DELSANRA

Liam had taken me to a hotel suite and had told me to go sleep in the bedroom whilst he did some work in the living room area. At first, I didn’t want to, but when I realized Rayhan wasn’t going to come anytime soon, I entered the bedroom, locked the door, and tried to sleep. I tossed and turned but sleep was not coming to me. Sometimes I would be dropping off, only for my eyes to fly open and I would be fresh again. I picked up my phone, no message from him either … I sighed, staring at the ceiling. I couldn’t sleep, not without his arms around me.

I didn’t even realize that I hadn’t actually spent a night without him … I sighed softly, staring at the ceiling, pondering over everything that had happened. Raihana hadn’t been given a grimoire, Rayhan had made her pass it to us before we left, simply because of the connection Endora had with her. The grimoires we had were mostly dark spells, but then again, it seemed Endora could relay any spell to her if she wanted to … My mind then flitted back to what happened earlier , and I sighed heavily .

I was about to message Raihana, but she hadn’t been online for a few hours either. Who was I kidding? It was almost 4 am, I tossed my phone down and stared at the ceiling. I jolted upright when I heard the door in the main suite open, and then the sound of talking. ” Is she asleep? ” My heart leapt , Rayhan ! Yeah, I think so. ” Liam’s reply came. How’d it go? ” ” As good as it could have … It doesn’t take away what they did. ” Rayhan’s cold voice came. I didn’t move from my bed, listening to the conversation. Although I wanted to run out to him, I stayed sitting on the bed, listening to what he had to say. ” Did she seem ok? “

” Yeah, pretty much. ” Liam … You should go home. ” ” Don’t tell me what to do, Rayhan. ” She’s your mate. ” ” You know I don’t share. ” Liam’s voice came, the controlled anger made me want to go and shield my Alpha from him, but I knew he could hold his own. ” I know … But by staying away, is it helping? ” ” I gave her a chance, Rayhan. ” He sounded anguished. ” Still … I know I always agreed with you, but now that I’ve met mine … I can’t even imagine the shit you’re going through.

I yanked it open just as Rayhan was about to walk toward it. He was showered and changed, I didn’t even want to think of the state he had probably been in before this.

I flung my arms around his neck, locking my legs around his wa!st, my heart pounding, just glad he was home, with me His strong arms wrapped around me tightly and he stroked my back. ” I missed you, kitten. ” I missed you too, ” I whispered. It terrified me, how not even twelve hours ápart had been so hard. I k!ssed his neck, inhaling his scent. He had showered, and the smell of body wash was strong. I ran my fingers through his hair, k!ssing his neck repeatedly. ” Hey … I’m sorry, I won’t leave you for that long again. ” He murmured, tugging me back. He k!ssed my l!ps with that deep passion that always rendered me lightheaded and left me aching for more. I returned it with equal gusto, relishing in the pleasure he gave to me. I could never get enough of him. ” I’m super sleepy and, thanks to you spoiling me, I can’t sleep alone anymore.

” Good, it means you need me. ” He replied with a cocky smile. ” I will always need you. So don’t put yourself in danger because of me. ” I whispered, cupping his face. I stared into those gorgeous grey eyes. ” I won’t. ” And I believed him. At least for me, I hoped he wouldn’t. I wrapped my arms around him tighter, k!ssing him deeply … It was the following day, and Rayhan and I were on our way back to a certain part of the king’s lands. It was where we would be performing the spell to summon Janaina.

I just hoped we succeeded. I had asked Rayhan about Liam and he had told me about the situation with his mate. I had been shocked, I felt sorry for the woman too. Right now, she had neither of her mates, according to Rayhan. I wonder what went through the moon goddess’s mind. Why would she cause so much pain to her wolves? We soon arrived at the open forest.

Looking around, I saw that Alejandro’s car was already there. Raihana stood leaning against it, sipping away at her water bottle. ” Finally, you guys have arrived. What the f*ck took so long? ” The King asked, a cold look on his face. ” We aren’t actually that late. Chill the f*ck out. ” Rayhan shot back coldly. ” So let’s get to this shit then. ” The king said. I looked between them suspiciously, wondering what exactly happened between them. ” Seriously, did the location have to be here? The ground was so hard to walk on! ” Raihana complained after she gave me and Rayhan a tight hug. I glanced at her shoes, noticing she was wearing three–inch heels … No wonder I was hard to walk … ” Diva much? ” Rayhan asked her with a small smirk. ” Alright, got all the shit needed? ” The king asked.

” Yes, we do. ” I said, taking my bag of candles and crystals from Rayhan. He gave a curt nod and I got to work. Setting up the candles on the best flat surface I could find. ” So, Marcel mentioned you made a f*cking mess. ” The king’s voice was quiet as they stood away. He was speaking very low, but I could just about catch it. ” And? ” Rayhan’s cold voice shot back. Raihana walked over to me and crouched down to watch. ” Didn’t I say to at least think of the f*cking repercussions? ” The king hissed. ” Don’t be a f*cking hypocrite. ” Rayhan growled, and this time both Raihana and I turned towards them.

His anger was blazing around him as he glared at his uncle. ” This is not the same, times have- ” ” For your entire f*cking life, you behaved like a f*cking dipsh*t. I don’t give a shit about the reasons you had. Sure, you were different and had to f*cking hide who you were, but Dad bent over backward for you. Don’t think I was f*cking blind to it. Delsanra has been treated like shit her entire life, without even one f*cking person who cared. Do you see her walking around acting like a f*cking bitter twat? ” Rayhan snapped, his eyes blazing green as he stared at his uncle. ” You had Dad.

She didn’t have anyone like him either. I will do as I f*cking want and if it goes against your f*cking rules, then to hell with them. The Black Storm pack will break away from the council and its goddamn rules. ” Oh yeah? Do you think one lone pack is going to be able to stand against every pack in the entire f*cking country? ” Yeah. If the need arises, I sure can. ” Rayhan said. ” I made mistakes in my past, Rayhan, doesn’t mean you need to do the same. ” He said coldly. ” Then let me make mine and learn from them. ” Rayhan said, walking away from him. He came over to where Raihana and I were.

I sighed. This was my fault … ” It’s not. ” Rayhan said quietly. I looked up at him. ” No, it ain’t your f*cking fault, spitfire. ” The king said as he crouched down to examine the symbols I had drawn. ” He’s doing what he wants because he’s a f*cking arrogant Alpha and a Rossi at that . I probably would have done the same shit if I was him.

” I felt relieved as the two men glared at each other before the king smirked coldly. ” Although I think your style’s kinda f*cking interesting. Never thought you had it in you, pretty boy. ” He added, looking up at Rayhan, who simply frowned at him. Raihana shook her head. ” Men have too much test0sterone, I swear. ” She said, tossing her hair. ” So, am I doing the spell or you? ” I will. It has to be me … ” I said, tilting my head. I flicked my finger and the candles blazed up.

I felt my powers surge and I heard the king swear as I stood up Rayhan’s hand brushed my waist, pulling me behind him slightly, I looked up at him, our eyes meeting, and I gave him a small smile. I knew I had changed. I was beginning to feel that small switch that happened inside of me. For some reason, he glared at his sister and uncle. ” Ok Raihana, you know what to do if this doesn’t work. ” I said, turning away. As Raihana said, men had too many h0rmones raging … She nodded, and the men exchanged looks. ” I never liked this woman. ” The king said coldly.

” Who do you ever like Uncle? ” Raihana chipped in making me smile. ” She’s our best shot, being a lone witch. ” Rayhan added. A sharp wind blew, and I closed my eyes ready to start when the king spoke again. ” Are you sure you can locate her? Last I knew she was using a spell to keep herself from being found. ” ” My powers are different. Why do you think I’m an outcast? ” I asked. Or the reason Endora wanted me? Closing my eyes, I chanted the spell, feeling the heat rage through me, the painful tug at my chest. I gritted my teeth, continuing with the spell …

RAYHAN

The wind whipped around her, and we were forced back. ” The f*ck is she? ” Uncle Al muttered, his sharp eyes looking at Delsanra. I glared at him, remembering what Raihana had said about her looking appealing. ” Don’t look at her. ” ” I growled. He cocked his brow smirking, and I knew he had clicked on. ” I’m not the one you should worry about, I’m mated. Think of all the f*cking single men out there … ” He taunted. My anger grew as he simply looked back at her. ” So, what is she? ” He asked, glancing at the growing storm that swirled around Delsanra.

I hated that she was forced to do so much when her powers were locked away. ” A hybrid most likely. ” I said quietly. ” Yeah, I got that. What the f*ck of? ” ” I have my theories …. but no f*cking proof. ” I muttered just as the storm settled and the flames blazed high. There in the center of the star on the ground, the shadow of a woman appeared. She looked alarmed as she looked around at us all, her eyes settling on Delsanra as her form solidified. ” Wow, she f*cking managed it. ” Uncle Al muttered as we stepped closer. ” It’s her alright. ” ” I, Delsanra Diana Silver, have summoned you, Janaina, to request help. ” Delsanra said clearly.

I walked over to her, taking her hand. The woman stayed silent, her eyes flittering between us once again. ” What a surprise … Of all people, who thought it would be you to summon me. ” She said, a small smirk crossing her l!ps. ” Care to explain? ” Uncle Al cut in. ” I think we need to meet in person … I have no idea why you are with these mutts, Delsanra … but I can see you are weakened … I have been waiting for this day …

Meet me at Morecambe Bay at the small lodge, Salter Inn, tonight. We will talk there. ” Jainana said. Well, for someone who was summoned, she sure knew how to take charge …. Before any of us could even reply, she flicked her hands and the spell broke. Delsanra almost fell to her knees, but I caught her. ” That was not what I was f*cking expecting. ” Uncle Al muttered. ” Well, there’s only one thing we can do. Get to Morecambe. ” I furrowed my brows. ” That’s a two–hour drive. ” Uncle countered. ” Well, let’s grab some snacks and drive… One car or two? ” Raihana asked, admiring her nails.

Uncle and I exchanged looks. I looked down at Delsanra, k!ssing her shoulder. I guess we were going to be spending another few hours in the car. ” One should do. ” Uncle grunted, as Raihana gathered the things up, before holding her arms out to Uncle. I raised an eyebrow as he lifted her bridal style. ” Do I look like your f*cking slave? ” He said coldly, despite the fact he had no issue with obliging to her request. ” Of course not, you’re just my cute handsome strong uncle. ” Raihana cooed , patting Uncle’s face . ” Seriously? ” I said to her. ” What? I’m wearing my Valentinos. ” She whined, swinging her legs, showing off her heels. ” Right … ” I said. Delsanra smiled as I took her hand and we all walked back towards the cars …

RAFAEL

Seeing my mate in so much pain hurt, yet at the same time, I was torn. Her stubbornness was blinding her … She refused to listen, eat or even speak. In the end, I resorted to call Amir, her father. Knowing of his hatred I wasn’t sure how he’d take it, but one thing I knew about the older man was that he was wise. Despite his strong opinions and traditional ways, he was fair and believed in reason. I just hoped he would see the reason this time as well. I opened the door to our bedroom, looking at my beautiful mate as she sat on the bed. Her long black hair was braided, her white silk nightdress did little to hide the four large scars that ran across her back, making my chest squeeze painfully. Scars that she kept hidden from all. I walked over to her, kneeling down beside her, and took her hand in mine. She didn’t look at me. Her eyes held pain.

” Go away, Rafael. ” She said softly, her chest heaving. I k!ssed her knuckles softly, reaching up, I caressed her cheek. ” Please, my dove, don’t do this. ” I whispered. ” I have taught my children love, I have tried … tried my best to shape Rayhan into a loving, caring young man who would never raise a hand on a woman or an innocent … but in the end, the Rossi b***d rúns deep. Endora’s b***d runs deep … What of mine? ” She asked me, her eyes pained.

My heart ached seeing the agony she was in. I knew where this doubt came from, our past … ” Raihana and Rayhan are still your children, that you raised. They love you and they will never let you down. ” I said softly. ” I can’t accept that Raihana is a witch. Don’t you understand the darkness that comes with that power, Rafael? ” She whispered now staring down at me, her gorgeous grey eyes full of pain and anguish. ” A darkness she will fight, not all witches are dark- ” ” Endora was darkness! I don’t know about Delsanra, but Raihana has Endora’s b***d running through her! My Raihana!

” And she is still yours. ” I said, ” This is my fault. After all, I’m the one who passed that lineage down to them. Then blame me, hate me, not them. ” She looked at me, shaking her head, angrily pulling away as she brushed her tears aside. ” Blame you? All my life, all I hear from you is to blame you! Rafael! You are the only person who puts everyone else before yourself. That will be your downfall. ” She said, standing up. ” Just the way it almost was … Years ago … “

She walked away and I closed my eyes. My chest tightened painfully as that fateful day flashed before my eyes. The day my mate suffered so greatly because of me … – NINETEEN YEARS AGO

( FLASHBACK Once again)

, Alejandro has lost control. His anger was raging free, but I refused to hurt him. Trying my best to calm him down, I was just getting hurt in the process, but I’d heal like every time … Although this time … he was angrier than ever. ‘

I hated that I subjected her to this, but it had to be me, I couldn’t allow the others to know what he was. I had made sure no one was on the mansion grounds. Here it was just me and my family. Almost every other day she was forced to watch her mate get hurt. I hated seeing her in pain, but I was torn between the love I have for my brother, who needed support, and the love I have for my mate. In the beginning, she would shout and scream at me to let him go, to stop allowing him to be around us when he was harming me, but I refused to. He needed someone, and I would always be that rock for him. I vowed I’d always give her every other happiness in life, and listen to her every wish.

Because even though she’s began to hate my brother for the way he treats me, over time she’s learned to remain silent about it, becoming accustomed to it somewhat. After every beating, she rushes to my side to treat my injuries, crying quietly as she tends to me. The pain we feel when our mates are hurt is no small feat, and my dove has been put through it, time and again. Sometimes she would just turn away, not able to bear watching me go through this. The pain she feels as she watches me struggle to contain Alejandro’s Lycan form cuts through my heart every single time.

This time it is worse than before, the rain is pouring down and Alejandro is on a rampage. I wasn’t able to control him, not this time … Some of the wolves had triggered him off so badly. I told Maria to lock the doors and stay inside with Rayhan, we had just found out she was pregnant with our second pup too. But she didn’t listen. Alejandro was ready to tear me apart, I was falling to the ground with Alejandro lunging at me for the finishing strike when Maria’s scream piercéd the air as she rushed from the house. Falling to her knees, she wrapped her arms around me, shielding me from his attack, only for his claws to rip through her back. Her fragile body trembled as she tried to protect me right before I fell unconscious, sensing her body falling on top of me, the smell of b***d strong in the air …

That injury had been so deep that although it healed, it left deep scars. After all, her pregnancy with Raihana had weakened her greatly. We never knew why, but the result was that she would always hold the reminder of that night on her back. One that she never liked to mention. The night she saved my life was the night she also saved Alejandro from more guilt. He didn’t remember what happened that night, and we never told him because she said it wasn’t necessary as she was fine. But I also knew it was because of the fear I had that he would run away. For me, she did things without rubbing it in or stating she was doing it for me.

She was my rock, the one who had the patience to stand by my side through all my decisions, no matter how painful they were to her. She never told anyone, although I knew if she had told her father or brother, they would have been hell-bent on killing Alejandro and taking her from me. I know people say she’s aloof and closed, but beneath that exterior is a woman who was forced to watch her mate being beaten time and time again.

A woman who grew to fear Alejandro, and I didn’t blame her, but I also didn’t blame him. She was a woman who pretended everything was ok, showing the world that she was strong and able. I knew her reaction was in a way to protect herself from further pain, by lashing out and trying to keep herself safe. To pray that it somehow goes away.
