Her Forever -
Chapter 45
Sadie
There was an enormous amount of screams coming from the primary entryway of the pack house. I rushed to Seth’s side to see a smirk of amusement plastered on his face. His arms were folded as he looked at Rebecca and Dover, making out in front of everyone. “Is that normal to find your mate like this… just start making out and kissing and stuff?” I whispered.
“Yeah, it is.” Seth laughed.
“Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t give you that.” I looked down with my hand wrapped around his arm.
“Love, look here,” he lifted my chin up to look at him. “I wouldn’t change how we met for anything. It only made me love you more. We have a special story to tell our pups and the pack when we get back home.” Giving him a small peck and whispering a thank you, we watched as Rebecca and Dover make out, and Lela and Andrew adoringly stared into each other’s eyes.
The Pineville Creek Pack was turning into a mating freak show, people hooting and hollering and started bringing out the alcohol. Rebecca finally took her lips from Dover and dragged him over to me. “Sadie! This is Dover! My Mate!” she squealed as she flung her arms around him. Dover was equally excited and started kissing and lightly biting her neck.
Oh gosh, is he gonna eat her??
“We’ve met, before you guys,” I started waving my finger at the both of them as I continued to blush furiously.
“Aw, she’s a shy one.” Dover laughs.
“She is, even after mating!” Rebecca turns around and gives me a hug. “Without you, I would have never met Dover. I would have never found him.”
“Yeah, thanks for springing us vamps out,” Bastian walked up, with his hand in his pockets.
“I’m just sorry you haven’t met your mate yet. Maybe she is still around here or coming. There is a big party in a few days, you know,” I winked. Bastian gave me a toothy smile. “I’m counting on it,” and walked away to the kitchen. Seth came up behind me and put his head on my shoulder while hugging me from behind.
“Things are turning out nice,” I said to Seth.
“Almost too nice,” Seth said in a strained tone. “We still need to be careful. Drago is still out there with his men. He doesn’t have the element of surprise because Diana isn’t with him anymore, but we should still be cautious. I just don’t want you to ever be alone.” He’s so cute when he worries.
“We are fine. Go have some fun. Ethan keeps eyeing you with a beer in his hand.” I motioned over to Ethan.
“Just a little won’t hurt, I guess.” Seth grabbed my hand and led me over to the drinks.
I could not lie how impressed I was at the amount of drinking these werewolves could do. One drink turned to two and two into almost twenty-two for Seth. He was holding it pretty well, with no signs of stopping. I decided right there I would have nothing. He’s going to need some taking care of later, and I don’t mean a fun time of caring.
Someone had set up a ping-pong table and started playing a game of beer pong. Several warriors tried to get me to play, but Seth wouldn’t let me go near them. While they whined, Seth let out a loud growl, which shut them up.
Some women were sitting and chatting, taking sips of wine while the children played on the floor or ran around outside. Everyone was relaxed and sated and happy for the moment. I felt a wave of ease go through me as I saw Seth laughing. He only laughs when we are together and is very stand-offish with others. Now his bright personality was showing through, and I knew it was the alcohol.
Seth let go of my hand to them to tell a story about wrestling a bear when he was eight. I feel he will tell that story repeatedly during our lives, so I trailed off to see what Max was doing.
Max was standing at the door, his arms crossed, beside a fellow warrior who was on duty. “Max, what are you doing, honey?” his face remained stoic as he continued to look straight ahead.
“I’m on guard duty, Luna.” His face went back to that of a grumpy one, and I laughed out loud. “Max, you should go and have fun. The games that you and the other kids play are perfect for training. Did you know that?”
“What do ya mean?” Max’s hair brushed his eyes as he looked into mine. “It’s true when you play tag, you are using your speed, hide and seek, you are tracking, and when you wrestle, you are working on your combat skills.” I nodded to the door.
“You should have fun while training. Besides, I want you to party. It’s a special day, huh?” Maxed nodded his head in agreement. He walked out the door but turned around suddenly. He ran back into my arms, and I landed on my butt with an ‘oomph.’ “What was that for?” I giggled.
“I’m sorry you got captured,” Max sniffed into my chest.
“Oh honey, no. They would have found me, with or without you. I was more worried you would get hurt. I’m so happy you are OK. Never blame yourself.” I petted his head as he let out a sniffle. “Now go play, or I’ll have you take Alpha Seth’s beer away.” Max looked over at Seth, who was on, who knows how many, while he crushed it with his forehead.
Max ran out of my arms and out the door before I could even see him again.
The celebrating lasted into the night. Lela and Rebecca skipped off to go make everything official with their mates. Growing up human and watching everything unfold in front of me the past two months had been insane. I should have felt freaked out or at least concerned, but I wasn’t. It felt right, and it felt like home. Not once was I afraid of any werewolves. Vampires still made me uneasy because of that one i***t, but other than that, this world was amazing.
“And then the bear…” Seth slurred his words as he was telling another group about his bear hunting story. I pulled on his arm, to which he almost fell over. “Honey, I think it is time for bed,” I cooed, leading him away from the group. They all whispered a thank you as they scattered.
“I have to finish, finish my story, baby!” His voice went up an octave higher as I started laughing with him.
“Can I hear your story again, big bad alpha?” I continued to lead him up the stairs, but he only pulled on my arm. Seth wiggled his eyebrows and flicked his tongue out over his lips.
“We can make our own story, baby.” Seth was trying to be sexy, but it was really not working. He had a goofy grin on his face, and he could hardly stand up, let alone do anything to make it worthwhile.
“Alright, Alpha, come up the stairs, and we will talk.” Seth stuck his arm up to fist pump the air and screamed, “Oh f**k Yesss!!!! I’m going to get some!” The crowd turned around and watched Seth slap my butt while I turned red six ways to Sunday.
“You so owe me,” I whispered as I continued to walk him up the stairs. He talked dirty all the way up to the top of all the things he wanted to do to me. Seth wants to do it outside, in the garage, in the car, and eventually, in a treehouse, he has set up in Bergarian. Right now, he wanted to do it on the couch so he would have some cushion on his back because he couldn’t sit up straight.
I swore I could hear yapping in my head from my wolf. I wondered if she had some humor in her.
Seth and I had finally made it to our room. I still had not seen the pack doctor because he started celebrating early once he found out that Seth and I mated. Werewolves really knew how to party, and they need little reason to break open the alcohol.
Guiding Seth to the bed, he swayed as I tried to lead him. Tried was the exact word I would use because he fell a few times on the floor and started laughing. “Damn, this floor has so many hills in it!” Maybe he wasn’t tipsy, just straight-up drunk. Laughing at him, pulling him to the bed, he started laughing like a hyena. “Baby, come ‘ere! Come, love me!” I took off his shoes and mine and crawled up into the bed with him. Setting a few pillows behind his neck, he laid back and pulled me up to him since I was taking too long.
“You are so beautiful; I have a beautiful mate.” His words slurred. Even when he was a mess, he was so damn sexy. “Mate, mate, mate, mine, mine, mine,” he continued to chant as he pulled me on top of him. Quickly rolling me over, he buried his nose into my neck and hair and took long sniffs, which made me laugh way too much.
“You are mine, mine, mine,” he smiled and kept kissing my weak spot. “Seth, you are drunk; let me help you.” I quickly got up to take off his shirt, and that was a challenge. He tried to help but ended up with his head in his armhole. His pants he was pulling them up instead of down. I finally slapped his hands away, causing him to whine like a baby, and ripped them off.
Trying the ultimate step of putting on his joggers, he yelled. “Nooo, I’m all hot. I just want youuuuu,” he whined. The big alpha was a big whiny baby, and I couldn’t figure out if it was annoying or adorable.
Seth held me down on my back while he was on his side and massaged my chest. “These are mine too,” he kissed each one on the outside of my clothes. I started laughing because he had never been this silly.
“Baby, Sadie, Love,” he said in a sing-song voice as he gripped me by my waist tighter. “You are my everything, baby. My Everything. I’d die without you. Never leave me.” His nose nuzzled into my ear. “You are so beautiful, my mate.”
“I love you, Seth.” Leaning closer, I kissed Seth on the lips, both of us making it more heated by the moment. His tongue licked my l*p to ask for permission to enter my mouth, and I let him. Even when drunk, his k****s were passionate. I could taste a bit of champagne on his lips as he continued to explore my mouth.
“Seth, let me go get ready for bed, OK?” Giving him a quick peck on the lips, I rushed to the bathroom and put on one of his oversized shirts that came down to my knees. When walking back, Seth already looked asleep as I pulled the covers back to snuggle up against him. He was so peaceful while he slept. Light little snores escaped him, and I gave him one quick peck and turned off the light.

I woke up with a chilly breeze blowing into our bedroom. Seth was still passed out on the bed, and even with his warmth, I was still freezing. I wiggled out of his arms and pulled my legs around the bed to hop off to find another blanket, only seeing the chilly breeze was coming from the opened balcony window.
Finding it strange, I started tapping Seth on the shoulder to wake him up, but his snores continued to fill the room. “Seth! Seth, wake up.” I kept poking him, but he still wouldn’t wake up. Getting off the bed, I closed decided to close it myself since Seth was nowhere near waking. The curtain was blowing in the wind, and as I approached, there was a figure standing there when the curtain flew by again.
I let out a significant squeal, and a hand flew up to my mouth to contain my scream. My eyes grew wide, and panic started to set in, and that is when I heard it.
“Hello, Dove.”
Seth
I woke up the following day with the most excruciating headache. The chatter outside the window sounded like cymbals in my head. I must have had too much, because I wasn’t healing up as fast as I should, even with my wolf. Groaning, I rolled over to feel for my mate, but the bed was cold. The wind was blowing the curtains toward the bed, so I got up to close them with all the strength I had. We never go out on the balcony. I don’t understand why they were open.
“Love?” I gruffed out in a raspy voice. Heading over to the bathroom, she wasn’t there. “Love?” Sniffing the room, I realized she wasn’t there at all; in fact, her smell was long gone from the room. Before I had a chance to mind-link Marco, my team came crashing into the room.
“Alpha,” my Beta, Gamma, and Delta said in unison. “What?” I grunted as I rubbed my head.
“Someone drugged the booze yesterday, everyone has been out of it all night, and it’s nearly noon now,” Nathan said quickly as he scanned the room. Nathan ran to the bedroom and then back again to the bathroom.
“The f**k you doing, Nathan?” I yelled.
“Where is Sadie? I can’t smell her anywhere; she isn’t in the pack house,” he yelled, throwing his hands up.
Then it clicked. Everyone was so happy celebrating an Alpha mating with his Luna. Two more pack members found their mates that someone must have tainted the alcohol. It was the perfect way to have everyone not pay attention. The warriors and guards were not supposed to be drinking? Were they?
“Were the warriors drinking?” I yelled? “They were the only ones not to be drinking!” The pack house shook as everyone in the room stilled.
“No, no, they weren’t. They were found at their posts sleeping. They had their canteens, but that’s it. Someone must have poisoned the alcohol and their water. It must be tasteless,” Ethan spoke.
“f**k! Get me a witch! Get Diana and some witches from Bergarian. Someone that specializes in potions and poisons. Get anyone you can to go out and scout the area for anything. Get the trackers moving NOW!” I roared.” I did not need the link for that command because I knew everyone in a mile radius heard it.
My Sadie was deep trouble. My mark on her lets me know she is OK, and I can sense her when I get closer, but I have nothing to go on. I’m sure it is Drago; it had to be him; he is her only enemy that we know of. When I get my hands on the a*****e, I will rip him to shreds. I will personally have Caspian eat his f*****g heart for touching what’s mine.
Growling in frustration, I turned to the dresser where Sadie keeps her brush; beside it was the note she retrieved from the security box. Sadie mentioned time and time again how she didn’t care about her past anymore. That she was happy with me, and she wanted to move forward. In all honesty, she didn’t know what was in the letter. It could be a deed to another property, another will from her aunt, a farewell letter. Hell, it could tell us who her parents are.
Being the selfish, impatient bastard I was, I opened the letter, and the first few words stopped me cold in my tracks.
Holy shit.
