Chapter 22

Bethany

It’s been almost 4 weeks since I was kidnapped and finally, things are getting back to normal although I’m still never left alone, even at night Liam, Ashley, and Jack have taken it upon their selves to sleep on my sofa despite my protests that I’m fine now.

Calvin even offered but I want him with Brooke in the nights, three scary wolves are more than enough. It’s only 5 am but I’m too excited for today to get any more sleep. The Luna ceremony is finally happening! Brooke will officially be Luna by this evening and I can’t wait to celebrate it with her and everyone in the pack.

I’m also excited because I am officially being sworn in as a pack member today, Bella is too young yet but as soon as she’s old enough she will get sworn in as well.

“Why are you awake so early little wolf?” Liam’s voice brings me out of my thoughts. I look over to him in his sleep induced state and my legs go weak, my crush on him is getting seriously out of hand and I need to find a way to control it, not that I want to but I’m a child and as much as I hate the idea of it, I know deep down that he could find his mate any day, maybe even tonight at the Luna ceremony. s**t, I hate that thought!

“I can’t sleep, I’m too excited for tonight!” I sing out in my excited tone. He lets out a soft laugh while gracing me with his handsome smile.

“Well, you’ve got hours before you need to start getting ready, so why don’t you go get changed and we’ll get some training in before breakfast?” Don’t need to ask me twice, I bounce out of bed and straight in the closest while daydreaming about how tonight will go.

Beta Liam

Over the past 4 weeks, I’ve spent most of my nights on Bethany’s sofa making sure she’s ok. She’s a strong girl and even after being kidnapped she still didn’t suffer any nightmares and if truth be told I know she’s ok but being in her room in the nights soothes me and Jonah more than anything ever has and I know once this stops it’ll result in sleepless nights for me because my mate won’t be close by.

She’s been here almost 2 months now and when I found out she was my mate I never imagined how hard it would be, I knew it would be tough but this…. this is something else and it’s only getting harder as each day passes.

Calvin’s parents have been amazing with me throughout this and I’d be lost without them and even though my parents don’t personally understand this, they are being incredibly supportive and I don’t know what I’d do without them.

How I’m going to get through the next 3 years I’ll never understand but somehow, I have to, I’m not giving up on her that’s for sure but I need something that’ll help me through this before I finally c***k!

I love one on one training with Bethany, the girl is an insane fighter and I’m not just saying it because she’s my mate, I’m saying it because it’s the truth! She doesn’t back down from anyone in training and she goes mad if any of the guys take it easy on her, lucky for her I don’t take it easy on her.

I did at first but as soon as I saw what she could do I give it my all, I want her strong and able to protect herself when I’m not there to do it for her. Between her fighting skills and her incredible personality, she will make the perfect Beta female once she’s of age and I

can’t wait to have her by my side.

“Liam where are you?” I’m pulled out of my thoughts as Cal links me.

“I’m at the training grounds with Beth, what’s up?”

“Can you cut it short and come straight to my office, I need to talk with you ASAP and can you grab Jack on your way?”

“Sure, thing Alpha, I’m on my way”

“Less of the Alpha d**k head!” He cuts the link off and I can’t help but laugh at him.

“We need to cut this short I’m afraid my little wolf, Alpha needs me.” She happily stops and graces me with her beautiful smile, we soon leave the grounds and I walk her to her room before heading for Jack’s.

I knock on his door and wait but there’s no answer, I’m quickly growing impatient because I know whatever Cal wants is important, he would have said if it weren’t, f**k this! I try the handle and step inside the Gamma floor, the lounge and kitchen are empty, I bet the lazy fuckers are still sleeping.

I head for the bedroom but don’t bother knocking I quickly step inside and instantly wish I hadn’t. The pair of them are going at it like rabbits on the bed and I think I may be scarred for life!

“Liam, what are you doing?” Jack bellows out while Ashley bursts out laughing.

“Cal needs to see us now, I knocked but you didn’t answer. I thought you may still be sleeping so I came in and now I’m scarred for life!” I can’t hide my smirk as I finish my sentence.

“Oh, Liam jealousy doesn’t suit you!” Ashley purrs my way.

“What can I say, I don’t like to share!” I wink back at him and Jack just bellows out with laughter.

“Why the f**k am I still standing here? Get your d**k out of him and get dressed I’ll be outside and I want you there in 2 minutes!”

“We can’t all finish in just 2 minutes mind Liam!” Jack smirks.

“Oh no, he can go all night!” Follows Ashley.

“I can’t deal with you two, you’re going to be the death of me I swear!” I surrender my hands to the air and run from the bedroom, them pair are lucky I love them I swear!

5 minutes later a flustered Ashley and Jack appear from their room and we finally head for Calvin’s office. Ashley stops at Beth’s room, gives Jack a k**s, blows me a k**s, and disappears into her room. As we enter Cal’s office, I can’t hold my tongue any longer.

“So, 5 minutes is your max ey!” I wink at Jack and we both bellow out with laughter.

“You’re lucky I love you a*****e, plus I think Ashley would literally kill me if I hurt you!” He smirks and I quickly agree as we both know it’s true. Cal looks confused and amused at the same time so I quickly fill him in on everything and he’s soon laughing just as much as us.

“Right guys as much as I would like to sit here and laugh with you all day, there’s a reason why I called you in here so early.” Both Jack and I instantly stop laughing and give Cal our full attention.

“So, as you know we’ve been getting a lot of Rogue sightings over the last few weeks and it’s only increasing, we’ve got Brooke’s ceremony tonight and I won’t let anything stop it again so first off Jack, I need you to call a meeting with the warriors and make sure they are alert and, on their game tonight also up the security.”

“Of course, Cal, I’ll get right on that!” Cal nods thanking him then turns to me.

“So, Liam I had a phone call early this morning from Elder Bernard about someone requesting to join our pack.” He’s got a tense look on his face and I don’t like the feeling it leaves in my stomach while I nod for him to continue.

“It’s Jacoby.” You’ve got to be f*****g kidding me!

“You f*****g what? you can’t be serious!”

“Unfortunately, I am, Elder Bernard has asked me if we will take him in even after I explained the situation.”

“But why? He has been announced a Rogue!”

“He was but while he was living out in the forest he saved a young girl from another Rogue, it turns out the girl’s father is Alpha Turner of the red mist pack and he immediately offered Jacoby a home, unfortunately, word got to him about what Jacoby had done to Bethany and despite him telling him that Bethany has forgiven him and even saved his life, Alpha Turner decided he’s a risk and must leave but as a gesture of goodwill he’s not throwing him out to be a Rogue again but instead trying to find another pack to take him in, however, Elder Bernard is worried that the same thing will happen again so that’s why he’s asked me, us to take him in.”

“f**k!” Slips from both mine and Jack’s mouths at the same time.

“Exactly this is why I called you both in, I want your opinions on this as my Beta and Gamma but also Liam as your Beth’s mate I want to know your thoughts from that stance too!”

“What’s your thoughts on this Cal?” Jack is quick to ask.

“Honestly I am torn with my thoughts as an Alpha but also as Beth’s brother!”

“I think Beth should know about this, I think this should be her decision, or at least her opinion should be heard!” I hate saying it but it’s true.

“I think that’s a good place to start but what if she’s happy for him to come here Liam, can you handle that?” Cal looks concerned and I get it.

“If that’s what she wants then I’ll support her decision. I’m not saying I’ll like it but I’ll give him a chance and as long as he doesn’t hurt her in any way or any of the girls for that matter then we’ll be just fine!” Just as Cal’s about to speak there’s a knock on the door and in walks Ashley and Brooke.

“Hey guys, I hope we’re not disturbing you!” Brooke’s soothing voice bounces off the walls.

“Of course, not baby, how can we help you?” Cal instantly has love hearts in his eyes every time he sees her.

“We’re going to go into town with Bethany to get some new shoes for the ceremony and we have hair and nail appointments while we are there so we just thought we’d come and say goodbye before we leave, Bethany will be here soon she’s just finishing getting Bella ready!” she looks at me as she finishes her sentence with her gentle smile and I return it with one of my own.

“Here you go, have fun beautiful!” Cal stretches out passing Brooke his credit card while talking to her.

“Here gorgeous, enjoy!” Jack calls out to Ashley while he makes his way towards us, both couples enjoy a quick k**s and cuddle while my heart tugs at the thought that I can’t experience that for another 3 f*****g years! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t struggling with all this today!

“Hey Brooke, here, make sure Beth gets whatever she wants ok including her hair and nails done!” She reaches out to me so I can pass her my credit card with her loving smile.

“You are an incredible man Liam and when the time comes you will be one amazing mate, my sister is a very lucky girl even if she doesn’t know it yet!” I know she means every word and I can’t hold back my smile as I thank her, the guys are quick to agree with her and it means a lot to me. I may be struggling and may have to live through this torture until Bethany is of age but I’ll do anything I can in the meantime to make her life better or easier.

“Hi, guys, sorry I took so long, this little monkey is whiny as hell today!” Bethany bounces through the door with her bubbly personality and my heart skips a beat while Jonah starts niggling in my head, he’s struggling just as much as me and I wish I could help him but I’m just as lost with all of this as he is.

“What’s wrong with Bella?” It’s very rare she’s whiny for no reason so it puts me on alert straight away!

“I don’t know, she started getting whiny about an hour ago but I can’t see anything wrong.”

“Why don’t you leave her here with us, we can make it work between the three of us!” Jack chimes out, both Cal and I are quick to agree so Bethany brings Bella over and sits her on my lap while handing Jack her bag, after thanking us, the girls and Ashley quickly say their goodbyes before disappearing out of the office and to the cars and guards that Cal arranged for them.

“So, when do we bring the Jacoby situation up to Bethany?” Cal’s straight back to business the minute they leave.

“I don’t know but definitely after the ceremony, she’s so excited for it, I don’t want anything ruining it for her!” I’m quick to answer and thankfully they both agree straight away. We chat a little while longer before we all go our own way, Jack needs to arrange a meeting with the warriors and Cal has a class to train so I take Bella with me, I’m heading to Cal’s parent’s house, I need to talk to them, I am struggling badly today and it’s not even lunchtime!
