Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right -
Chapter 965
Drake was rendered speechless.
Kale chimed in, "Mr. Nichols, you're fully aware that Miss Eaton and Cathryn are friends. Why didn't you mention that the Eaton family would raise a fuss?"
Juan shrugged. "My family isn't acquainted with the Eaton or the Bernard families, and I didn't know they were friends. Otherwise, I would never have suggested that Mr. Lowe get engaged to Cathryn in the first place." "But you..."
"I saw it online."
He took out his phone and showed them an article that detailed the love triangle between Drake, Liza, and Cathryn.
"I didn't realize Mr. Lowe had such a colorful history."
Kale tried to retort, but Drake stopped him. "That's enough."
The damage was done; it was pointless to argue over whose fault it was.
Taking a deep breath, he declared, "Let's go home."
He then strode toward the car. Just as he reached for the door handle, Juan muttered, "Mr. Lowe, you're getting into my car."
"I know. My car broke down," Drake said, urging Kale. "Get in."
Kale quickly followed, opening the door on the passenger side.
Before stepping in, Drake glanced back at Juan. "Thanks for the lift. I'm sure this marks the start of an even smoother partnership between us."
For a moment, Juan regretted coming to meet them. He'd expected a fiery confrontation, but all Drake seemed to want was a free ride.
He reluctantly got into the driver's seat and pressed a few buttons on the console.
Then there was a beeping sound, puzzling Drake.
"What was that?"
"Starting the meter. When we get there, don't forget to pay the fare."
"What? A fare?"
"Don't tell me a bigshot like you can't afford a cab ride."
"Debra conned me out of ten million tonight."
"Not my problem."
"She's your ex-wife."
"And like you said, ex-wife. So, are we driving or not?"
Kale said tentatively, "Boss, maybe
we should just go with it? It's
it'll
not like
much."

Drake stomached his anger and waved it off.
When the car pulled up to the Lowe Mansion, Juan stopped the meter and glanced at the screen.
"That'll be $120."
"That's a 15 minute drive, and you're charging $120?"
"My car's a Porsche. Luxury rides don't come cheap."
Drake was so stunned, he burst out laughing. It wasn't his year. Every petty villain seemed determined to cross his path, and this one was especially conniving.
"Fine," he grumbled, pulling out his wallet.
But as he looked at the stack of bills inside, he hesitated. No way was he letting Juan profit so easily. Closing the wallet, he took out his phone instead.
"Let's go with PayPal."
Juan laughed, "That's frugal."
Drake grunted, "I've lost enough today."
After the transaction was made, Drake got out and slammed the door behind him.
In the corner, someone watched with clenched fists.
