Linda Taylor and her husband, Ivan Martin, were the leading couple in this world, once truly in love. But now, she was ready to leave him forever.

Clang, clang-the clock struck midnight.

Their wedding anniversary had passed, and Ivan still hadn't come home.

Notifications kept popping up on her phone.

"The world's first holographic game, The Gods, breaks one billion in sales within three

hours of launch!"

Ivan's name held steady at the top of trending topics. The success of The Gods had catapulted him to fame as a coveted tech sensation both domestically and internationally. Linda scrolled down and opened a solo interview video featuring him.

On screen, Ivan sat with legs crossed, a confident, composed posture. His deep gaze was filled with affection, his voice a low, gentle laugh.

"My achievements today are all thanks to my wife, Ms. Linda. She's been my greatest support and motivation..."

"I heard Mr. Martin designed a love confession game, 'For Ever and Ever,' back in c for his wife. Any plans to release it? We'd love to play!"

Bored, Linda put the divorce papers back into the drawer and was about to turn off her phone when the video switched to a trailer for The Gods.

"Hello, everyone, I'm Katherine, a gaming streamer and the spokesperson for The Gods..."

Hearing that name, Linda felt a wave of dizziness.

Then, a warm embrace wrapped around her from behind.

Linda sank into the unfamiliar, warmly scented arms.

"Why aren't you asleep yet?"

Ivan was back.

The unfamiliar fragrance from his body made Linda's stomach turn.

She looked up, her gaze traveling past his reflection in the mirror to the phone screen still playing the video.

"Why'd you get an influencer as the spokesperson?"

The Gods was big enough that even top international celebrities would fight for a chance to represent it.

"Her name's Katherine. She's an excellent streamer, quite a bit like you back in college. I'll introduce you sometime," Ivan said easily, his tone nonchalant.

But Linda knew the truth: Katherine was the woman he kept on the side.

Every excuse of late nights at work, every night he didn't come home, he was with

Katherine.

Her chest tightened, the dizziness grew worse.

Her vision went black as a sudden rush of blood filled her nostrils.

Her consciousness faded, her ears ringing with Ivan's panicked voice.

"Linda, hang in there. We're almost at the hospital. I'll draw your blood right away!"

In her haze, she caught a glimpse of the tear slipping down his cheek.

Linda knew Ivan loved her.

But she couldn't understand-why could he love her so deeply, yet lie to her so openly?
