I scooped a spoonful of the strawberry flavored ice cream and swallowed it, licking the spoon clean before I scooped another spoon and leaned over the console to feed Aiden.

He opened his mouth, accepting the scoop, with his eyes still fixed on the road.

“If we manage to finish this, it’ll be our third one tonight,” I said, scooping another spoon.

“Well, that was why I bought a lot of them so you can have them to your fill. Don’t worry, I’ll be helping you,” Aiden replied, turning to look at me briefly.

After our little ‘activity’, we showered, changed our clothing and hopped into the car. However, instead of going to the restaurant where I had made a reservation for us, Aiden bought us ice-cream and began to drive to the outskirts of the capital. The road did look familiar, but I couldn’t think of where he was planning to take us.

I was too occupied, enjoying the moment of us in the car, taking scoop after scoop of different ice-cream flavors. The car clock reads 7:34pm, and my eyes drifted to the wristwatch Aiden had clasped on his left hand.

The wristwatch I had gotten him. After we had dressed and were about to leave, he pulled the box from his pockets and lifted the watch out, then after staring at it, taking in the picture of us I had engraved in, he hugged me and kissed me thoroughly, and then promised me he’d wear it daily.

Right now, he was dressed in a dark blue material sewn into a knee length caftan shirt and trousers. He paired the clothes with a black zanna bukar cap and black cover shoes.

He looked dangerously handsome, and I may end up growling at any woman that dares look at him more than once.

Erin was still with Leo, and I guess those two would go wild at it.

“You still won’t tell me where you are taking me?” I asked, feeding him another scoop.

“It’s a surprise.”

“But this was supposed to be my date. I planned it.”

“And your date went perfectly well against the wall, Nala. It was the best date ever!”

“Shut up!” I replied, my cheeks instantly heating up.

“What? I was just saying,” he laughed. “Just sit back, enjoy your ice-cream and let me handle this. I’ve got you, Nala.”

I sighed, dropping the empty cup into one of the nylons before I grabbed one of the meat pies from the packet and bit into it. The taste was heavenly!

“Mmm!” I m****d, taking another bite. “I love this!”

“More than you love me?” Aiden grumbled.

“How dare I? Never,” I laughed, leaning over and giving him a sloppy k**s on the cheeks.

He g*****d, his hands tightening on the wheel. “Remind me why I let you come out with that dress?”

“Because I own my choice of clothing?” I replied, blinking at him innocently. I knew exactly what he meant, but pulling his legs was my favorite.

“You know what I mean, Nala. Your breasts are practically spilling from that dress.” He grumbled.

“Really? I didn’t notice,” I replied absentmindedly, taking another bite of my meat pie.

I had worn a green, yellow, and red patterned ankara, sewn into a knee length gown with an open chest. The sleeves were flappy, attached to each part where I had tucked in my breast. And just like last time, I wasn’t wearing a brassiere because I didn’t need it.

Because I hate it.

“You’re going to drive me insane,” Aiden sighed.

“It is my favorite thing to do,” I giggled, wiping my fingers with some tissues before I leaned back into my seat. I was feeling sleepy.

As I watched Aiden drive, with a slow song from Psquare (No one be like you) blaring softly in the speakers, I knew my heart was happy. It was filled with nothing but happiness, and pure undiluted love for my man.

Him and no one else.

And that was how I drifted into sleep.

By the time I woke up, Aiden had stopped the car before a tall building, with lights spilling everywhere.

“You woke up at the right time,” Aiden smiled, unbuckling his seat belts before he pulled the door open and walked to my side.

I was still drowsy as he helped me out, but I couldn’t help admiring the building before me. At least, not until my eyes caught the name plastered on the top.

‘Nala’s Healing Facility.’

I gasped, placing my right hand over my mouth. We were at the Fiko pack! The place once filled with tall lanky trees was now evolving with lots of buildings, one of them being this facility. The facility I had dreamt of having. The facility I had casually mentioned to Aiden, and this man got it done.

“Do you like it?” Aiden asked from behind me, as he slowly slid his arms around my waist, pulling me into his chest before he rested his head on my shoulders.

“I love it,” I sniffed, unable to stop my tears. I was imagining all the women and men that would visit here, find purpose and happiness, just like I did. The thought alone made me happy, and I was even more happy knowing I had a man like Aiden supporting me. “Thank you so much, Rabin Rai.”

“Shh…” he murmured, kissing my neck. “You made me a better man, Nala. And this is the least I could do for you. You fought alone for so long, holding onto hope for happiness till I finally found you, and I’ll forever be grateful to you for not giving up on us. For fighting. For giving us a chance.” He paused, turned me to face him then kissed my mouth softly. “Some day, I hope to hold our children, and watch this facility bloom into something much more.”

I was already a crying mess, and I didn’t mind. Heck, I didn’t feel a bit ashamed of that because I was crying before my man. So, I simply hugged him and continued to let the tears fall.

“You’re going to carry a heavy burden henceforth. Ruling and power are two dangerous things. You’re about to step into a world full of lies and deceit. Your life will constantly be in danger, that is a given. And in most cases, it is to get to me,” he paused, his fingers rubbing small circles on my back. “The heavy burden of ruling, combined with the stress of this facility is definitely going to take a toll on you. And you’re allowed to take a break. Step back when things don’t seem to work. I’ll always be with you. Always, Nala.”

“I know,” I hiccuped, pushing back to look at him. “Same way I’ll always be beside you. Knowing I’m doing this with your support is everything, and I have a wonderful family as well. I think I’m the luckiest person alive,” I laughed, sniffing.

Then I pressed my lips against Aiden’s and sucked at his bottom l*p for a moment before pulling back. “I love you so much, Rabin Rai.”

“I love you more, Nala.” Then he paused, looking around before he spoke again. “Come, let me show you the inside.”

We spent the next one hour touring the facility. It was beyond what I had imagined it would be. There were at least twenty rooms. Ten offices for the therapists, another ten for doctors that would move to the facility and many more. My heart was thudding loudly, filled with so much joy as I took in everything.

Finally, we stopped before one of the four doors on the third floor.

“This is your office,” Aiden explained, pushing the door open. Unlike the rest of the offices I had seen, mine was bigger, with two doors on the left. A big round table, a comfortable chair, a computer, a picture of Aiden and I on the table, just beside the computer, and a vase of daisies.

“I love it! And you chose my favorite color!” I smiled, the red curtains and rug a direct contrast to the lighting.

“There’s something else,” Aiden said, pulling my hand towards one of the doors. “That is the toilet, and this,” he opened the door and I gasped. “Is your resting space.”

“Whoa!” I strolled into the room. It had a large bed on the far side, a couch, a miniature football field, miniature garage, and lots more.

“I’m certain there are days things will get a little bit overwhelming. The room is soundproof, and you can scream, cry, cuss, and do anything you want. I just thought you might need it considering how exhausting this and everything else will be later on. I have the same space for you back at the palace too,” Aiden explained.

In a state of breathless numbness, I covered the small distance between us, slid my hands around his neck and tugged him closer.

“Are you okay?” Aiden asked, wrapping one hand around me.

I took a breath and nodded, still unable to speak. Because as always, he had rendered me speechless. Always thinking about me. Always doing things for me. “I’m fine.”

Leaning forward, he asked in a low voice, “then why are you trembling, Nala?”

“Because I don’t know what to say. Or how to express the way you make me feel. I have no idea how to thank you…”

He cut me off by tipping my head up with a hand on my jaw and kissed me. Electric sensation burned through me. If it weren’t for the table behind me, I would’ve fallen. At my m**n, however, he deepened the k**s, taking my mouth with his tongue in the same way I wanted him to. He took my mouth with hungry strokes of his tongue, while I wound my fingers through his hair, scraped them down his chest and abdomen, and tucked them into his caftan pants.

Wow! I was becoming too daring even for myself, but I didn’t care.

His lips left my mouth, as he sucked on my neck, then rocked his h**s forward, making me achingly aware of the firm flesh prodding against my thighs.

My body went into total system failure. My limbs weakened. Between my thighs, I flushed and tingled with want. I m****d and hissed as he continued to suck on my neck, before he finally stopped, and simply held me in his arms.

“Thank you,” I murmured against his ears, as I slipped my hands out of his pants. “Some day, I hope to make you as happy as you make me, Rabin Rai.”

“You don’t think I’m happy already?” He laughed, kissing both of my eyes. “Your presence alone makes me happy, Nala. And your happiness is mine.”

I nodded, thinking. I have to up my game with this man. Both with words and stuff. I want him happy to a certain degree where he hardly ever gets sad. Okay, that seemed kinda far-fetched but I like the idea of that happening so I’m going to try.

We broke from our little moment, knowing that if this continues, this space would get a special mark before I manage to have my first cry or scream in it.

Back outside, I stared up at the name again, and I couldn’t help the smile that stretched on my lips. I can’t wait to show this to Tiffany and tell Mav about it on the phone tomorrow!

“I have another thing to show you,” Aiden suddenly said. I turned to face him as he slid his hand into his pocket and brought out a folded piece of paper. When he unfolded it, I nearly screamed.

It was for school! I was going back to school.

“You said you wanted to be an architect,” he scratched his head, as though nervous. “I got you the form for college, but since you didn’t go through high school, you should focus now on learning from the tutor I got you and Tiffany months ago before you start school. Things have settled a lot now so go study like you dreamt of. Become the architect you wanted, and be happy, Nala. I’ll be beside you with each step you take, cheering you on always.”

You know what they say about being unable to react when the emotions crowding your senses were too much? Yeah, that. That is my current situation. Two gifts in a day. The facility, and now this. What did I do to deserve this man?

Before I could stop it, I was crying again. But they were happy tears, because I was nothing short of being happy. Then something dawned on me, we’ve both prepared different things for each other, and that alone shows our contributed efforts in this relationship.

“Guess the image that played in my head right now,” I said through my tears.

“That I have your back pressed against a tree here and…”

“No silly,” I laughed, playfully hitting him on the chest.

“Don’t blame me. It was all I have been envisioning since we arrived.”

“Duh! Shut up.”

“Okay then. Tell me what image played in your head.”

“A chaotic night for you and I as we struggled to put our kids to bed after a long tiring day.” I whispered, smiling.

Aiden exhaled sharply, his fists tightening on the side as his eyes darkened. “That’s one scene I’d really like to see someday, Nala.”

Laughing, I wrapped my arms around his neck, then pulled him into a hug.

“Some day, Rabin Rai. Some day,” I whispered against his neck.

And I knew it was something I’ll always look forward to until the day we finally get ready to have that family.

But in that moment , as I stood under the moon, with my arms wrapped around my man and his around me, face tucked at the crook of his neck, I marveled at the tenderness it held. Enjoying the comfort of my recharging corner.

I felt fulfilled. Happy. And satiated.

Again, I was home.

And I hold the heart of this lycan king.
