Floral curtains, white sofas, and countless pink lilies...

All of them were Charlotte's favorites.

Daphne stared blankly, realizing the effort Matthew put in surpassed even the grand welcome she received when she first joined the Roberts family. Her eyes dimmed, and she felt an unprecedented sense of coldness and distance.

As Emma and the other servants retreated, Matthew, at some point, had already entered the living room and was quickly heading up the stairs to see the woman he doted on the most - Charlotte. "Matthew.."

Daphne stood alone in the empty living room, her gaze slowly shifting to the cold divorce agreement on the table.

Each word felt like a sharp blade, cutting through her already fragile heart.

In the end, she fled back to her room, feeling utterly defeated.

In the cold, lonely bedroom, she curled up on the carpet, her eyes unconsciously drawn to the wedding photo on the bedside table.

In the photo, she and Matthew were smiling brightly, their eyes filled with hope for the future and deep affection for each other.

She couldn't help but reach out and touch the image of herself, as if she were transported back to that sunny afternoon. "You... are so beautiful."
