Her Revenge Contract -
Chapter 71
Katherine's
POV
"You are not the chairman of the board of directors!" John roared, "And you have overstepped your rights to change the contract! And most importantly, it is part of a capital project, which doesn't give you the right to do so!" I didn't say a word; I just looked at John as he kept on yelling at me.
"Don't think you can do whatever you want with Alpha Xavier's help! You will change those clauses immediately! Otherwise, I will have no other choice but to remove you from your position!"
"If you had that ability, you would have fired me a long time ago!" I said, snorted coldly, and laughed. "You don't have the power to dismiss me, John," I said, crossing my arms around my chest. "According to the shareholding equity, I am the largest shareholder of the King Group, and I have the power to do whatever is needed to have this company grow."
The only way John could get rid of me now was if he could get the whole board of directors to sell their shares to him; otherwise, he had no chance at all.
John gritted his teeth angrily, and his face turned red out of anger.
As soon as I was done speaking, Steven walked in and looked at John's red face.
"What happened to John? Why does he look so angry?" He asked, chuckling.
John gasped for air and turned to Steven.
"Sorry for making you laugh, Steven. Our representative changed the contract without informing me, but don't worry, it was only the King Group's part; Black Umbrella was done correctly. I'll get experienced people to come and correct the contract later and have it signed."
After that, John threw away the contract and got up to leave, but Steven called him back.
"John," Steven said, seriously. "Did you read the terms of the agreement?"
John nodded, and Steven continued.
"Since you have seen it, do you still want to change people?" He asked carefully, keeping eye contact.
"Of course! Is Black Umbrella Enterprises willing to take risks and sign the wrong contract?"
John didn't like the contract at all.
Steven smiled, and his face hardened.
"Well, if you are certain about changing people, you can do so," he said, and John sighed in relief. "Just to be clear, you will have to pay the liquidated damages first, and I will then make the changes immediately." "Liquidated damages?" John gasped, surprised. "What liquidated damage?"
Steven smiled and took out a document from his bag; it was the benefit-sharing agreement that had been signed by everyone a few days prior.
Steven calmly browsed through the pages, searching for the signed agreement, and when he found it, he showed John.
"It is written in this contract that King Group will compensate three times for the liquidated damages if it changes the representative at will without the consent of Black Umbrella's Group."
John grabbed the contract from Steven and pressed his finger on his own signature. He was so angry that he almost tore the document to pieces.
Steven lifted his gaze, unconcerned about John's anger.
"You are welcome to change the representative," he said and held out his hand, "but money first!"
John turned even redder out of anger, and he looked like he was about to explode.
"Where is Kate's assistant?" John called out desperately.
Sarah was sitting at her desk when she heard the call and rushed in.
"Mr. King, do you want to see me?" She asked.
"Go and get the original contract and print everything except this part," John told her as he handed her the terms that I had drawn up and pointed out the clause that made him furious, "so that Steven and Ms. Kate can sign it." Sarah took a look and hesitated.
"Why are you still standing here?" John roared. "Go quickly!"
Sarah looked at John, then at me.
The clause didn't change the percentage of King Group's profits, but I made an amendment to purge John's income from both contracts.
According to the change, John's share of the total income will be used for employee benefits.
That is to say, the original contract increased the employee welfare requirements, and that was the part John was ferocious about.
"Mr. King..." Sarah hesitated and swallowed hard before she spoke. She knew she would be in trouble after saying what she needed to say.
"No one else is qualified to make changes to the contract. Only Ms. Kate is allowed. If you insist on changing those terms and conditions, we will have to pay liquidated damages."
John's legs gave in, and he took a seat. He was unable to utter another word.
I waved my hand to Sarah to leave, and she nodded, dropped the contract on my table, and left.
The employees, who had been watching the bustle outside the door, immediately surrounded Sarah when they saw her come out.
"What's going on inside? Did Ms. King get scolded again? Did you take a picture? So that I can upload it online."
"Don't make unnecessary trouble," Sarah said, giving the man a deadly look.
"What happened, Sarah? Why are you taking her side today? Have you forgotten what she did to you?" Another employee asked.
"Don't be so ignorant," Sarah said, giving the employee a sharp stare. "I saw that Ms. Kate doubled our employee share! I am telling you now, if you cause trouble for Ms. Kate and I are unable to work on this project and earn this money, I will find you!" "Double? Sarah, are you sure?"
Sarah smiled and nodded, and the employees suddenly boiled over with excitement.
In less than half a day, the news spread all over the Group, and I became the goddess in the hearts of King Group employees.
When the employees saw me, their attitudes changed, and in the follow-up implementation of the details, those who were originally dissatisfied with me worked hard, and the Group's views of me gradually changed.
That was until Erika found out I was now loved more than her at work...
