Her Forever -
Chapter 41
Sadie
I had only been pampered once, and it was with Rebecca and Lela when they got me ready to see Seth on one of my dates. The waxing, the pulling, and trying on clothes were enough to make me sick. Diana, however. She was really enjoying herself.
“This is amazing!” Diana said while she had a face mask on with cucumbers. “I’ve experienced nothing like it. Thank you all so much!” Rebecca and Lela laughed as I painted her toenails and the other girls attacked her eyebrows. “No problem, your brows needed it!” Laughed Rebecca.
“Do you think your mate will like the pampered you?” I asked playfully.
“I told you before, and I don’t think he truly wants me,” Diana frowned.
“Are you crazy? Since you kicked him out of your room this morning, he has been whining and crying downstairs. It is the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. I’m sure if he shifted, he would have a tail under his legs!” Lela said, while we all started laughing.
“Has he treated you right so far, though? Has he really given you a reason he wouldn’t want you?” Rebecca asked while she massaged Diana’s shoulders
“When he burst into my room, the night he saved us,” Diana pointed to herself and me, “he held me the rest of the night and told me how happy he was to find me. Nathan didn’t leave my side and made me feel wanted. Ever since that night, he has always tended to me.” Diana looked down at her hands. “I’ve felt wanted and loved for the first time.”
“But?” Rebecca urged her to continue.
“When I heard what he did, trying to force a mate out of you, Sadie. It just rubbed me the wrong way. He was tired of waiting like I wasn’t worth it. A mate wasn’t worth it.”
I nodded my head. “You are right, and I see your reasoning. He was wrong, but I know he is sorry. I don’t think he understood what a gift a mate really is. He lost a lot of family members to rogues, and I don’t know if his parents taught them much that much about the sacredness of it. Nathan was too busy surviving. He grew up in Seth’s pack and trained. That is all he knew.”
Diana nodded and kept silent for a few minutes before speaking again. “I’m willing to try to see if something comes out of it, I think. We were paired for a reason, right?”
I smiled at her and put my hand on the same leg that I was painting her toes on. “Absolutely. I 100% believe that. Now hush and concentrate on the meditation music and relax.”
Diana let out a huff, and her arms crossed over her torso. As the girls were finishing the spa day, I headed downstairs to make sure the second part of my plan was into the action. The gazebo was ready, and I did everything as cliche as I could. I was a sucker for romance novels, and the way Diana told me how she loved to read romance as I did, this was sure to win her over to Nathan. She wanted a mate; she wanted someone to love her, so why not go all out?
I walked into the hallway to go check on the preparations outside. Walking down the stairs, I see Nathan at the bottom. His hair had been cut, and he was in a sharp-looking grey-colored tailored suit. One hand was in his pocket, and he kept running his hand through one side of his hair. Nathan was nervous, the player Nathan was nervous! I wanted to jump up and down and squeal for the excitement that went through me.
Nathan looked up and saw me coming down the stairs. I couldn’t help but smile at him as I jumped the last remaining steps. “Are you ready, Nathan?” I whispered. “Do you have your poem or declaration of love of some kind?” I elbowed him in the ribs. He chuckled nervously.
“Yeah, I do.” He nodded. “I just hope she will still accept me.” His fingers tightened up his tie, and he continued to look at the ground. I bent down low and looked up at him to catch his eyes. “She will, Nathan. She has to. Tell her your feelings, just know that you will have to go slow with her. Diana is a wonderful girl that has been through a lot, and she doesn’t think she is worthy of your love.”
Nathan looked at me quizzically. “She will tell you her story another time, but for now, concentrate on her and the now. Make her feel loved.” I patted his shoulder. “Come on, it is almost time, and I need to show you your position.”
We walked outside, and the gazebo had been prepared as I asked. Some wolves were standing around, as well as those in human form. They were all looking at Nathan, some with disgust and some with hope in their eyes. Many still found Nathan as a traitor to the pack since trying to mask my scent to keep me from Seth, their Alpha. I looked around at the peering eyes and stood up straight. “Listen, everyone.” I could feel Seth’s presence, but wasn’t sure where he was standing. “I have forgiven Nathan for his transgressions. He has always been loyal to his Alpha, and this one mistake I have asked to be overlooked. When you have lived for such a long time, I’m sure anyone would be frustrated to find someone to love. However, his mistake led him to find his true mate, and if the Goddess Selene allowed it, then I believe he should be forgiven. I do not want to see any more malice towards him, or you can answer to the Alpha.”
My voice seemed to echo through the forest. Every werewolf stood still and pondered my words. Heads bowed, and the noises in the forest stilled. I looked around in confusion, and Seth grabbed my hand. “Congratulations, Love, you used your Luna’s voice.”
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Your Luna voice, you commanded everyone to listen, and they listened. Just like an Alpha command, they have to obey.”
“Oh, I didn’t mean to do that,” I whispered. “I was just tired of them being mean to Nathan.” I pouted. Seth laughed and nuzzled into my neck. “Either way, it was exceedingly sexy.” Seth sucked on my earlobe while I started giggling. Everyone got back to their normal activities, and Nathan kept staring at us.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Nathan said.
“I know, but you and Diana deserve a fresh start. With that, I think Diana shouldn’t have guards with her all the time, babe.” I turned to Seth.
“Just a little longer, then we can just have her on watch, alright?” Seth said authoritatively. I nodded and smiled at my small group of friends. I have never felt more at home than I did right now.
It was almost time. The gazebo had a white carpet that led up to the front of the steps of the gazebo. The sun was setting, and the golden rays of sunlight showed through the trees, giving it a magical look. Fairy lights adorned the top, while white tulle was wrapped around the columns. I was hoping Diana would love it, as much as I know she was going to love Nathan.
“Love, they are coming out now,” Seth spoke to me as I finished tying the last burlap ribbon around the column to hold the tulle.
“Ready, Nathan? Just stand here, and she will walk to you! Good luck!” Seth and I walked to the side while many other pack members came to see the commotion. I didn’t tell them to stay away, and I wanted everyone to watch how a man that had made such a mistake was making it up to his mate. That anyone that made a mistake, there was time for redemption if one wanted it. This was his time to shine, to be an example to others, as well as to win his mate’s heart.
Rebecca and Lela smiled at Diana, who looked utterly lost as they led her down the white carpet to the gazebo. The red number of a dress that Lela found for her complimented her milky skin. Her hair was done in neat curls that fell and covered her chest. She was the epitome of beauty. Nathan’s smile overshadowed the few tears that had left his eyes. He held onto a beautiful bouquet of small sunflowers, daisies, and wildflowers that he excellently wrapped with a white ribbon to match the tulle from the gazebo. One hand was tucked inside his pocket, and Diana couldn’t help but smile when she finally reached him.
The sun had finally set, and the only light came from the fairy lights that glowed near their faces as I was getting ready to hear Nathan pour his heart onto his sleeve for not only in front of Diana but for the rest of the pack. I felt a gentle tug on my wrist. I looked around me only to see Seth smiling at me and mouthing, “come with me.” Lacing my fingers along with his, I looked back quickly before scampering off to where Seth wanted to take me.
Once we were far enough away, I started laughing as I picked up my maxi dress so it wouldn’t get caught in the forest’s underbrush. “Seth, where are we going? I can’t see!” Seth’s eyes glowed their amber color to help him see in the forest and kept tugging me along.
We reached a small clearing, and Seth took off his shirt. “What are you doing?” I whispered loudly. Seth just smiled at me and continued to strip until he was in his birthday suit. Covering my eyes with my hands and turning a bright shade of red, I heard bones popping and cracking, only to find Seth had shifted in his giant wolf. “Aww, did Caspian want to come out to play?” the wolf huffed and gave me a quick lick on the face.
I grabbed Seth’s clothes and stuffed them in a bag that was sitting next to them. Seth lowered himself to the forest floor and nodded his head to his back, beckoning me to climb on. “We are going for a ride?” With a quick nod of confirmation, I climbed up onto his back and grabbed onto his pelt. Seth stood up, and we were high off the ground.
I never realized how tall Seth was in wolf form. I had only seen it a few times, and it wasn’t for very long. Being on top of this large animal, I could feel the muscles every time he took a mighty step. After a few minutes of gentle walking and cantering, he went faster until he was on a full-on run. He dodged limbs, rocks, and streams as well as jumped over several sleeping deer and fawns that never heard the gentle padding of his feet.
His animal was beautiful, stealthy, dangerous. No wonder everyone was afraid of him. He was the ultimate battle machine and someone I could be mated with. How lucky was I? I’m sure there were many others that would have suited him better, but somehow I was matched with him.
After 30 minutes of riding the graceful beast, we came to a large clearing. The moon was almost high in the sky as the stars winked at us from above. Seth lowered himself so I could dismount. Making sure I felt every bit of his fur on the way down. It was soft, inviting, and if I could sleep on it, I would.
Seth quickly changed and picked me up bridal style and kissed me on my lips passionately. His lips were warm and even soft. He parted my lips and rub his tongue over mine, earning a soft m**n of mine. Breaking this k**s, he put his forehead against me and walked me across the clearing. On the other side was something I would never have dreamed of seeing coming from the great and mighty Alpha Warrior.
