Chapter 8

Lily POV

I ended up letting Myles pick the movie. While I went and change into something more comfortable.

I threw on a pair of flannel pajama bottoms, a black tank top and put my hair in a messy bun on top of my head.

When I came out Myles was overly excited I had the new fast and the furious movie. We had quite the collection.

I was hoping the movie would get me out of talking much. Truth is I just didn’t want to be alone. The guilt of that was eating at me.

We watched movies all time at my cottage, but this time it felt so different.

My mom had texted me earlier that night saying she was going to stay at the pack house because her and luna Meghan were working late on the menu and she didn’t want to walk home so late.

I didn’t want to tell Myles my mom wouldn’t be home tonight. But since it was already eleven at night and she was no where in sight I’m guessing he already knows.

My mom sleeps at the pack house often. In fact Luna Meghan gave her a small room because it happens so often.

We settled into my couch. Keeping a safe distance. I tossed a blanket over my legs.

” Do you want a blanket or anything?”

“No I’m good Lil, i just wished I had a pair of sweat pants these jeans are so tight.”

I giggled. “oh I know”

“Oh really? How do you know Lil? Were you checking me out?”

I blushed and stuttered. Trying to find the words. I didn’t know what was going on with me.

Myles caught on when my face turned tomato red.

“Don’t worry I know my butt looks good you don’t have to tell me.”

I relaxed and smacked his arm. He always knew how to fix the tension that I often caused.

“So Lil, you going to tell me whats with you and the water fall.”

Whelp. He went straight to the questions . The movie wasn’t even through the credits yet.

“Its not particularly a long story. Truthfully I’m not to sure how much you want to here.”

“Well I’f it’s causing you that much pain just by the mention of it then I want to know and help you through it any way that I can.”

“okay”

“Before Ben left he took me there on one of our last nights together. I didn’t realize it was the same place till we all went there the last time together.”

“It helped jumping of the cliff and staying close to you. It kept some of the memories at bay.”

“oh”

” So by accident I took you to the exact place Ben took you?”

“All because I was trying to help you forget about Ben, even if it was just for alittle awhile.”

He rubbed his hands into the side of his head. I could tell he felt bad. But he didn’t even know the half of it.

“Myles, you couldn’t of known.”

“I didn’t say anything last time because I didn’t want to put a damper on anyone’s fun and I was already there.”

“This time i knew we were going there and I just didn’t want to deal with those feelings.”

“Truth is I don’t want to go back there because I almost had s*x with Ben there.”

He looked stunned and almost disappointed.

“Myles you said you wouldn’t judge me. We stopped. He knew how much fated mates meant to me and that I wanted to wait.”

Myles looked angry now and touched the binge of his nose .

I felt like he stopped listening to what I was saying.

” I was sixteen i got caught in the moment for a second but I came back to my senses.”

“Ben said he didn’t have a problem waiting, and that he wanted it to be on my time.”

“Why do you keep looking at me like your disgusted.”

“It was teenage hormones. I’m not the only one this happens to.”

Myles POV

Lily started rambling on something about how “alot of girls don’t wait for there fated mates” and “she’s not a w***e for considering.”

When I came back to my senses I realized why she was rambling. She thought I was judging her for it and thought less of her.

Truth was I got jealous. I want to be with her. The fear we might not be fated mates scared me. I wanted to be with her no matter what the moon goddess said.

But it seemed she didn’t want to go against whatever fate the moon goddess has set for her.

I felt a rush of guilt knowing Ben almost took her virginity not knowing he was sleeping with someone else. He made it seem like he was willing to wait for.

I was really started to dislike him more and more. This isn’t friend or man I thought he was.

How could I even begin to explain any of this to her. I could tell she was getting worked up and angry.

I scratched the back of my head. Trying to work up the nerve to tell her.

“Lily stop.I don’t think your a w***e. I guess I got upset thinking that you would only wait for your fated mate and I guess what I’m trying to ask is what if you don’t find him? Would you ever consider taken a chosen mate?”

“I don’t know.”

I felt my heart shatter.

“Myles why are you asking me this?”

I didn’t answer right away. She spoke before I could work up the nerve to say something.

” I guess yeah I would consider taking a chosen mate if I didn’t find mine after some time or if I got rejected.”

“Lily I don’t think you have to worry about that. I don’t see anyone rejecting you.”

She lightly smiled and yawned. We turned to watch the movie.

We both fell asleep on the couch. I woke up to light starting to come through the windows. I looked down and Lily was laying on my chest. I dont know when or how she ended up there but part of me didn’t want to move her.

“s**t” I remembered I had training soon.

I tried to carefully slip out from the grip she had on my shirt. I really didn’t want to wake her. I knew she would be embarrassed.

When i broke free. I tucked her back in under the blanket and slipped out the front door.

Turning around just to get one more look at her fast asleep. She looked so at peace like that.
