Her Forever -
Chapter 56
Sadie
The wind danced around, and the wisps played around us. We were at the back door of the pack house. The home was quiet while we waited for our cue to walk through the make-shift garden that the elves and gnomes helped create with their abilities of magic and manipulations of nature.
All was quiet except for the soft music playing just on the other side of the dark mahogany door. The music sounded magical; I guess it should because it was being played by the faes, just on the other side of the double doors. My anxiousness wasn’t helping me be calm as I tapped my barefoot on the carpeted floor.
“Are you nervous, Sabrina?” My mother said tenderly as she rubbed my hand with both of hers, cupping it gently.
“A little. I still know nothing about this world I’m jumping into. I know it is right that I am mated and a werewolf now, but I’m scared to fail everyone, especially Seth.” My eyes traveled down to the floor, almost ashamed of myself. I should have taken the time to read at least some history of Bergarian, know some races, the magic, the people. It was like I had already failed. I was jumping into a deep, dark pool with no light in the water. I was about to drown in all the information I was being given.
“Honey,” my father said in his deep baritone voice. “Everyone understands you didn’t know about us, your proper home, the life you are going to lead. There will be some that question it, but know that we, your family, are here to help you. We are never leaving your side, and neither is Seth.” My father smiled at me with his glint of mischief. “Besides, if someone doesn’t like you, then Seth or I will take care of them.” He growled and laughed. I started giggling when the wisps started humming in laughter.
One wisp went up to father and started tugging on his hair and he swatted it away like it was a bee. “Damn wisps. I don’t know why they like you so damn much. They are nothing but a nuisance to everyone else,” he mumbled while my mother chuckled to my left.
One guard that stood with us in the hallway nodded and walked up to the doors. “It’s time, Luna.” Both my parents waved their hands for him to open the doors. What I saw next made my heart stop in my chest.
The sun was just on the horizon, the surrounding air had a slight chill from the fall night that was approaching. Both my parents pulled me close to them as I held onto both of them for fear of falling. The entire world around us had a glint of gold, like a picture that was filtered in sepia. The fall leaves were falling, but ever so slowly. It wasn’t slow because of me, but because the elves were having them fall slowly with their crazy magic. The maple tree’s helicopter seeds were also descending while small amounts of glitter blew with the wind around the throngs of people. Which I found out was a wind spirit from my mother.
The one aisle I was to walk down had white cloth covered in red and pink rose petals that smelled of roses and lavender. Each step let out a fragrance that tickled my nose that let me smile in appreciation.
Trees that were close to the pack house had long, ivory tulle that fell from the large branches and touched the grass. The wind tenderly blew on the tulle and the hint of small autumn sprites behind them made the tulle glow and sway along with the music. The music continued to play with instruments I had never seen. Flute-like tubes were playing and stringed instruments were plucked as I continued down closer to the music.
Everyone was dressed in light fall colors of beige, gold, ivory, maroon, browns, and reds. The guests dressed the part and even the warriors stood tall all around us to make sure no uninvited guests would enter. Their hands were in front of them, in an Adams pose while their legs were spread apart in an ‘at ease’ position. I smiled at a few that had always been close to my heart when finding me every time I was kidnapped.
Max was at the front of the altar, in his make-shift dress warrior attire. It was a white suit with a large red sash that went around his torso and tied at the side. I was told that when a warrior pledges his life to his Luna they are given a special uniform on certain occasions such as these. Even though he wasn’t old enough, I still made sure he was granted one. Max stood proud while the small girls his age looked at him in admiration. I couldn’t believe just a month ago his peers would tease and bully him. Now he was strong and almost at the top of his warrior class.
Halfway to my destination, I look up and see Bastian in a tree not too far away. Far enough to keep Seth’s wolf at bay. My mother told me in private just that morning of the altercation and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the lonely vampire. Bastian gave me a quick wink with a small smile and I looked to the person who would only matter the most to me.
Seth stood tall, in all his glory, in a beige suit and a golden tie. His tattoos crept up his neck and made him more dangerous. If he had been a CEO in the human world he would have had any and every woman after him, but knowing that I was the only one for him only made my heart flutter. His dark hair was slicked to the side, just enough gel so I could still run my fingers through it. He knew how much I loved to tug on it. Just thinking about tonight still has me giddy.
My smile grew as my eyes locked on his. The grip on my parents grew tighter as we came closer. Seth’s eyes were watering at the edges of his eyes and he did nothing to conceal it. He loved me just as much as I loved him, and I was ready for the world to see that we were mated and would be forever.
“Beautiful,” he whispered.
Once standing on the step below Seth, my parents turned me so they both could give me a k**s on the cheek. “We love you,” they both said at the same time. They stood back, and both grabbed my hand and the sorcerer before us spoke. “Are you the parents of Sabrina, Princess of the Moon Kingdom of Bergarian, future queen and heir?” I wanted to say, “Duh, see the dang crown on their heads?” but I stayed quiet and smiled to myself.
“We are.” They both spoke in unison. “We are here to present our daughter to become eternal mates with Seth of the Warrior Pack, one who claims to be her mate,” my father said with pride.
“Very well,” the sorcerer said. “Alpha Seth, are their claims said to be true?” Seth’s grin grew even wider, if possible, and held out his hand to me. I took his hand, feeling the warmth and tingles spread throughout my body.
“Tis true, she is my mate, my life, my love to whom I want to serve, protect and follow.” Seth’s words melted my heart as he pulled me close while my parents released me. Their presence soon left me as I felt Seth grab me around my waist and pulled me close, so we stood right in front of the sorcerer officiator.
“This day, we bring both Sabrina, Princess and soon to be Queen of the Moon Kingdom and soon to be Alpha of the Warrior Pack and celebrate their mating.” The sorcerer turned around and brought a chalice up so all that may see. It was gold and had large rubies around the cup and inside was empty. After a few minutes of everyone seeing the cup was empty, he turned and poured a small amount of red wine inside.
Afterward, a ceremonial dagger with a plain, golden handle was given to Seth. Mother told me that Seth would have to cut my palm, but other than that, I had no clue what was going to happen. Everything had been a whirlwind since I got here, so why not have a bit more suspense and excitement?
Seth placed the dagger in the palm of my hand and mouthed, “I’m sorry, love,” before he sliced it quickly. Taking my hand, he helped me squeeze several drops into the chalice. Seth handed me the dagger and motioned for me to cut him as well. Once he was bleeding, I had him drop a few droplets in the cup. My heart was racing as his b***d dripped into the chalice. Part of me was humming in excitement and wonder.
“Both have given b***d unto each other. They will now partake of the wine to intertwine their destinies and commitment to one another. This symbolizes now not only their souls have met together to become mates but also in body.” He winked at me and I blushed red, knowing we had already done that part. Seth gave a little growl in a warning and the sorcerer cleared his throat and handed the chalice back to Seth to drink. I started giggling and held my hand up to my mouth.
There was a collective aww and coos how jealous Seth was at just a little wink. Seth rolled his eyes. Max came up to the officiant and gave him a mean scowl as he growled too. My heart just might have grown 10 times the size seeing how sweet Max was being. I turned around and gave him a quick peck on top of his head and I swear I almost heard him purr. The audience continued their brief whispers of “aww,” and “so cute and precious!” As I smiled at him, a deep shade of red encompassed him down on his neck.
Seth pouted and whispered, “where’s my k**s? He got one.” I gave him a quick peck on the cheek and squeezed his hand. “Better?” I whispered. “Better,” he nodded.
After a few moments of quiet silence, Seth cleared his throat and drank two small sips from the cup, and I did the same. Once we were done, the officiate droned on the importance of mates and how werewolves were the first to claim mates. It was a re-telling of the story I heard at the bonfire not too long ago.
Seth and I drowned out the crowd, the music, the officiant, everything. We stared into each other’s eyes like we were the only ones in the small gazebo as the small pieces of glitter were tenderly drifting into our hair from the wind and the wisps carrying it around the area.
“You know,” I mind-linked Seth. “I never in a million lifetimes would I have thought this would be part of my happily ever after. I’m so glad it’s you, I’m so glad we found each other.”
“Baby, I’ve looked for you for at least 2 human lifetimes. I would do it a million more just to have you. I love you and I’m excited for the rest of eternity with you. I may be a possessive bastard and want you all to myself, but I promise you I will protect you and love you and never let you go”
“I’ll do anything and everything to make you happy because you already did the same for me. I love you too, my overgrown puppy,” I smiled.
I squeezed his hand, and we both heard a throat clearing. Both of us looked at the officiant, not sure what to do, and he bent down and nudged Seth, who then understood what he was getting at. Before I could question anything, Seth pulled me by the waist and dipped me backward while giving me a smoldering, toe-curling, electrifying k**s.
There were howls of excitement and victory. The wind picked up along with the glitter, leaves, and helicopter seeds and moved upwards as Seth continued to assault my mouth. My dress swirled around me and the wisps simultaneously pulled every pin out of my hair, causing my hair to drop down in a big waterfall of curls.
Seth nipped, sucked, and explored my mouth like we were the only ones there while hearing the roars of the crowd and the music of the faes picked up. The elves in the background banging on ceremonial drums while Alpha Adrien had people bring out the alcohol.
Seth finally sat me up and gave me one more peck on the lips. “Now, the party really begins,” he said into my mouth while I gripped his hair and pulled him into one more passionate k**s.
