Alpha Calvin

I’m laying in bed with my beautiful mate on one arm and little Bella on my other arm, they’re both fast asleep while I watch a movie on Netflix. Brooke wanted Beth to have some time to herself tonight while she takes everything in so we brought Bella in with us,

we always cuddle up in bed until she’s sleeping then put her in her cot.

Laying here with these two beautiful girls in my arms always makes me think about when we’ll have pups, of course, nothing will take away Bella’s place in our hearts, I love her like she’s my own, God I feel like she is mine and she will always be treated the same as any pups we have and honestly, I think she’ll always have a special place in my heart because of how she came here and how she’s turned me into a dad before I’ve even had any pups.

*Knock knock*

Who’s that at this time? I get up as quick as I can without disturbing the girls before there’s another knock and quickly open the door to find Bethany standing there and she looks seriously pissed off.

“Beth, what’s wrong?”

“I need to talk to you and it can’t wait until the morning!” Her words are firm and make me instantly nervous and I just hope she hasn’t found out about Liam and her being mates.

“Ok let me put Bella in her crib and I’ll meet you in the lounge, Brooke’s sleeping do I need to wake her?” She shakes her head no before turning away towards the lounge without another word, s**t this isn’t good!

Once I’ve got Bella tucked in, I pull the covers over Brooke and head for the lounge dreading what Bethany’s going to say, today’s already been a s**t fest I don’t need anything else added to it.

When I arrive in the lounge Bethany is sitting in the chair staring down at her hands while she interlocks her fingers and I know it’s not a good sign, I take a seat in the chair across from her and give her a minute to compose herself.

“Bethany, what’s wrong sweetheart?” She doesn’t say a word, just keeps looking at her hands.

“Bethany, you know you can talk to me about anything!” Finally, she looks up with a mixture of sadness fear, and anger spread across her face and it pulls at my heart.

“I couldn’t settle so I went for a walk, I ended up by the pack hospital and decided to go and speak to doc about Bella, I’ve been wondering why she got sick” holy f**k…Jacoby! I try to keep my face natural but I think it’s too late, she’s staring at me and suddenly gets a strange look on her face.

“You know!” f**k what do I do? I decide to be honest, lying isn’t going to help me here and she deserves the truth.

“Yes, but I swear this is the first night he’s been here.”

“I want to know everything; I think I deserve to know why my kidnapper is sleeping minutes away from my home and I didn’t have a clue!” She’s right obviously so I keep with the honest route and tell her everything me and Jack know so far including the phone call

I had with the Elders about him joining our pack.

I assure her she would have found out and that I was just waiting until I find out some more myself first before bringing her into this, she seems to calm down a lot once I tell her, her anger and fear quickly disappear and she actually thanks me.

“Now that you know I won’t hide anything about him from you ok Beth? Do you want to be there with me when he wakes up?”

“Yes, I do, thank you, Calvin, I’m sorry for how I acted, it was rude and disrespectful and I shouldn’t have behaved that way.” Poor girl, I’m surprised she was as calm as she was, to be honest. I make sure she knows everything is ok and we talk for a little while before we both say goodnight and she heads for her room.

I feel myself being pulled from my sleep, groggy and dazed when I feel someone trying to link me, I check the time 10.35 pm and start to worry, someone mind linking me this late can’t be good so I concentrate on the link and finally, it becomes clear.

“Ashley, it’s Bethany, are you awake?” Oh god, I hope nothing is wrong.

“Bethany, is everything ok baby girl?”

“Yes… hmm… I was wondering if you wanted a sleepover tonight? If not, I understand it is late, I properly shouldn’t have asked, ignore me, I’m sorry!” Now I know somethings wrong, we’ve had sleepovers before, a few when she was first settling into this place and after the kidnap but other than that I’ve noticed she’ll ask for them when she’s upset or had a s**t day, I think she finds comfort in them and I’m more than happy to help if I can.

“Of course, I do girl, mine or yours?” I make sure to sound chirpy as I find it’s the best way to deal with her when she’s feeling crap.

“Well, I’m by yours now if that’s ok?” I tell her to get her butt inside and nudge Jack awake quickly telling him about Bethany. My mate is a sweetheart he doesn’t even complain about me waking him, this is the first time she has asked for a sleepover late so we both know she must need it so we quickly put on pyjama bottoms just in time for her knocking on the bedroom door.

“Hi Bethany, Jack is all smiles as he greets her and it just reminds me of how much of a good man he is.

“Hi, Jack, I didn’t know I had woken you guys up, I’m so sorry, I can go back to mine, I don’t mind.”

“Absolutely not! Nights free of his snoring a*s are rare believe me!” He rolls his eyes at Bethany making her laugh then he looks at me with a wink before blowing me a k**s and heading for the lounge.

“Get your bum in here baby girl we have films to watch!” She dives on the bed and we quickly get comfy in bed and put the movie grease on, this always cheers her up and 10 minutes later Jack walks into the room with hot chocolates and munchies before saying goodnight.

I love this guy he’s honestly incredible. We spend the next 1 hour and 50 minutes singing our hearts out, no talking just having fun before finally she crashes out and I’m quick to follow, we can chat in the morning if she wants to, either way, I hope tonight has helped her because I hate seeing her sad.

Finally, I’m back where I belong, my packhouse, mine! And even better all the work has been finished and my own personal touches have been added. It has been a long road but finally, I have everything I’m owed there’s just one thing missing now then everything will be perfect and that’s, my mate…

…There’s just one problem with that since I learned that Sarah was my mate, I can’t get her out of my head, since I slept with her, I can’t get her body out of my mind and every time I think about her my heart picks up pace f**k!

I force all thoughts of her out of my mind and try and focus on my Bethany, her beauty, her laugh, and knowing that she will be absolutely perfect for me and as my Luna but then a stark reality sets in. When I think of Bethany now, I don’t see my Luna anymore, I don’t see a future with her, I see my sister’s best friend, I see someone else’s mate. f**k’s sake!

I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with this now but I do know I regret our plan; you see the deal was we remain mates and help each other out until the plan was finished. We paid the dark witch Elaina to make us spells, one for Sarah that she could use on Beta

Liam that would make him believe he’s her mate then once they were mated and marked I would step in with my potion, a potion that would have Bethany at my beck and call, enough that she would want to return to this pack, one that could give me the time with her until she’s of age and then I’d make her my Luna but now, well now I’m not so sure about any of this.

*Knock knock*

“Come in!” I’m not in the mood for visitors right now but then the door opens slowly and in walks Sarah, my mate, and my f*****g heart starts pounding! What the f**k is wrong with me? Wait something must be wrong, she doesn’t usually just turn up like this.

“Sarah, what’s wrong?” She looks at me with a weird expression before finally speaking.

“Somethings wrong with the spell!” She makes her way over to my desk and takes a seat across from me and it takes everything in me not to check her out.

“Why, what’s happened?”

“I don’t know, I mean the sparks are there and he’s nice to me now but we’ve only kissed. I’ve tried seducing him but he doesn’t seem interested, he doesn’t even undress or shower around me. This isn’t how it should be, this isn’t how mates act, I don’t think the spell is strong enough!”

“I don’t understand, Elaina said it was full proof even on a high ranking wolf!” I quickly realize that I’m f*****g relieved that it’s not working, and my world comes crashing down around me as I realize I don’t want Bethany as my Luna anymore, I want my true mate, I want Sarah!

“Maybe it’s a sign!” She looks at me like I’ve lost my mind and I know this won’t be an easy battle but when have I ever been afraid of a battle.

“For what?”

“Maybe…maybe we should abandon the plan, maybe we should listen to the moon goddess and be together Sarah. I want you as my mate, my partner, my Luna, and my love, Sarah, I want us to accept each other!”

She lets out a startled gasp at my words but doesn’t speak, she just stares at me with an unreadable expression and I quickly get a sinking feeling deep in my stomach.

20 minutes later and I’m sitting in my office on my own, Sarah hated the idea of us accepting each other, she can’t see past that f*****g Beta. I don’t understand it, I’m her true mate and of higher ranking, why wouldn’t she want me?

She’s gone back to him but this isn’t the end, it looks like I will have to fight to get my mate again and I will get my mate, my Luna, only this time I’m fighting for my true mate and there’s nothing I won’t do to have her.
