Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life -
Chapter 1073
On the day of the "Fate's Night" fashion show, Flora pulled Connor along with her. There was an exciting show planned for today, and she wouldn't miss it for the world. After spending the past few days coordinating with the medical research center, she was exhausted.
This was the perfect chance to kick back and relax.
Inside the venue, Henrik was going over the last-minute details of the runway show with Cecelia and Rafael when he noticed Flora and Connor strolling in.
"Flora!" Rafael called out, rushing over to greet her. With his leather jacket, baggy jeans, and a twinkling earring, he exuded a youthful, rebellious charm that was hard to ignore.
Flora, her hand comfortably in Connor's, responded with a laid-back, "Hey."
"Hey, what brings you here?" Cecelia ditched Henrik and dashed over to Flora.
"Just here to catch the show," Flora replied casually, giving Cecelia a quick look. "And, of course, to have your back."
After all, Cecelia was going to be her sister-in-law. She had to watch out for her.
In front of her family and Connor, Flora let her guard down a bit, but with everyone else, she was always effortlessly cool and laid-back. The venue's lighting cast a shadow over her face, accentuating the curve of her lips in a way that was both casually mesmerizing and a bit mysterious. She had a certain charisma that was hard to resist.
Even Cecelia felt her heart skip a beat, warmed by Flora's supportive words.
"Cecelia, the show's about to kick off. Let's get you backstage," Henrik said, glancing at his watch. He added to Connor, "Keep an eye on Flora. I'll be back soon."
It was more of a friendly reminder than a concern. With Connor around, Flora was in good hands. Besides, she wasn't one to be easily rattled.
Connor nodded, his air cool and composed under the dim lights, but his gaze towards Flora was unmistakably tender.
Backstage was strictly for designers and models. Henrik escorted Cecelia to the door and stopped.
"So, Mr. Raul, should I head in now?"
"Yep," Henrik nodded.
Cecelia started to walk away, but Henrik called her back.
"Cecelia."
She turned with a smile, "What's up, Mr. Raul?"
"Just do your best out there. Don't let anything else worry you," Henrik said, resisting the urge to rufflecher hair. I got you fried chicken and cola for after the show."
"Fried chicken and cola!" Cecelia's eyes sparkled. "You better not go back on that, Mr. Raul!"
"Never," Henrik reassured her. "I always keep my promises."
Feeling a lot lighter, Cecelia turned and headed backstage, smiling.
"Mr. Raul, I want fried chicken and cola too!" Rafael chimed in. Being a male artist, his company's dietary rules weren't as strict as those for femaleartists, but his manager still banned high-calorie treats like fried chicken and cola.
Henrik shot him a gentle but firm look. "No can do."
Rafael pouted. "Why does Cecelia get some and not me?"
"I've seen your health stats; they're a bit off. I'll have your manager watch your diet. It's veggies for you this month." Rafael regretted saying anything.
Henrik stepped outside and made a quick call. "Where's Aisha?"
"They're at the entrance, trying to find a way in," came the reply.
Sneaking into an event like this wasn't easy, especially for outsiders like Liam and Peyton.
"Give them a hand," Henrik instructed.
"Got it."
...
Meanwhile, Connor and Flora took
their seats in the audience. Even
with their masks on and bundled up, their presence was unmistakable. Their unique aura drew curious glances.
Especially Flora, a big name in the room. Could a simple mask really keep her under wraps?
