Her Forever
Chapter 27

Nathan

It’s been a week since I’ve been put down in the pack prison. Seth beat me to a bloody pulp, only to have me heal and stick me behind bars and held up by silver chains. The first few days, he had the guard spray wolfsbane in my face to keep my wolf away. Something that every wolf finds as torture.

Being alone for a few days, disconnected from my wolf, made me realize how much of a screw-up I was. I didn’t even regret trying to keep Sadie to myself. I still wanted her, and I would almost do anything to get her back.

She’s human, so I’m hoping she doesn’t feel the same pull as most werewolves do when they find their mate. Knowing my luck, she feels the pull, and my attempts to win her back would be worthless.

For the stunt I pulled, I know I’m on death row. Trying to steal mates is a high offense, but it is ultimately up to the wolf you tried to steal from. I picked the worst mated pair to steal. Seth is ruthless, even though he is my friend, I mean, was.

It was feared respect that I had for him. He took me out of darkness plenty of times. My original pack was killed by some rogue vampire’s back in our home realm of Bergarian. He saw me and my family fight them off and was impressed with my strength and determination, despite losing everything in a matter of minutes. He adopted my whole family into the warrior pack.

Rebecca came by several times just to yell and scream at me. All the guards did was laugh and chuckle at my expense. They knew what I did, and they were honestly surprised I wasn’t dead or tortured yet. I’m sure Sadie had something to do with it.

“You know, Sadie saved your life, Nathan,” Rebecca explained. “She is even trying to get your release and be given a second chance.”

“Really?” I smiled.

“That doesn’t mean she cares for you, Nathan. The bond is already strong with Seth, extremely strong.” She warned.

I sighed and leaned my head back on the concrete wall. That would be my luck.

“Nathan, be happy you are alive. You will meet your mate. Look how long it took Seth.” I nodded my head, letting her know I was done talking. She walked down the hall until the darkness swallowed her figure.

This was not what I was hoping. All was lost at this point. He might as well kill me now. If there were no bond, Sadie would love me. Sadie could fall in love with me as humans fall in love with each other. In all honesty, that sounds like something I would like. Take her on dates, not rushing things, and simply be with one another without other wolves constantly asking you if you had found your mate and marked her.

If it was all possible, the prison got colder, and a wind blew through the halls. The guards perked up, trying to listen or smell of anything peculiar. My head lifted, and I heard my chains rattle against the wall. A bright light lasted a fraction of a second, and all the guards fell to the floor.

All I could do was wait to see what happened next. I was the only one left conscious in the hallway. I could hear light taps of the feet hitting the wet cobblestone. It was so light, and a common ear could not hear the sounds.

Finally, a tall, slender man with a face as pale as the moonlight came in front of my cell. His eyes were glowing red, and his stench smelled of rotting flesh and b***d. His scent was masked, and I could hardly smell him until he reached me.

“Hello there, puppy,” he smirked with his smooth voice.

“What the hell do you want?” I spat. Wolves and vampires stay away from each other, and our smells rile each other up when we weren’t mated to one. Vampires have a beast like ours known as demons, but I’ve heard they rarely talk to their beasts. It is more like their alter ego.

“Tsk, tsk, should you be saying that to your rescuer?” he paced up and down the cell bars, hitting each one with a key.

“Why would you rescue me? Why do you care?”

“I have a proposition, puppy. One that would benefit us both.” He drawled.

“How do you know what I want?” I questioned.

“You want to make a claim to the Warrior Pack’s soon-to-be Luna.” He smiled and unlocked the cell.

“She is already bonding with him, and I can’t take her away. I won’t force her. No deal.” I said, sitting back down.

“What if I told you,” he walked closer, “That I can erase the bond and make her forget her mate?” he kneeled down and unlocked the chains.

“I’d say you are crazy.”

“It’s true, and I’ve got very powerful creatures on my side.” He stood up, letting me have room to get up. “I just need your cooperation.”

“Why would you do this for me? What is in it for you?” This sounds too good to be true. Why would he really want to help me?

“I don’t want her to mate with the Alpha warrior, and it will make him too powerful. This is something the Vamparia Kingdom doesn’t want. We cannot have one species more powerful than the other. Having the upper hand in Bergarian can cause issues, you understand?” he said sinisterly.

“So, you will make her forget Seth? Where do I go from there? I can’t take her back to Bergarian.”

“No, you will be given payment from the King of Vampires himself, and you can live in the Earth realm with her. Take her and move her far away from the portal. That’s all.” He waved his hand dismissively.

Mated couples make them stronger. Seth’s wolf would be indestructible. He can already half-shift and hold it. That is something the King of the Wolves can barely do. This b***d-sucker has a point. I could have Sadie and keep from Seth being too powerful. That way, it wouldn’t disrupt a balance.

“Fine, I’ll do it,” I said. “No harm in coming to Sadie during all of this. Is that understood?”

“Yes, yes, all of that.” He chuckled darkly. “Now, we like to move in the night, tomorrow evening, your chains will become unlocked, and all the guards and warriors, including Seth, will be out of the pack house. Find Sadie and have her come with you to her cabin. We will get you both out from there.”

I couldn’t believe this was actually happening. I was going to have my chance with Sadie and be with her. We could live together and start a family and love each other. We could go anywhere, live quietly.

“I’ll be ready.”

Sadie

I couldn’t help but blush as I woke up this morning. There was something inside me last night that made me so bold and daring. Seth had been so attentive to me the past week and never asked for anything in return. I just had to return the favor, and I think he liked it!

Thankfully, I had access to a computer because I literally did not know what I was doing. After 20 minutes of watching some crazy videos and literally blushing and covering my eyes for more than half of it, I got the main idea.

Seth is still holding me; he doesn’t let me move much in the night, not that I’m complaining. He’s so comfortable and makes me feel so safe and warm. He is my own little heater, which is great because I’m always cold.

“Baby, are you OK? Your heart is racing.” Seth’s voice says deep and husky. His voice is so sexy in the morning.

“Mhm, I was just thinking,” I whispered.

“About what?” He buried his head into my neck and k**s my collar bone.

“Um, stuff.” I started blushing, and I’m sure my heart skipped a beat.

“Oh, about last night?” he smiled while keeping his eyes closed and mouth to my shoulder.

I gasped, “Can you read my mind??” he chuckled.

“Not yet Love, once we are mated and marked, we will.” He pulled me up onto his chest, so I was lying on top of him.

“Really? That sounds amazing! I can’t wait!” I said excitedly. Sitting up and straddling him, my hair fell in front of my face. He took one hand and set it on my h*p, and the other brushed my hair behind my ear.

“You are so beautiful; how did the Moon Goddess give me an angel like you? I don’t deserve your love.” He said sadly.

“We deserve each other,” I grabbed his hand on put it on my cheek, “remember the story? We are each other’s missing pieces. We balance each other. You are protective and strong, and I’m a bit too trusting and motherly. We are supposed to be together. We complement each other.” I kissed the palm of his hand.

Seth quickly sat up, and his mouth found mine. His teeth pulled at my l*p, and I squealed at the intrusion, and he laughed into my mouth. His hands roamed my body when we heard a knock at the door.

“Can we get a “do not disturb” sign?” I asked.

Seth grunted, “unfortunately, until we are mated, it will always be like this.”

I didn’t understand, but I quickly got off of Seth’s lap, and Seth answered the door.

“Good morning, Alpha,” Marco stated.

“Call me Seth, Marco. No one is around.” Seth waved him in and sat down in the living room. I had just put on my light skinny jeans and a hunter green shirt with a black cardigan.

“I’ve come bearing great news, Alpha. I wanted to give it to you in person.” He smiled.

“Well, out with it already, Marco!” Seth laughed.

“The Ministry is on their way, and they should arrive tomorrow morning.” Marco clapped his hands afterward.

“Excellent!” Seth gave Marco one of those big man hugs and with sharp slaps to the back.

My head has felt fine the past week, with no more headaches or random bleeding eyes. I’m thinking it really was just a random act of my body taking in so much information. Finding out about werewolves, mates, and all were kind of lot for my small mind.

“That’s great!” I jumped. “Then I can start going out more, right?! I miss going to the diner!”

“Hold on there,” Seth started, “one step at a time Love, alright?”

I pouted, “possessive alpha.” I crossed my arms and went to walk downstairs to start breakfast.

Seth

After Sadie left, I could sit down with Marco. I knew there was something else that was bothering him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come upstairs.

“Alpha, The Ministry is coming, but my wolf has been on edge. Several other warriors from our home pack feel the same,” he said concerned.

“I agree; something is going to happen before they get here. Someone or something is causing a disturbance. I felt it early this morning. It was so faint I almost didn’t notice it.”

“Have you heard anything regarding the roses or the vampire situation, Alpha?” The entire group of warriors have been on high alert, knowing their Luna is in danger of not just her health but also from a bloodsucker makes it worse. Warriors have been taking double shifts by patrolling and watching her in the pack house. They’ve all become very fond of her kindness.

“I’ve heard nothing. The only thing I know is that these roses mean a vampire has strong intentions to make her their mate. I just want to know how they found her, and she lived in a town with hardly any supernaturals. Just the occasional shifters.”

“It would help if we could really dig into her past, but as she said, she remembers nothing under the age of 5. She has always known her aunt, not even what happened to her parents.” I said sadly. “This makes me think she has a memory spell on her.”

“I never thought about that, Seth. I guess it is good you demanded them to come in.”

“Of course it is, plus they need to make sure she is healthy for the change she will go through. She said she wanted to be mated, marked, and even become one of us.” I said, smiling.

“So soon? I thought it would take a bit to tame a human,” he laughed wholeheartedly.

“Well, her aunt primed her for it; I guess I’ll always be thankful for that. She said once she found her soulmate, never to let him go. She knew she couldn’t come back with me unless she changed, and she didn’t even question it.”

“Congratulations, Alpha. Little Fox is going to make an amazing wolf. I’m excited to see what she looks like. She’s pretty fast.”

“Trust me, I know.” I laughed. The first night I met her, seeing her run through the forest in her tiny bikini and climbing a tree will always be ingrained in my mind.

“I’ll have double the guards out tonight; Sadie will be safe,” Marco said confidently.

“I have faith in all the pack Marco, trust me.”
