Her Forever -
Chapter 66
The Sun Kingdom, mostly known as the Fae Kingdom, was full of light and laughter in the land. For once, the tyrant of a king stayed silent since the arrival of his best friend back home from his long journey to the Earth realm. He no longer joked and played evil tricks in court. No longer humiliating the women that he had countless conquests with.
Few people knew the reason why he was isolating himself. They took is as a wonderful break so they could spend more time on their own personal jobs and lives, instead of entertaining the king trickster.
King Orion’s right-hand man, Annan, was his best friend. Often Annan would allow King Orion to use his body and mind so he could move freely among others, with no one suspecting. It was one of the many gifts that King Orion had, to project oneself into another’s body. It could only be done with other faes and they had to either have a weak mind or be willing.
During the time Annan was in the Pineville Creek Pack, Orion took over Annan’s body and he noticed the girl that everyone was up in arms about, Sabrina or Sadie as she called herself after so many years. She was young, innocent, and mated to the scariest warrior known in this generation. King Orion was even taken aback by him, but he would never tell.
Sadie had soft features, and she was a beauty, but that wasn’t what caught King Orion’s eye. Her grace, her aura, the calmness, and there was something else. Something that many people overlook when trying to understand a person. It was her healing properties.
Annan watched Sadie as she helped a boy named Max who had obvious issues with being in public. His shyness and his ability to stand out amongst his peers frightened him. Sadie took him under her wing and, with very little pushing and coddling, now had the young boy wanting to become a warrior and take care of her. She could bring the boy into the light. Many would find this endearing and a wonderful mother-like quality, however Orion knew differently.
She had the ability to heal. She had the ability to make those who are afraid to realize their full potential. To ease the mind of its fears and to make oneself grow. Orion knew the mind was a powerful thing and healing it was difficult and something easily overlooked by others.
The ease of how she healed the Gamma Nathan and his mate Diana was another example. She didn’t do much, but her presence alone eased both of their souls to forgive one another and work on their problems.
Orion sat on his throne haphazardly, one leg thrown over the arm of the chair while leaning on the other side. Picking his nails while he thought long and hard about what to do with this girl. He had become infatuated with her. Not just her beauty, a bonus, but her mind was what he wanted to pick. The brief encounter they had at her mating ceremony had him craving for more. His mind was all but dull until she came into the picture. She stirred something in him wanting to speak to her, be near her, and his feelings were just not right.
Orion looked up at the painted tiles above him. Several faes were dancing in the sun. Women in their loose gowns and their pointed ears, dresses falling off their shoulders while the men chased them, laughing. “Mates,” he sighed, frustratedly.
Faes had mates too, and to find them seemed to be hard. Faes didn’t just fall in love or match with the same species. Faes were often found in other cultures of the supernaturals. Faes could easily find their mates that lived next door or they could be on the other end of the Bergarian. They could pass by one another and never know unless they looked each other in the eyes. There was no smell to sniff out their mates like the stupid animals do. Faes were above that. They wanted to feel the pull but could only do so until they looked their mate straight in the eye.
King Orion had enough of that. He didn’t want to search, he just wanted to sit on his throne and wait for her to come. He had so many kingly duties it should be his other half’s job to come find him. Or so he thought.
In reality, faes finding their mates was not that difficult. All it took was a look in the eyes and to have the desire to find their mate. If there was no desire, they would never truly ‘see’ their mate. King Orion had suffered the effects of not finding his mate after all these years. In all honesty, he was becoming lonely. The concubines he had never filled his hungry body. Only the body of a mate would make him fully satisfied.
Just like other species, he could have a chosen mate. It was frowned upon, but more common with his species. Faes were impatient creatures and just wanted to settle down and love someone because their s****l desires were so strong. Orion thought many times to find a chosen mate, but when he looked throughout his court, there was none that caught his eye. He wanted more than just beauty. He could find that anywhere. No, he wanted more. He wanted the peace that a mate would give him and he could not find that anywhere.
His own parents were the products of mates, and the love they shared was spectacular and special. For so long he did not desire one but until he saw Sabrina something awoken the beast within.
“Sabrina could be my mate,” he thought to himself. True, she was mated to one of the most fierce warriors, but she was of royalty. She could have multiple mates if she so wished, even though it was something not practiced for thousands of years. He waved his hand absentmindedly. Sabrina wouldn’t do that. She was too pure.
However, he still found her one of the most interesting persons has come to date. “The power of healing,” he murmured to himself. There were many things that drove his mind back to this simple power that she probably did not know about.
“Annan,” he called, still looking at the tiles above him.
“Yes, your grace?” Annan looked at his king with amusement. He knew Orion had started an infatuation with the princess of the Moon Kingdom. He also knew that it would only lead to trouble with the king of tricks.
“Have they arrived?” Orion sat up in his chair and walked to the vast balcony overlooking his kingdom, as well as the gigantic mountain in the distance that held the portal to Earth.
“They have your grace. In fact, she had arrived at the Warrior Pack House and the wolves were out celebrating her arrival back in Bergarian.” Orion nodded.
“I think I would like to visit her.” Annan looked at him questionably. Orion never left the palace, let alone his land. He didn’t want to cause a stir and didn’t want all the attention directly put to him. The fae council would talk. Few people liked King Orion outside of the kingdom and knew his presence often held an alternate meaning.
“What are you planning, Orion?” Annan spoke as his childhood friend. ‘She is mated. You cannot go out and hunt her like one of your conquests to make her your concubine. There are plenty of-” Orion cut him off with a wave of his hand.
“I do not want another concubine. I want to test a theory.” Orion flipped his long white hair over his shoulder. “Ready the carriage and send word that we will arrive tomorrow in the afternoon.”
“Yes, your grace.” Annan watched King Orion’s retreating figure toward his personal chambers.

Sadie
It had been a few days since we had arrived at the Warrior Pack. The house was beyond anything I could have imagined. It looked larger than any mansion that I had ever seen. Even fairy tales and story books on their descriptions of such grandeur would put it to shame.
Unlike the Pinecreek pack house that had more of a rustic vibe, this home was bright with white, tans and golds. Everything was immaculately clean. No wolves were allowed inside the house for fear of ruining any type of furniture or scuffing the floors. It was like a palace with many wolves having certain jobs and wearing uniforms for maids, custodians, and such. No one was forced into a job, but rather they got to choose. Of course, the strongest became warriors while others preferred a more relaxed life.
Working within the pack house was considered an honor. To work so closely with the Alpha and Luna was a privilege, and there was actually a waiting list to work there. I was constantly smiling at how glad everyone seemed. Whenever I tried to help with chores or laundry, no one would let me. However, with much persuasion, I was allowed and got to know many of the wolves there and of their families.
The massive kitchen was larger than any restaurant and was almost as large as the living room of the previous pack’s house.
I quickly familiarized myself with the kitchen, and I haven’t been able to cook in weeks and it made my fingers itch. Walking to the pantry, I quickly gathered supplies to make a few pies that some warriors had been hinting at. I started laughing when I heard one of them nudge the other while walking by. “Luna is in the kitchen. I saw her making the pie crusts!” The warrior squealed like a little girl. My heart warmed at the thought that everyone liked my cooking so much.
Seth had been thrown into pack duties while his father explained all the finer details of the job. The welfare, paperwork, announcing his right-handed men such as Marco and now Ethan.
It was heartbreaking to hear that both Nathan and Diana would leave the pack soon, once the execution was carried out on the former king, Drago. Diana had been absent quite a bit the past few days, hiding in her room, discussing through magic mirrors with her newly gained parliament. She stated her intentions of continuing the bloodline even though she was not a full vampire.
Taking a big sigh, I continued to beat the dough and place it into one of the 5 refrigerators for more prep work. I couldn’t just make one pie. I would have to make at least a dozen to satisfy some warriors in the house. Putting the last batch inside, I could hear hushed whispers behind the door of the kitchen that sounded to be Seth’s and his father.
“What do you mean King Orion is coming?” Seth said, whispering harshly. “He is one of the prime suspects and you allowed him to come?”
Seth’s father gritted his teeth. “Having him here with our own eyes on him would be better than him being in his palace, where we can’t get to him. He will be watched. Don’t worry. Sadie will not be in any danger.” Seth’s father walked away, but Seth grabbed his arm.
“That isn’t good enough. He may be the one trying to take her and use her power and you didn’t even talk to me about this? About MY MATE,” he growled. “I’ve lost her too many times already. I will take her somewhere while he is here and you investigate.” Seth walked away from his father but he stopped him.
“He is here to see her, to congratulate her on her mating to you and welcoming her into the Bergarian Royal Court. Her birthright demands it. I’ve already talked to her parents and they will arrive within the hour.”
I didn’t wait to hear more. I slipped outside through the kitchen door and walked around the house to the garden. The garden was calling my name as I entered the extensive area full of flowers, bushes and small water fountains. It was serene here and a perfect place to sit and gather my thoughts. With a loud and annoying sigh, I looked up to the sky.
I had only been here a few days, not knowing anything about this world. Seth had told me countless times he would be sure to keep me in the loop of everything that we would be together and he would tell me what I needed to know. Now, I find him speaking about me behind my back about powers that I supposedly have?
Shocked and disappointed is what I felt. With no hesitation, I accepted him and his wolf because he gave me no reason to doubt him, and now he goes and hides things from me. One, I’m in danger and was never aware. We had gotten past the whole Drago situation and now I am going to have issues being here? I also have to deal with some sort of higher power in my body that I do not know what it is? Two major things he should not have left out, no matter how well his intentions were.
I continued to fester with myself and talk to Gaia, who was unbelievably pissed as well. The anger continued to rise as we talked about good ways to get back at our mate, who probably thinks of us as weak and doesn’t want us to even try to fight back. Screw that, we are strong and defeated a vampire king.
“They just want to baby us,” Gaia scoffed. “Maybe training more will ease their mind.”
“Actually,” I squinted my eyes and covered my mouth with one finger in a thinking manner. Before I could tell Gaia my plan, she yipped with glee.
“You are so sneaky. I’m so glad to be paired with you.” Gaia did zoomies in my head.
“Yes, let’s go.” I spoke silently as we walked out of the garden sashaying my h**s in our yellow sundress to the warrior training fields.
