Her Forever
Chapter 36

Seth

Sadie had been gone for almost 6 days when I finally found her lying on the dark mansion floor. She had lost weight. Her face was gaunt, she was always on the smaller side, but now she was more fragile. Her hair was out of place, black smudges around her eyes as if she had been crying. I was going to kill the fucker; I was going to rip the parts that make him think he was a man and feed them to a low-lying cat.

Her body was almost lifeless as Ethan held her in his arms. If he wasn’t mated, I would have been livid if someone held my mate, no matter the state. Ethan only saw her as his Luna and was doing what was best for her by having the help of Rebecca by covering her. Sadie’s arms tried to move towards me, but even that was too difficult.

When I first barged through the double doors, I didn’t see her in the main hallway and ran straight up the darkened stairs. These fuckers like to have it dark; vampires feel hidden in the night even though they know werewolves could see just fine. I stood at the top of the stairs where I could still smell a slight linger of Sadie’s smell. I found King Drago banging on the doors, trying to be let out.

The weak vampire couldn’t even break down his own doors. I had ripped open the doors to see b***d coming from his mouth, and with a quick survey of the room, I saw Sadie was nowhere to be found.

King Drago’s eyes were red. He had just fed from my precious mate and had his fill from her. My vision became red as Caspian came forward into my mind and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. Drago struggled, and his eyes widened at the fact I could overpower him. Some sort of magic or force was holding down his powers, and I could take him with ease.

I marched to the wall and threw his head against the fireplace mantel, making his head crack with the pressure. My claws came forth from my other hand as I clawed down his torso. His cries only fueled my anger as I plunged into his chest to pull out his lifeless heart. Even though a vampire’s heart never beats, the only way to kill one is to sink a wooden dogwood stake through its heart or venom of a werewolf’s bite directly into the organ.

Caspian snarled as I held the lifeless lump of meat and shoved his heart directly into Drago’s face. As soon as Caspian opened our mouth, we heard a slight whimper from downstairs that was of our mate. Being the love-sick puppy we were, the moment of concentration was broken, and Drago grabbed his heart as his companion, Raul, ripped him from my claws. The sound of bars and glass breaking by the window let me know he had escaped.

“Damn it!” I roared. As I was about to jump through the window, I heard Ethan mind-linking me. “Alpha, Sadie is here, and she needs you!”

I ran through the hallway barefoot and still naked as the day I came into the world. Jumping off the 2nd-floor railing, I found Sadie in Ethan’s arms. I quickly grabbed her from him and held her to my chest. The b***d dripping from her neck and the possible venom in her made my wolf howl in pain with panic.

“Seth,” Rebecca linked me. “We need to make sure there isn’t any venom, or she could turn. He didn’t mate with her, but he could have started the process, I’m not sure.” She said, panicking.

I looked at Sadie, and she had a slight smile on her face as she looked at me. She looked at me like I was her savior, but I was far from it. She was captured because I wasn’t there to take care of her, and the past week she was alone without me. Sadie has never dealt with this type of supernatural battle. She should be overwhelmed like this, especially me keeping information from her. Yet here she is, smiling at me.

“Sadie, I’m going to get some of the venom out. Try not to move,” I begged. She hummed in response and just tasting her b***d, and I could tell there was no venom, thank goddess. Sucking a bit of the b***d out, being careful not to take too much, I spit to the right of me on the floor. Several captured vampires hissed at the entryway, smelling the fresh b***d.

As I wrapped her up, ready to depart, she looked up at me and told me the three words I thought she would never say to me again.

“I love you,” she whispered. My wolf was elated that she still loved me, even after all that had happened to her.. and I couldn’t hide the enormous grin that sat on my ugly mug of a face. My baby still loved me. It felt like the first time she said it all over again- my human loved me. I whispered back the same as I felt a small tear run down. With a bond like ours, I melt entirely in her presence. She was my other half, and she made me feel things like I never thought I could. She made me weak yet strong at the same time.

Her eyes start to flutter from both exhaustion, and I’m sure, lack of b***d, but she quickly regained her consciousness to let me know of someone that helped her.

“Diana, she helped me. Someone needs to help her.” She whispered.

With a quick nod, Nathan and Marco sprinted through the mansion to find the woman called Diana. Once my mate was asleep, we heard a loud roar and someone claiming their mate. I couldn’t help but smile at my sleeping mate. She had already paired up one of our wolves with this girl named Diana.

Sadie was completely wrapped up in a blanket, snuggled into a cocoon. Rebecca and Lela immediately shifted back into wolf forms as we left the mansion, flanking both of my sides. Their wolves had become stronger overnight; they were both ruthless as we stormed through the courtyards.

Vampires go immediately for the throat, our weakness. It is soft, and the muscle isn’t as strong in that particular spot. If they can twist the neck just right, we will go limp in an instant. For vamps, we go to the head or the heart. Knocking it clear off their body or ripping the heart out. B***d had soaked the grass as we trailed through.

The front yard was a complete mess. Drago wasted no time bringing in some of his own vampire armies; it makes me sad to think that some Vampires are so blind to see this jealous vamp rage for someone that wasn’t even his. Maybe they had been tricked, hell we will never know. Had they all followed him from the trying to snatch her away? They had to realize there was something a miss.

They needed to grow a pair.

As we walked through the m******e of bodies, several warriors were staking their hearts, not wanting to get any b***d in their mouths. Vampires tasted as awful as they smelled. Rotting flesh over a hot stone in the dead heat of summer.

I nodded over at one of my warriors as he continued to stake them quickly so we could all get home. Ash was nothing to be seen as we finally left the darkened mansion behind us.

“Where do you think they went?” Mark jogged up beside me. “I’ve checked the perimeter around the house, but I couldn’t get a smell.” I checked Sadie one more time to see her still sleeping.

“That Raul character took him, the one that helped Nathan in the beginning. When he took Drago, he didn’t look too happy about getting his king out of there. Maybe he will finish him in his weakened state, but I highly doubt that.”

The crunch of the fallen leaves multiplied as wolves gathered around us. Many ran forward to encircle Sadie and me. The Warrior Pack was an excellent league of some of the finest warriors. They were loyal and faithful to their Alpha, my father Liam, and were equally willing to listen to me, the next in line. I smiled, thinking they would actually listen to me. I could be scary as s**t, but now that I have my future Luna, they instantly saw the change in me.

Back at the pack house, Nathan had his hands around the woman that was supposedly his mate. After dealing with Nathan trying to claim Sadie as his, I was skeptical. He had been going mate crazy the past few weeks, so how was I to know if this really was his mate? Nathan knew Sadie would be sure to protect him if she knew he had finally found her.

“Diana,” I spoke. Diana glanced up at me. She differed from any vampire that I had ever met. Her hair was almost stark white, and her eyes were red, along with nails. She was a different kind of beautiful, and she also had a magical aura about her.

“There is something different about you.” I rounded the office desk and sat on it in front of them. Nathan was holding her hand, longing to have her closer. You could tell she was hesitant, looking at him and his hand on hers. “Why are you different from any other vampire I have ever met?” Diana looked at me and automatically put her eyes down on her lap. She could sense my power, and I could easily overpower her, but I knew the magic within her would be a challenge.

“Drago’s father had a fling after his beloved had perished in a poisoning. The witch had supposedly seduced him, and once I was born, she was killed for tricking a king… It was said she was a powerful witch.” Her voice was soft, “I’m half-vampire, half-witch. I don’t even know my mother’s name,” she said sadly.

“A mix?” I internally questioned. It was almost unheard of. When mates of different species mixed, their offspring would take one or the other species of a parent. A mix of a child. I have never even seen one, let alone heard of ancient stories.

Nathan’s chair moved closer, and his arm went around her shoulders. Diana still was having trouble deciding to accept the affection. Before I could continue, Nathan’s loud mouth spoke. “Do you know what a mate is?” he said longingly. She nodded her head yes and put her head down. “Have you felt our bond at all?”

“Yes, but I think we should talk about that more privately,” she whispered, and looked up at me. Nodding my head, I continued my questions.

“I need to know what happened to Sadie, and I need her entire story. Are you able to give that to me now?”

“Certainly. I can give you all that information and whatever you need. I think Sadie would like to be included, and this is her past we are talking about. She feels hurt that she is the only one not knowing what is going on in her life. I’ve been able to see in her memories, and that is where a lot of her insecurities lie, even right now. Even if you feel you cannot see it in her.” I nodded in agreement.

“Can we trust you, Diana? It is said you are extremely powerful, and you’ve been working with King Drago all this time.”

“I understand your skepticism. If you wish for me to stay in the dungeon, I would not be opposed- “

Nathan interrupted, “Absolutely not. She can stay with me. I’ll be with her. We can have another witch enchant my room if needed.” Nathan argued as he stood up from his chair.

I stood up immediately and puffed out my chest, being upset with his defiance. “You do not get to decide. Your life is still on the line, and I think you know why!” I bellowed. I did not want to be the one to bring up the past, but it looked like Diana already knew, and a small tear ran down her face. A witch this powerful could see Sadie’s memories so easily. I’m sure she already read Nathan’s.

Nathan was going to have a long road with his mate, which he deserved. “I will allow it but make no more demands, Nathan. Get the word out to Bergarian and have an enchantress enchant the room. She is free to walk around the pack house as long as she is with you.” Diana gave me a small smile in thanks, and I walked out of the room.

Sadie had been sleeping for nearly two days, and I knew her time to wake up was near. I had never been so worried in all my years. I was always so confident in battles and fights that I had been in, but when your mate was on the line, something else can take over a wolf.

Fear.

I couldn’t lose my mate in such a short amount of time. Her body may be weak, but her spirit was strong. I couldn’t wait to bring her back to be the Luna of our pack. To share responsibilities with her and to share my love for her. I’d spoil the s**t out of her, and I’d make her even crazier about me when we finally marked each other.

I took off my shirt and curled up into bed with her. I was hoping she would awaken by morning. She had stirred today, moving her limbs. I knew she was tired, and Sadie was never one to want to sleep for long. Too busy thinking about cooking or getting to know the rest of the house.

I let out an enormous sigh as I pulled her body close to mine.
