Bethany

Finally, everyone is ready for the ball, it’s been one crazy day and for a moment I didn’t think I’d be getting to the ball after all. I apologized to everyone for my little disappearing act and I am thankful they were very forgiven and understanding.

I didn’t mean to scare anyone, I didn’t even think about when I was taken, I just needed out of the house for a while but Brooke has already made me promise to tell someone before I wander off again.

“Are you ready Bethany?” I look up to a smiling Brooke and her beauty is just breath taking. She’s got a full-length red ball gown on with lace sleeves, her long brown hair is up in a high bun and she reminds me of a Disney princess so beautiful and elegant.

“Calvin is going to pass out when he sees you, Brooke, you look stunning!”

“Look at yourself Beth, so incredibly beautiful!” I feel a blush rise on my cheeks as I double-check my look in the mirror, I’ve gone with a dark blue halter neck floor-length dress, it has lace to the top of my chest, it’s backless and I honestly love it.

My long blonde hair has been curled with one side pinned up, my makeup minimal as usual and black heels bring me some much-wanted height, I’m only 5ft2 and I hate being a short a*s.

Ashley soon appears quickly shooing us towards the steps and I see some of the men waiting at the bottom, we make our way down and Ashley quickly makes his way to Jack’s side while Calvin comes to the bottom of the stairs ready to help Brooke down the last few.

I can see Liam standing back by the wall and the minute he catches me looking he’s instantly beaming, s**t he looks hot! His hair is up in his usual man bun while his grey suit is hugging his muscles in all the right places, he’s left the last couple of buttons on his white shirt open, and f**k me it’s hot!

This crush or whatever I have on him needs to stop or at least calm down, I know it’s just a crush but it’s getting out of hand!

I’m so lost in my thoughts and Liam’s smile that I miss judge a step and fall forward too fast to catch myself luckily someone stops me, I look up while quickly thanking whoever it is only to see his face and freeze.

“Careful there Bethany, we don’t want you hurting yourself now do we!” He lets out a little chuckle as I feel my skin crawl from his touch, I quickly stand up and pull away from his arms while trying to be discreet.

“Thank you, Jake.” I manage to spill out the words sweetly but all I want to do is run from him, he’s been getting insanely creepy over this past week, he always seems to be around and uses any excuse to touch me and I’m praying with everything I have that he’s not my mate.

“No need to thank me, Bethany, I’m glad I could help. Would you care to escort me to the ball?” Hmm nope, not even a little bit! I look around and my eyes quickly find Liam and thankfully has already heading my way.

“Sorry Jake but this lovely lady has already agreed to allow me to escort her to the ball.” He puts out his arm to me and I gladly link my arm with his, smile and nod to Jake and follow Liam as he escorts me out of the packhouse and around the back where the ball is already in full swing.

“Oh, my goddess, thank you, Liam! Why is he always around?”

“There’s no way he was escorting you my little wolf don’t worry and I don’t know what’s going on with him but I have noticed he’s constantly around, but don’t you worry you just enjoy tonight, your safe and that’s all that matters!”

I quickly agree as we make it to our table and get ready for the announcements to start, Brooke looks so excited and it’s infectious. I’m seated in between Ashley and Brooke and Liam is between Jack and Sarah and he doesn’t look happy about it. We sit around talking for a little while before Calvin stands up to start his speech and as usual, he’s amazing.

“Welcome everyone, first of all, I want to thank you all for taking the time to come here tonight to witness my beautiful mate Brooke officially announced as your Luna!” The place quickly fills with cheers, whistles, and howls and I’m beaming with pride for my sister.

Before we proceed with the Luna ceremony, I would like to take a moment to officially welcome the newest member of our pack, Bethany would you please come and join me?” Me, huh oh crap I didn’t realize I had to go on the stage, s**t! s**t! s**t!

I swallow my nerves as Brooke gives me a reassuring smile and I move slowly towards Calvin’s outstretched hand. He gives me his warm brotherly smile and my nerves slowly settle down.

“As you all know Brooke’s sister Bethany came to live with us a little while back and as an only child, I am more than happy to finally have a baby sister.” He’s beaming and I’m so happy at him calling me his sister because since the day I arrived he’s felt like a brother to me.

“Bethany, from this day forward do you promise to always put your pack and Alpha first above your own needs?”

“I do!” I beam out.

“Bethany, you are officially a member of the claw moon pack and from this moment forward you are connected with everyone and can now use your mind link!” Oh, I forgot about that yes! I thank him and everyone else while they bellow out cheers and howls for me before I return to my seat, Calvin quickly turns back to the crowd before carrying on.

“This has been a long-awaited ceremony and I couldn’t be any more proud of my mate so without further ado, Brooke would you please join me my love?” He lovingly looks to Brooke with his hand outstretched and she quickly takes it and makes her way to his side where she belongs, they face each other and you can see the love they hold for each other so deeply.

“Brooke Marie Johnson, do you accept the title of Luna to the claw moon pack?”

“I do.” she beams out.

“From this day forward do you promise to always put the needs of your pack first as Luna?”

“I do.”

“I officially announce you the Luna of the claw moon pack! Will everyone please join me in toasting my mate and your Luna? Everyone Luna Brooke!” He bellows out and the whole place erupts into deafening howls and cheers.

“Everyone please enjoy good food, good drinks, and even better company!” Calvin and Brooke come back over to the table and we’re all quick to our feet to congratulate them, our previous Alpha makes a quick toast just for our table and I follow straight after, I didn’t plan it but I want to do it for her.

“Brooke, our dad should be the one making this toast for you but as he’s not here I’m going to try my hand at it. Brooke, I’m so incredibly proud of you, your one incredible woman, your kind, beautiful, smart and Calvin is one lucky guy!” Everyone lets out a laugh including Calvin while he’s quick to agree with me.

“Our parents would be so proud of you Brooke, so would Josh and Harley for how you’ve taken Bella in and how you’ve given both of us a home, I know you will be one incredible Luna and I can’t want to see what the future holds for both you and Calvin, to Luna Brooke!” We cheer and toast to her just in time for the food coming out of the kitchen and I suddenly realize how hungry I actually am.

“Welcome to the pack my little wolf!” Huh, what the? I look up knowing they are Liam’s words and he’s smiling my way but not saying anything.

“It’s weird, isn’t it?” Dam right it is! You see wolves can’t use mind-link until they are 15 years old so this is all completely new to me, I remember how Brooke told me what to do and start putting all my concentration on the link

“It really is, it’s pretty cool though!” Yes, I’ve done it! I’m holding a proud smile and I see Liam return one of his own.

“It is and now you can phone me and link me whenever you need me!” We keep chatting for a few minutes before the food is served and everyone’s attention is put on the delicious food placed in front of us and boy do I eat a lot.
