It was still raining outside. There was no strength left in Scarlett by the time Chris carried her out of the bathroom.

As soon as Chris placed her on the bed, Scarlett grabbed the quilt to cover her body.

Chris lowered his head and stroked her face. The coldness in his eyes had been replaced by tenderness. "Take a rest?"

Scarlett looked out of the window. It was already dark. "I'm hungry," she said.

His eyes flickering, Chris gazed at her and asked, "What would you like to eat for supper?"

Scarlett dropped her eyes and replied," Takeout."

Too exhausted, she didn't feel like eating out.

Chris nodded, caressed her face, and said," Take a rest. I'll call you when the takeaway arrives."

Scarlett yawned, glanced at Chris, and hummed, "Okay."

Indeed sleepy, Scarlett turned over and went out like a light.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Chris looked at Scarlett till she was fast asleep. Then he got up, left the master bedroom, and took out his phone to order takeout. Chris unlocked his phone and realized that there wasn't any takeout app installed.

Therefore, he went back and took Scarlett's phone.

Chris looked at the screen lock and subconsciously entered a string of numbers.

When he successfully unlocked the phone, his eyes glimmered.

Before he could react, his hand had typed in the password.

Some things had been engraved in his mind. He would never forget them.

Chris pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind and ordered takeout.

Scarlett hadn't slept well last night. Now she was sleeping soundly.

It was already 7:00 p.m. when she woke up. With no light on, the room was pitch-black. Scarlett could not see anything.

In a groggy state, she groped for her phone, but it was not there.

Furrowing her brows, Scarlett propped herself up. It took her a while to realize that her phone might have been taken away by Chris to order takeout.

Just then, the door was pushed open. Chris turned on the light and came in.

The bright light dazzled Scarlett's eyes. She subconsciously covered them with her hand as Chris came to her side.

He sat down next to Scarlett, eyed her, tucked her hair behind her ear, and asked," Did you sleep well?"

Scarlett's face burned since she had just woken up. She nodded following a glance at Chris.

Chris's thumb landed on her face and gently touched the corner of her eye." Dinner is ready. Let's go downstairs," he said.

Scarlett nodded, lifted the quilt, and got out of bed before following Chris down to the second floor.

Chris had ordered French cuisine. Four dishes and one soup were just right for the two of them.

When they finished supper, it was already eight o'clock. Scarlett was not sleepy since she had a nap in the afternoon.

She rested her head on his hand, looked at Chris across the table, and said, "It's the anniversary of your grandfather's death tomorrow."

Scarlett didn't know much about

Raymond's grandfather. When she married into the Shaw family, he had been gone for over three years.

But Scarlett knew his importance in Raymond's heart.
