we will do the b***d oaths.”
“I know, Lil.”
She scowled me.
Everyone lined up in order, starting with my delta Brody and Amber, and then My gamma Conner and Louise and then my beta Myles and Lily.
I looked down at all my friends and their mates, and I was here standing alone. I just hope it won’t be for too long.
I heard Rodger go through the speakers. “All right, everyone, it is that time to announce our newest ranked members and start the b***d oaths with Elder Nick Pearce, the head chair of the council. “
The crowd started cheering. It was very rare that Nick would come to witness and do the b***d oath. He usually doesn’t attend these sort of things anymore.
I’m guessing Lily’s parents and grandparents had a huge part in it. Especially since they are still staying at our pack. Not many people get the opportunity to meet the king. including the elders.
Rodger called our names and watched everyone go down the stairs into the ballroom and took a stand next to Rodger on stage. I was nervous that this would be the first time the pack would hear of my name change. I’m not ready to call Rodger dad, but I figured this would be a good first step, and that way, it wouldn’t be so confusing to others.
Rodgers voice boomed through the speakers. “I now announce Alpha Landyn Whitley.”
I extended the stairs slowly. The nerves I once felt were long gone, and I was ready to do this. I couldn’t help the emotion that went through me thinking of Ben in this moment. He should be here, standing next to me like it was always supposed to be.
Lily looked up at me, and I noticed she had tears in her eyes as well. I didn’t need to read her mind to know she was feeling exactly the same way.
The room got quiet as we took turns pledging to the pack, starting with Brody and Amber.
When it got to me, Rodger put his hand on my shoulder and made me look him in the eye. I think he noticed how emotional Lily and I were. “I’m proud of you, you can do this….Ben knows you can do this. He always had faith in you.”
He smiled at me. Elder Nick sliced my hand and drained some of my b***d into a golden chalice where the rest of the ranked members drained some of their b***d.
Elder Nick voice becomes louder than before. “Do you, Landyn Jack Whitley, swear to protect and serve the pack with its best interests at heart? Do you swear to continue to provide shelter, safety, and security for all pack members? Do you swear that any decisions that you make for the pack won’t compromise anything i just said?”
Yikes, i think he might be questioning what I’m about to do. King Michael said there were a few Elders questioning me, letting a rogue, a witch. and two half breeds in the pack. But King Michael assured me they eventually all became on board after he said he stood by it, especially after he announced one was his granddaughter.”
“I Landyn Jack Whitley swear to all of the above.” I took a sip of the chalice and passed it down the line. I felt the power cericit through me in a tidal wave.
I watched all my ranked members feel the wave of power I just felt.
After everyone took a drink. Elder Nick went over the speakers. “I now announce the new ranked members of the Black Moon Pack.”
The crowd cheered and roared, and I felt the excitement in the room. I saw a few of the older members questioning Rodgers decision for me to take over, but I guess that really doesn’t matter now.
The rest of the ranked members got off the stage beside Rodger and Elder Nick. It was time for me to make my announcement.
Elder Nick ushered for everyone to be quiet once again.
I got over the speakers. “I will make this short and sweet so we can eat, drink, and dance and celebrate the next generation. I want to start by letting you all know how excited I am and how serious I take this next adventure, and I promise to lead you all in the best way I can. I also want to announce that we will accept some new pack members into our pack tonight. Some of you may not agree, but I promise because of what these individuals went through and risked for our pack, including their lives. I didn’t even hesitate when I asked them to join us.”
I saw way many to concerned and confused expressions on the faces of my pack members.
“I first want to announce that Maureen Winters, and yes, I said winters will be joining our pack along with Andrew Brinkley, Ace Moore, and Bre Stiles.”
One of the older pack members yelled through the crowd. “Ace Moore, as in Phil Moore, half breed son?”
I heard another one shout, “How can the one witch be a Winters”
I roared loudly silencing everyone. King Michael came on stage letting out some of his aura. “Maureen is my granddaughter, and I approved everything about these new pack members. Their pasts are no longer relevant and won’t be used against any of them. Am I clear?”
They all bared their necks out of respect. King Michael continued. “Times are changing. I would like to think that this pack would be more accepting of that. I don’t want anyone rejecting another just because they may be different than us. I don’t give a damn if there a witch, a warlock, a human, or a goddman vampire. If they are pure and good, they deserve a chance. These kind people have been through a lot. More than many of you combined, and I expect you all to give them the chance they deserve and need. If I hear of anything that suggests there are being tormented and disrespected, I personally will come here and take care of it myself.”
Everyone nodded at once and bowed their heads.
I continued to talk now that it seemed like the questions were done. “Okay, we will continue the ceremony for the new pack members.”
I sliced each of there hand with the same dagger that was used on me. The each sipped from the chalice and embraced the feeling of new pack members.
I decided to link Maureen to f**k with her. “What you thinking.”
She looked at me, and I linked her again. “You freaked out?”
I watched her eyes bulged out slightly. But she figured out how to link back. “So f*****g weird.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle. She was to fricken adorable.
I went over the speakers again. “I now announce the newest pack members of Black Moon pack. Now everyone enjoy the three course meal and dessert and drink and dance the night away.”
They all gave me a round of applause. I went to excit the stage when I noticed a shadow behind one of the pillars. I swear I saw my dad leaning against it. I couldn’t figure out for the life of me why he would come back here and how I didn’t know that he was back or on pack grounds.
I stalked towars the pillar when I noticed Silas standing next to him, and before I could even grasp what I just saw, they were gone.
Maureens POV
I felt everyone’s eyes on me as soon as I stepped off the stage. If I didn’t feel the constant nagging feeling like someone was watching me before, I do now.
I’ve just felt off, beyond off. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to happen or that I was just completely missing something. I just couldn’t figure out what it was.
I tried to shrug it off all day trying to help make this a day special for my sister and our friends, but I was just a complete mess.
I went for a walk earlier to the waterfall Lily told me about, and the entire time, I felt someone was following me. Everytime I looked around there was no one.
I’ve convinced myself that I’m just going crazy over the exhaustion and not being near Ben. I’ve been sneaking down at night, so no one knows. I just can’t help but feel drawn to him. Stupid beloved bond or mate bond, whatever it’s fricken called. Either way, it sucks.
I took a seat between Lily and Louise when I noticed Landyn tense up and stare directly behind the pillars. He started to head in that direction quickly
I got up abruptly and followed in the direction he was going. It didn’t go unnoticed all the awkward stares i was still continuing to get every time i even flinched.
I went and stood next to Landyn and looked at the direction he was looking at, but there was nothing there.
“Are you okay, Landyn?”
He jumped slightly like he hadn’t noticed that I was standing next to him. “Yeah, I’m good. Just thought I saw something. It’s no big deal.”
He walked away and headed toward our table. I looked around the pillar where he was staring at one more time and still saw nothing. I could definitely sense that someone was there before though, but who?
I looked over at him confused, and he just put his head down he was definitely hiding something from me.
I’ll give him today, but tomorrow I want answers.
I returned to my seat, and Lily whispered in my ear. “Everything okay, or should I be starting to worry?”
“It’s all good!”
Landyn sat across from me and watched the interaction between Lily and I. I think he knew that I knew something was definitely up.
I gave him a little chivalrous grin and wave like he likes to do to me, and he instantly looked away.
Our dinner arrived right after that, starting with a ceaser salad, then scallops and followed by steak, garden vegetables, and baby potatoes.
For dessert, they had chocolate lava cake or cheesecake.
All was made exceptional well, and we all gave praise where it was very much needed. Lily did an amazing job planning this meal.
After about twenty minutes of all of us trying to let our stomach settle, people started to dance.
The twins stayed back with Kevin and Sylvia while Myles dragged Lily to dance the floor.
I envied how careless they both were while dancing they didn’t give a damn what anyone thought. Just lost in their own little world, not caring who was watching.
I watched everyone else at our table head to the dance floor, leaving Landyn and I alone at the table.
The awkward glances and the awful tension between us with thick. We’ve been purposely avoiding each other for the most part since I found out that Ben was my second chance, mate.
I know he wants me to be happy and believes in the moon goddess, but it’s still awkward as hell.
Especially since we both had real feelings towards each other. I know it was more than just the gaurdian pull.
My dad approached our table, saving us both from this awkardness.
“Mauteen, do you mind sharing a dance with me?”
Part of me wanted to say no. The both of us were really trying to get to know each other, and now that I openly took his last name, I really needed to give him a chance.
“I would love to.”
I stood up from my chair, and he led us to the dance floor. I was just grateful he asked me to dance for a slow song.
Rod Stewart’s song came on. Have I told you lately that I love you. I knew the song well.
He looked down at me as we swayed to the music. “You look beautiful tonight. So much like your mother.”
“Thank you, Charles.”
If it could be even possible, this was more awkward than sitting alone with Landyn at the table.
As we swayed I noticed the unwelcoming glare from Raya. Her eyes were like daggers on me. I gulped. I was really starting to feel uncomfortable.
I could tell he was uncomfortable as well. I wondered if he noticed Rayas glares to. “Do you want to go for a walk maybe that would be easier?”
“Yes, that sounds way better.”
As we headed towards the stairs, we walked past Rodger and Maddy dancing away. I thought it was sweet she already had Rodger wrapped around her little finger.
I could tell Rodger was starting to get tired, and Andrew was standing off to the side, ready to take over whenever he was needed.
I could tell Andrew was struggling. Lily said he was trying to keep his distance as much as he could from Bre. She agreed to write letters back and forth but not out right talking to him as of right now.
As much as that girl has been through, I understood completely. I would have acted the same way, if not worse. If the one man I feared the most son was my beloved I would have been terrified to even look him in the eye. Even
if I only had to endure half of what she has had to deal with.
We got outside, and it was way cooler than I expected. I guess I shouldn’t have been so surprised it is November.
Charles offered me his jacket, and we continued to walk around the border of the woods.
He cleared his throat. “Listen, I would really like to visit every couple weeks, and I would like you and Lily both to come to the castle and see where I grew up and learn about the other side of your family. I’m not saying you need to come right away, but I would really like you to.”
I think he saw me hesitate slightly. “I would like to eventually, but this is all so new to me. I’m fine with you visiting here for a while, and then we can talk about Lily and I coming to the palace later on if that’s okay?”
“Yes, of course that’s okay. We can take this at your speed.”
The awkward silence overcame us both again.
I saw Charles whole body tense up, and that’s when I heard the twig snap. I looked in the direction of where I heard it come from.
We both slowly headed in that direction. Neither one of us still not saying anything. Our curiosity is getting the best out of us.
That’s when I saw her standing quite a distance from me next to Lexi. I stood frozen in shock.
For a moment, i thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.
I heard Charles speak barely above a whisper. “Laura?”
I instantly yelled “Mom” before she vanished with Lexi before my eyes.
I took off running in the direction I saw them. Even though deep down, i knew she was long gone.
