I closed my mouth tightly around the toothbrush, trying to keep the scrubbing noise from waking Aiden up as I poked my head out through the bedroom door to catch another glimpse of him.

Damn, the man could sleep. He was facedown, legs and arms sprawled in four directions, his back covered with the sheets.

This view. This view I could wake up to everyday.

There was something like a fuzzy fluffy bear doing somersaults in my stomach, tickling my ribs and pressing down on my unmentionable parts. Although Aiden had surely made mention of them last night on the balcony. So many times. Each time better than the last. Who knew I was a sucker for my man?

‘Who knew you were such a sucker for a man, Nat?’ Erin threw my question back at me. ‘He looks mouthwatering, doesn’t he?’ She added.

‘Definitely,’ I answered, as images of the chaos we wrecked on the balcony yesterday after we left the car flashed in my mind. And dear Nyala! The balcony part was even more daring than the limo’s. With the dim lights of the bulbs filtering from the living room, and the thought of someone watching us as we went all wild in different angles.

But man! It was so worth it. If the shaking of my legs can attest to that.

Unable to shake the wild images out of my mind, I dipped back into the bathroom to rinse out my mouth, stowing my brush in a cup I saw there. Fortunately, when we got here, my box had already arrived to the house and I was sure it was Mav’s and Kane’s work.

Wow! How would I face Kane when I see him again? Because I’m certain he knew what we were doing when he left us in the car. I sighed, laying out a package of a spare toothbrush on the sink for when Aiden finally wakes up.

There was a low g***n from the bedroom, followed by the creaking of the bedsprings. My stomach clenched, causing a twinge of minor soreness. Unconsciously, I started to pack my hair into a loose ponytail. Why? I had no idea. Save for the knowledge of the pressing tension gripping my inner walls.

Oh, Nyala. I’m turning into something else.

‘Turning into an addict for our mate you mean?’ Erin giggled. ‘I can’t wait for the official mating ceremony so Leo and I can do our things,’ she added, swooning.

‘You seem so eager,’ I commented.

‘Oh that I am! Definitely eager to mark that big buffy Lycan.’ Erin purred, eyes rolling back as she licked her mouth.

Wow! Erin is far gone. Just like I am.

There was a knock on the bathroom door. “Nala?”

My stomach churned at Aiden’s gruff, post-sleep rasp. “Yeah?”

Aiden’s voice dropped. “You mind getting back in bed?”

Oh wow! Why should those words make me want to clench? With a calming breath, I toed open the bathroom door, coming face to face with Aiden in briefs only.

“Good morning,” nerves jangling in my limbs at the thought of how much I love this man, how much I wanted him, I busied myself with stuffing a stray hair into my ponytail.

He clicked his tongue, eyeing me up and down under the dim lights of the bathroom, taking in my choice of clothing. A simple red bathrobe. He g*****d.

“That’s not how I want my good mornings, Nala.” He grumbled, leaning against the door frame. “You could do better you know,” he added, a smug smile on his face.

For some reason, I felt like playing the daring game. “I don’t feel like touching you this early morning.”

One of his dark brows puckered up. “Really? That’s funny since we spent the whole night plastered against each other.”

“We did?”

He shifted on his legs and stepped into the bathroom. I watched as he applied toothpaste to the brush, ran it under the water, and stuck it in his mouth. “You’re doing that thing again. That thing you do when you tease me by not touching me.”

“Am I?” I laughed.

He gave me a look of pure male exasperation. “You’ve got until I finish brushing my teeth to stop that teasing or…”

“Or what?” I cut him off, a bit breathless at the flexing of his muscles, and the way his body shook from brushing.

“There’s no winning with you, is there?”

“Definitely.”

He scoffed and resumed brushing his teeth. Rinsed, spit and dropped his toothbrush in the cup. Then he sauntered towards me like a starved man and stood in front of me. His big arms crossed over his chest, with mouthwatering veins popping from the movement.

“Touch me, Nala.”

“Nope,” I gotta pop that P.

“I’m starting to get annoyed. I mean it.”

“Oh my! For real?” I feigned a gasp.

“Nalaaa…”

“What?”

“If you don’t touch me, it could only mean one thing.”

“And that is?”

My words were still hanging in the air when Aiden lunged and threw me over his shoulder. Disoriented for a minute at the sudden change of events, I somehow managed to deduce we were going to bed. I yelped as I landed on the bed with a thud.

“Drop me. I didn’t say I wanted to go to the bed,” I half laughed, half squealed, attempting and failing to twist onto my belly.

Aiden shook his head, planting a hand on my chest and easily holding me down. “I gave you so many chances. But I can give you one escape, or I’ll believe that you really wanted to get back here.”

“What is it?”

“I want a proper good morning from you, and I’m not even sure what one looks like now. I do know, however, that I like seeing you down there, lying on your back,” his mouth was in a smirk, but his eyes were deadly serious. Dark. Hot. Unnerving. “I want your hands all over me, your mouth on mine, the sound of your voice moaning my name. Are we clear?”

My pulse thundered in my ears, my intimate muscles searching for my counterparts, wanting to clamp down. The twitch of the bond was increasing at an alarming pace. And for the love of Nyala, I never felt a force so hard like the one I felt now.

Raw and deep down the core.

I was breathing hard and fast, the knot I had tied on my bathrobe already loosening, while the top was already exposed.

Aiden watched me from under his hooded lids for another second then sunk back on the bed in a kneeling position and waited while I scrambled up. I climbed him, then locked my thighs around his waist and ran my palms up his shoulders, stopping when they were framing his face.

And then, we fell into a groaning k**s. Raw. Hot. Desperate. The sound of lips being sucked, tongues fighting for dominance, sheets rustling. And it made this even more dangerous than I wanted it to be.

The taste of mint from the toothpaste and the scent of my man assaulted my senses, sending a rush of moisture between my legs. I scooted closer on Aiden’s lap and he broke the k**s to watch me intently as I writhed on his prodding hard thing.

“This is too much for a good morning…”

Aiden cut me off with a drugging k**s, mixed with something else. Tension. Adoration. Love.

“Good morning, Nala,” he finally said after pulling away.

“Morning, Rabin Rai.”

“Now, isn’t that a better way to say good morning?” He grinned.

“Hum,” I sighed, leaning down to k**s the mark on his neck. I love seeing it. And I love knowing I gave him that. “Where’s Leo?”

“Bonding with Erin.”

“Ahh, that explains the silence from her. Cool that they can bond without us.”

“Yup,” he replied, kissing me again. “I’m taking you on a date after my run with the boys,” he said.

“Can I join the run? I want to,” I murmured, grazing my teeth on his mark.

He squirmed then bucked upward, the friction causing my eyes to roll and my insides to clench even more.

I pushed back, my eyes landing on the wolf tattoo on Aiden’s stomach. I traced my finger along the tattoo, wondering what the outcome would be on the full moon.

I want this to end, but I’m scared at the same time.

“Let’s get ready. They are already here,” Aiden sat up with me in his arms as he spoke.

“The run is here?”

“We all live here whenever we come to the human country. And yes, we start the run here down to the field. I still have one last match to play tomorrow before we return.”

‘I hope they didn’t hear your m***s last night,’ Erin cackled. She looked…flushed? Whatever bonding she and Leo did left an impression on her

Aiden and I dressed in identical track suits. Mine were too big but I didn’t care, because I really wanted to join them on the run.

But by the time we stepped outside, and I saw all the men lined up saluting and bowing to greet me, it felt awkward. I still wasn’t used to this.

But what made it worse was when Mav walked up to us, pinched my cheeks and ruffled my hair with a small smile.

“Look at my sister, all smiles with no gloomy mood clouding her face anymore.”

Oh sweet mother of wolves, please swallow me! I g*****d internally as he laughed, tapped Aiden on his shoulders and ran off.

Kane was a whole different case. He greeted us solemnly, trying so hard to hold back the laughter threatening to leave his mouth. But with each attempt, it got worse.

“Morning Captain,” Aiden said cheerfully.

“Morning, Your Eminence. Your Majesty,” he bowed a little.

I couldn’t reply. Instead, I clutched Aiden’s arm even more and rested my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around me, pulling me more into him.

“Wow! I get to see this early in the morning too?” Kane g*****d, but a smile was dancing on his lips.

“Well, if you could get yourself a mate, you could even do the car thing,” Aiden replied.

I gasped, as Kane burst into fits of laughter. I pinched Aiden on the back and he looked down at me.

“What was that for?” I hissed in a low whisper.

“Trust me, he was looking for an opening to tease me on that. This is totally not because of you. He had been teasing me about it since I woke up this morning so I only returned the favor. He wouldn’t have said anything had I not mentioned it. He respects you too much.”

I knew that. I knew he wouldn’t even though he teases me from time to time. But it felt awkward when Aiden mentioned it.

“We are ready when you are, Your Majesties,” Kane said with a bow as he jogged behind the remaining team.

“Ready?”

“Ready,” I answered eagerly.

“Hold on tight. It is about to get bumpy,” Aiden said as he kicked the bike into gear and drove away.

It was the second time I was riding a motorbike, and like the first time, it was exhilarating. We both wore leather pants, and sweaters, looking like those deadly spies shown in dramas. But the best part of it was that I was pressed against the back of my man, my arms wrapped tightly around him.

We drove past tall buildings, and for some reason, the human country doesn’t look any different than ours. By the time Aiden stopped the bike, the breeze had taken away 99% of my wild thoughts. Of the impending thoughts of the full moon. The Fiko forest. The Fiko Luna.

“It’s a park,” I said with a laugh as Aiden helped me down.

“Yeah. There’s a beach-like pool down there. It is where I mostly go when I need to think every time I come here,” he answered.

We intertwined our hands and began walking, childishly swinging our hands like kids. But I liked it, just like we ended up playing like kids during the run this morning.

“It’s beautiful.” I commented.

“Yeah. Humans are hard to understand though. They make movies and write books about us, but don’t even know we exist.”

“I’ll love to watch one of their movies and see what they know about us.”

“We can go to the movies tonight,” Aiden said as we finally stopped before the pool. We removed our sneakers, then plunged our legs into the water. Despite here being colder than in Deshtu, I loved the feel of the water against my feet.

Aiden scooted closer, wrapped his arms around my waist as I lay my head on his shoulders, his on top of mine.

“Thank you for coming, Nala.”

“Anything for the man who owns my heart,” I whispered, bringing our clasped hands to my mouth and kissing it.

Silence stretched between us. Comfortable silence with just us wrapped in each other. Until a pregnant woman walked past us with a man holding her and a little girl with them.

“I can’t wait to see you and Erin pregnant,” Aiden commented, and I couldn’t help the swell in my heart.

“So it is true for Lycans. That both the human and the wolf part carry the pregnancy for a duration of time,” I said.

“Yup. Three months each. The human does the first trimester, then the wolf finishes. They are born as pups, and we shift at 3.”

“So Mama met Leo first.” I replied, intrigued by the concept. It was difficult for wolves. Humans go through seven months of pregnancy and give birth to babies. We shift at sixteen.

The lycans, however, have things done differently. Born as pups and shifts at three.

“Wait, isn’t it too painful for a three year old to shift?”

“It is the first shift, and it is done through the mind of the mother. She carries most of the pain and until we turn six before we can fully shift alone without trouble. But I began shifting on my own when I was four because Mav and I were both stubborn.” Aiden answered.

“That much is very evident,” I laughed, then pause before I asked the question that had been bugging me. “But I’m not a Lycan. I can’t give birth to pups.”

“You’re mated to one though, and most of our children would be too. Some would just have the stronger genes of the Lycans than the wolves. Especially since I’m a royal.”

“Interesting,” I sighed. I still couldn’t picture myself pregnant anytime soon.

“But we’re not in a rush. I want you to accomplish your dreams and ease into your new role before anything. I want you to live for yourself by yourself. Embrace every part of you before any responsibilities of kids come in.”

I pushed a little to look up at him, before pulling him down for a quick k**s. “Have I told you I love drawing?”

“You did,” Aiden murmured against my lips.

“I want to be an architect,” I whispered, staring into his dark eyes. “It has been a lifelong dream.”

“How about enrolling into a school after the full moon?”

“Really?” I asked, excitement bubbling in me.

“Yes,” his eyes ran over my face, his fingers stroking the side. “Yes, Nala. You can. Anything you want.”

When our mouths joined, it wasn’t just a k**s. It was gratitude and adrenaline. Excitement and support and love. And it was frantic, soaked downwards in the water glory. I sank so deep into the k**s, that I didn’t realize we were about to fall into the water. At least, not until we did and the water rose around us.

We burst into laughter, still cradled in each other’s hands, faces mere inches away, the gloomy sky above us.

“I love you,” I murmured against his lips. “I love you like I’ve never been afraid, Rabin Rai.”

The emotion that crossed his eyes was worth the feel of the cold water lapping at my skin.
