POV

I was almost broke seeing that... Alex is Robert's enemy.

All these years, all this time, I have been living between two enemies.

But, then why did Alex let me marry him in the first place? If they were enemies... why didn't he stop me?

Maybe he was forced to.

But no.

Today, Alex broke my heart.

He not only hide this big secret but also... did everything to me.

From drugging Max into that shit to letting Ervin touch me.

The next moment, all the dead bodies were taken to someplace and only Alex's body was left on the canvas.

"Take him outside. We can't let 911 see so much blood on the floor" Robert instructed and Alex was dragged out. He looked alive, but...

"He'll be fine" he whispered to me and went out.

I followed him and soon the ambulance arrived. They took Alex and we were asked to follow them in our car as we had one on spot.

We reached the hospital and he was taken to the emergency room. They said that he needs an operation and they have a good doctor on hand.

I was standing out of the ward and was almost in tears. So much happened today. First, I came to know that Alex is the one who ordered Max to do that with me? My own brother wanted me to be molested? And then Ervin. He also works for Nicho- Alex. So, this means that he also ordered him to-

"Hailey..." I heard and I looked up to find Robert standing in front of me. "Are you okay?"

"You knew it?" I questioned as he didn't seem shocked at that time.

"Y-Yes...

"Why didn't you stop me then? Why didn't you stop me from going with him?"

He looked at me helplessly. "Because... damn, Hailey, I thought he'd never hurt you!"

I looked at him and then looked away.

He is not wrong, who might think that a brother might hurt her sister, that too in this manner? "Sorry" he whispered. "I should have"

I turned towards him and hugged him. "It hurts, Robert. He- he really?"

He got away and took my face in his hands. "Yes, I know it's hard. But... you will get over it"

My heart leaped with joy hearing his words and nodding, I went with him to the hospital.

I went to her ward and finally, I was meeting her when she was alright.

"You are alright mom!" I excitedly said.

She caressed my face. "Thanks, dear. I am"

I smiled. "Where is Alex?"

All the colors drained from my face. I can't let her know anything. Anything means anything at all. I can't tell her

about Robert, I can't tell her about Nicholson. What if she can't take it? She is a heart patient.

"Um...

"He is in London" Robert spoke. Thank god, he did.

"And you are...?" mom questioned. He looked at me while I didn't say anything. "A friend! I am a friend of hers" "Oh," she said and sighed. "I am happy. finally, I am okay!" she announced.

Robert's POV

I saw a very sweet smile on Hailey's face- the type which normally isn't there. I can't afford to lose it again.

She left the ward and came put. "I have decided"

Hailey spoke.

"What?"

"I wanna live with Alex and mom... I-I wanna start over.

Pretend like... this all never existed"

I was shocked, but I was hurt more. She is gonna pretend like we never existed? I-I know, it was fake, but didn't she develop any single feeling for me? I mean nothing?

"O-Okay," I said and she smiled at me.
