Her Forever
Chapter 58

Seth

“Our mate is so beautiful. We are so lucky,” Caspian spoke to me while the warriors were gathered around us. “We aren’t worthy.” I hummed in agreement with Caspian. Having just walked back down the aisle and waiting for the yard to be set up, we were quickly separated by our parents to meet certain members of our society.

Caspian and I had done terrible things in our past, things that we pray to the goddess that Sadie would never know. We were wild, free, and ferocious. It was what got us here today, saving our pack under my father’s command. I would just take it too far. Torturing our victims and making an example out of them. I regret playing with my enemies. The thing I did to the opposing soldiers should not have been fierce and torturing. I should have just done it to their commanding officers who forced them to fight.

There have always been many rogues, those that wish to destroy packs within the Moon Kingdom. Our job was to protect and keep them at bay with the least amount of casualties. The hope was to have them be indoctrinated with the new ways we run things, the possibility to join a pack and give second chances. However, I always denied that order. I tore them to pieces, thinking they didn’t deserve that second chance.

Packs weren’t as kind as they were hundreds of years ago. Omegas were treated harshly, slaves were used and the higher you were in ranks, the better off you were. The lower, well, you can imagine the torture people went through. Once the King and Queen came to power 1000 years ago, things had been peaceful among the packs, teaching kindness, unity, and family. This was why they had waited so long to have a child so that she could grow up in a world that was safe. All that was taken away in just a blink of an eye.

The rogues are the ones that still live in the stone age of how packs should be run. To be harsh, cruel and promise protection of others that posed a greater threat. Many rebelled, and they were cursed to be rogues. No longer having the protection of a unit, they would be alone for the rest of their lives, unable to mind-link others.

I didn’t think they deserved a second chance in my short time of living. They made their choice, and they have had many opportunities to come in willingly. Now that Sadie is with me, I can see the mercy in her eyes on how she wants to give second chances. Just like Nathan, Diana, and Bastian. “Everyone deserves a second chance.” She told me last night as we bathed naked in the moonlight. “Everyone does. We do not know the reasons for their decisions, it is usually miscommunication and the ability to share those feelings. Except for Drago, I gave him a bazillion chances.” I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at that.

Sadie is talking to Rebecca and Dover, her new mate. My parents were ecstatic she found her mate so early. Having one of your children waiting for so long only dampened their mood for the next child. Would Rebecca have to suffer as I did? No, she was lucky at only 21 years old. I smile as Sadie laughs at Dover’s ridiculous joke. Her laugh is music to my ears and I’m lucky to have her with me now. She was worth the long wait.

“Future Alpha Seth,” I hear my name being called musically. It could only be one person with a voice similar to Sadie’s, and that is her mother.

“Your majesty,” I bowed, still in my mating attire.

“Really, Seth? Estar is just fine,” she waved without care. “I need to speak with you privately about my daughter.” I lifted my eyebrow in question and held out my arm so she could lead me to where she wanted to go. I looked back and saw Sadie looking at the various foods that had been presented. Most foods that she had never seen in her time as a human. She will be pleasantly surprised by how many sweets I had them make. Such a curious little fox I have.

Queen Estar led me to the second-floor office that belongs to Alpha Adrien and hastily shut the door. “I don’t want to take much time, but I have much to say.” I pulled the desk chair out for her to sit in, and she nodded in appreciation as I sat down in front of her.

Estar sighed, “I am not sure if you are aware, but I have the gift of foresight.” I looked at her in wonder. It is said the older you are, there are certain gifts that may be granted or unlocked from within. It is rare, but a gift from the gods.

“There are many limitations to my power. I don’t get to call upon it, it just comes to me like a dream. I could be sitting reading a book and my vision changes and I watch what will happen before me. I never know when things will happen, but I try my best to gauge it through certain hints I’m given. Such as someone growing up or being born that I have never seen.” She sighed again, upset with the stress. “Sabrina, I mean Sadie,” she smiled at the name. “Sadie’s life, as well as many other werewolves’ lives, are in danger. I saw a large uprising that will occur sometime soon. You are both without a child in the dream, so I’m guessing sooner than I want to admit.” She pursed her lips.

My fists balled up. A war was coming. There hasn’t been a war in almost 1000 years.

“Sadie’s gifts that she has received: grace, beauty, and life by the Goddess Charis also painted a target on her back. The life gift in particular. There will come a day that she will be able to unlock that gift and may be able to heal those who are wounded or…” she trailed off.

“Or what?”

“Bring back life.” We both sat in silence as we pondered this information. At some point, Sadie might be able to bring someone back. “I don’t know if it is true, but that is what our enemies are thinking. If it were so, it would be a powerful gift. With such gifts, though, it can drain you. When I receive a vision, I am often tired afterward. Imagine bringing someone back from beyond the grave? That would take so much strength.”

I rubbed my chin with my hand. This wasn’t good. Sadie could easily trade her life for someone else to come back from the dead.

“I know it is a lot, but I am asking for you to take your position as Alpha from your father.” I looked at her, confused. I was just told that I needed to find someone to lead the pack until my son or daughter could take over. Now I was actually to become Alpha? “After being passed the power of an Alpha through the ceremony, your strength will become tenfold and your bond to Sadie will keep you both protected. It will also keep her out of the palace and placed in a safer place. Enemies would look to the palace first.”

Nodding in agreement, I placed my hand on Queen Estar’s. “I will do as you command, anything to keep Sadie safe. She will be protected and cared for. This I assure you.” I smiled at her to give her some reassurance, but this new information has me seething. There was a lot in our future that was unknown. Such as, who will be the ones to attack? Are there rogues to deal with? Letting out a gruff, I led Queen Estar back to the party where I was quickly caught but several of my loyal warriors.

“Here is the man of the hour! Damn, the goddess picked the perfect mate for you! A small innocent flower with thorns to pierce the skin!” Farris spoke. Farris was one of my best defensive warriors. He has always protected the pack house with such force. His whole nature is to protect. That is why I have him always stay within our borders to protect the women and children.

“Yes, I’ve indeed been blessed,” I said, grinning.

“The hell? The most feared warrior actually smiling? What witchcraft is this?” Farris continued as he gulped down his ambrosia.

“A good one. She has me under a fiery passion of a spell. I cannot get her out of my head.” I rubbed the one place on my neck where I hadn’t tattooed. Tonight, she would place her mark there for all to see, and my member couldn’t help but twitch a little at the thought.

I scanned the room to check on my love when I stopped at the table the Faes had set up. She was talking to Annan, the worst of them. He was second under the king for the throne. He was a trickster that I have had the unpleasantries of having to fight a time or two. Not physically anyway, just over territorial disputes with their flower growing crops. When the wind blows, the pollen flowed to our own food crops and ended up changing the genetic makeup of our potatoes that made them turn black and inedible. Thankfully, we came up with a solution, even though we lost a year’s worth of potatoes for the pups who still needed the carbs to grow.

Feeling Sadie’s uneasiness, I stared at her to see what she would do. This world is new to her and I knew she was out of her comfort zone. She never liked a crowded room or confrontation, but she was holding up well. Annan was testing her ability to catch small words and double meanings in his sentences and she was doing a fine job, spectacular actually. That’s what did it though, the thoughtful hum he does to himself when he fancies a woman. Most Faes do it, it was like a wolf’s purr to calm their significant others. What. The. F**k.

Sadie turned her head and looked straight at me, begging me to save her. I took enormous steps across the room, trying not to look intimidating, this was a celebration and even though I wanted to rip his vocal cords from his throat, I would not do it. Not with my baby here. “Come, love, I want you to meet my parents.” I kissed the temple of her head.

Annan gave her a k**s on the hand, and I swiftly took her away. She rubbed her hand on her dress and I couldn’t help but chuckle. She hates the guy as much as I do, but she would never admit that out loud. She has too big of a heart.

After meeting my parents and a crowd-pleasing and mate-pleasing striptease to get the garter, I put my dress shirt back on and only buttoned it halfway. Sadie’s face was still completely red at what I did to her. The look in her eyes as I stripped my shirt right in front of her was awe-inspiring. I wanted to make her blush harder by taking her right over the dessert table while I lapped up whipped cream from her tits. She was panting like the wolf she was, and it gave me so much pride that my mate finds me irresistible. She was still a little pissed, though.

“I cannot believe you did that, Seth!” Her face is still blushing. “Like, everyone knows what you did. You made me do… do… the face!” She made her climax face at me, one that I find extremely sexy when she finally hits her high. “ I could hardly cover my face with your tie around my wrists!”

“That was the point, my love, so everyone knows you are mine and I am the only one to make you feel that way,” I growled in her ear while kissing the shell of her ear. She let out a little whimper as people came on the dancefloor to dance. Sadie smiled at me as she placed her hands on mine and led it to her waist. “Dance with me, puppy,” she whispered quietly.

Wrapping my arms around her waist and her hands gently placed on my chest because she couldn’t reach me, she looked up at me with such love. I never thought I would feel this, the patience, love, admiration from someone. Before she even knew of a bond or mates, she was already drawn to me. She wanted to know what this empty shell of a man was at that bar and to comfort him. If that isn’t the true meaning of mercy, I don’t know what is. I am at her mercy now. She has captured my heart in more ways than one.

She’s my fierce little fox, the one that I was lucky enough to catch. Actually, she let me catch her. If she wanted to run, I’m sure she would have found a way. She’s smart, cunning, and still so innocent in my eyes. Hell in everyone’s eyes. She calms my beast, keeps him at bay, and with that grace that she gives on me every day. Every male that has a dominant aura has wanted her to feel at ease and she brings that with her wherever she goes. If it isn’t her beauty, kindness, and love, then it would be the gift of life that she has been lucky to have been blessed with. No matter what man or woman wants with her, I’ll protect her with my life. I’ll be there to fight every storm and make sure she will always wake up in my arms, safe and protected. She deserves that and so much more.

My Sadie, she will always be mine, my Sadie, my mate.

“What are you thinking about, my big bad wolf?” she looked up at me with those thick lashes.

“Just how much I love you,” I whispered. Her pearly white teeth made an appearance and kissed her lips.

“And I’ll love you wildly, insanely, and indefinitely.” Before she could speak again, I lifted her up with my arm under her legs and around her back and kissed her madly and wildly as she said. Running through the crowd with hearing howls and screaming of joy in the background.
