Chapter 67

Bethany

After we managed to pause the kissing, we enjoyed the picnic that Liam had arranged and it was beautiful but I’m getting distracted by all the questions that are swarming my head, that and wanting to climb back into Liam’s lap and k**s the s**t out of him.

Once we’ve finished, we decide to head back to the packhouse so we can talk with the others, Liam links our fingers as we walk back and I feel shy and nervous about seeing everyone but I’m also incredibly proud to have Liam as my mate and I want everyone to see.

He doesn’t seem to care who sees us as he tightens his hold on my hand rather than letting it go as we step inside.

We head for the stairs to go to my floor when we cross paths with Jake, he gives me a friendly smile but I don’t miss Liam tensing up next to me nor do I miss the low growl he lets out.

“Wait…is that why you didn’t like Jake?”

“He’s wanted you from the very first time he saw you, he still does now!” He growls out. Instead of saying anything I press a gentle k**s to his lips and feel him instantly relax, we carry on up the stairs until we arrive at the Alpha lounge and my nerves kick back in.

We step inside and the place is full, Brooke and Cal are here with Bella, Levi, and Cami and Jack and Ashley are here with Willow they start clapping and cheering us the moment they see us and I feel the effects of my embarrassment burn my cheeks.

Liam lets out a chuckle from beside me before he wraps his arm around my waist pulling me into him and placing a gentle k**s on my temple.

“I’m so happy for you guys!” Brooke gives us both a side hug as Cami sleeps in her arms and it starts off a trend as everyone takes it in turns congratulating us with hugs, even the kids join in, not that they have a clue what’s going on.

Cal, Jack, and Liam head for the kitchen to make coffees while I take a seat in the last free chair and I swear to the moon goddess I actually miss him, he’s only a few feet away and I can see him but I miss him! How is that even possible?

“He misses you too!” Ellie chimes in my head and I’m instantly swooning.

“How are you feeling sweetheart? I can’t imagine how crazy this must be for you!” Brooke’s beaming smile keeps me relaxed and I’m just glad that everyone is happy for us.

“I think I’m still in shock, this is so surreal, I have so many questions swarming around my head but I don’t even know where to start! I still can’t believe he knew all this time, that you all knew!”

“He needed us to know so we could help him and he knew his behaviour wouldn’t be normal and that we’d notice, I hope you’re not mad at anyone, it really couldn’t be any other way!”

“I’m not mad at anyone Brooke, in fact, I’m glad he had you guys to help him because I can’t imagine what he’s been through!” Before any more can be said the guys return putting the coffees on the table.

Cal scoops Brooke up and places her in his lap and Jack and Ashley soon follow, Liam walks up to my chair and stops in front of me, he gives me his cheeky smile and wink before he picks me up and sets me in his lap.

Maybe I should feel shy around everyone but I don’t, I don’t care, I want to be close to my mate all the time, and thank goddess he seems to feel the same way.

“I can’t believe how well you guys kept this from me!” I never suspected a thing.

Cal: Oh Bethany believe me when I say it wasn’t easy, there were so many times that you came close to finding out, so many times we had to cover his a*s!”

Liam: Too many times! I hated that I had to hide it from you, we all did but it’s just how it had to be!” I give him a reassuring smile so he knows it’s ok, I get why they had to do it and I’m not mad.

Ashley: “The first time you destroyed your office I thought it would come out!”

“That was because of me?” I had no idea!

Liam: “Do you remember the day it happened? I came into the games room and you were there?”

“Yes I do, Jake was teaching me to play pool and you came in but you had a strange look on your face…oh!”

Liam: “I was already having a bad day, struggling with everything, I came to look for you to help calm myself down but then I saw

Jake all over you ”Teaching you” And I lost it!”

“Wait, when you smashed up your floor last year?”

Liam: “Yeah that was because of the situation too but that was a little different…!” He gives me a strange look but then links me telling me he’ll tell me another time when we’re on our own, it makes me want to know what it is more but I’ll wait until he’s ready.

Brooke: “Bethany Liam has been so incredible throughout all of this, from the moment you arrived he’s always made sure you were safe, protected and looked after in every possible way even when it had to look like someone else was doing it, he never complained, as long as you were happy, he was too!”

Ashley: “Yeah you’re lucky I love you baby girl because I don’t like to share, you are the only person I will ever happily share my

Liam with!” Everyone bursts out laughing and my stomach flips when I hear Liam’s laugh, it’s the most beautiful sound in the world.

Ashley: But seriously he has always put you, first baby girl!”

Brooke: “The chocolates, ice cream, and magazines when you’ve had your periods… that was Liam, he’d go out and buy them then I’d give them to you!” I look at my mate and I’m beaming.

Cal: “All your financial care since the day you came here, that’s been Liam too, he wouldn’t let us pay for anything no matter how much we tried, all the shopping trips, the France trip, your school fees all him!” Cal looks so proud as he speaks but I’m speechless I had no idea.

“Why would you do all that?” I turn in his lap to see him and I can feel tears trying to break free from the wholeness I feel filling my heart!

Liam: “Because it’s my job baby, there wasn’t much I could do for you without you knowing but that was something I could do, I’m your mate and your care whether it’s keeping you safe or looking after you financially is my responsibility!” There’s no cockiness to him as he answers me just his usual caring self and it makes my heart flutter.

Ashley: “Ok beautiful ladies I know there’s still loads to talk about but I do believe we have a ball to get ready for!” s**t the ball! Everyone’s face shows that I’m not the only one who forgot.

Me Brooke and Ashley make a run for our rooms to shower while the men are left with the children and already I want to be back on Liam’s lap, f**k will I ever get bored of his touch?

Beta Liam

15 minutes, it’s only been 15 minutes since Beth went into her bedroom to get showered and already I’m missing her, Jonah constantly telling me that she is in the shower without me isn’t helping me one bit and he knows it!

“Beth, link me when you’re out of the shower baby!” f**k it I’m seeing her before I leave! To my f*****g delight she links me straight back letting me know she’s just got out and I waste no time in getting my a*s to her door and she shouts me in before I’ve even knocked, I forget how well she knows me sometimes. I walk in and she’s standing by her bed with a towel wrapped around her body, a fuckin towel that stops above her knees, f**k!

I stop by the door and admire her when all I want to do is rip that towel away from her body and show her how much I love her.

“Everything ok?” Her angel voice pulls me out of my dirty thoughts and I quickly realize that I’ve been standing here checking her out and it’s clear she noticed as she stands there with a shy sexy smile on her face.

“Yeah, I just wanted to see you before I leave.”

“Where are you going?” Why does she sound a little panicked?

“Down to my floor to get ready beautiful.”

She tries to cover it but I see the relief on her face and it makes me smile to know I’m not the only one struggling with the idea of being apart. I move closer to her and lose all control as I pull her to me and k**s her with everything I have, it’s not the gentle sweet k**s we shared earlier it’s raw with my need for her.

The moment I realize what I’m doing and try to pull back not to rush her she wraps her arms around my neck and deepens the k**s, even more, f**k the things she does to me!

I’m not sure how long we stay there but soon I break the k**s, we both need air and I need to control myself before I push her too far. She looks up to me and bites her bottom l*p and an involuntary g***n leaves my mouth, does she even realize how f*****g hot she looks when she does that?

“I know this is all new and I don’t want to rush you but I just wanted to let you know that as soon as you are ready my floor will become our floor, I don’t mind if you want to wait a while but the moment you’re ready to live with me tell me and I will personally pack your stuff, move it and unpack it for you!”

Her cute giggles echo around the room and bring a beaming smile to my face, if I had my way she’d already be moved in with me but I don’t want to rush her, she’s had a lot to take in today. I force myself to k**s her goodbye and head for my floor to get ready and already I’m wishing the hours away until I see her again.

Thankfully between getting ready and playing with the children time passes pretty quick and soon enough I’m standing at the bottom of the stairs with Cal and Jack waiting for the girls and Ashley to grace us with their presence.

“How you doing brother?” Jack’s concern is genuine and I’ll always be thankful for the help he’s given me over the last 3 years, for the help everyone has given me.

“I’m ok, nervous and excited all at once and I can’t wait to see her!” Before he has a chance to replay the sounds of laughter bring my attention to the top of the stairs as they head our way

Brooke and Ashley come down first followed by Katie and my girl and the moment I see her my f*****g heart stops. Has she always been this beautiful? How the f**k have I got through these last 3 years? Our eyes meet and the smile she gives me weakens my knees and I swear I’ve never seen anything so beautiful!

Both Brooke and Ashley join their men and Katie disappears from my view, I block them all out and all I can see is my girl, my mate. We’ve had many balls and parties since she’s been here but I’ve always had to stand back and admire her from afar, but not today, today the whole world will know she’s my mate and I couldn’t be any more proud to have her at my side. I step up to her but before I can do or say anything we get interrupted by the one person I’d happily kill right now.

“Wow Bethany you look amazing, would you allow me the honor of escorting you to the ball?” Is he f*****g serious? This will be Jake’s last night on earth if he tries this s**t again! I feel a rumble of anger in my chest and Beth must sense it because she takes my hand in hers, interlocks our fingers, and gently strokes the back of my hand with her thumb before she turns her attention to that prick.

“Thank you Jake, that’s a very kind offer but my mate Liam will be escorting me!” I’m f*****g beaming like a kid in a toy shop at her calling me her mate out loud, I wasn’t sure how she wanted to do this, how she wanted people to find out but clearly she doesn’t care who knows or how they know and it’s f*****g music to my ears!

I swallow back a laugh at the look on Jake’s face but before any more can be said Katie grabs his arm and starts pulling him towards the ballroom.

“You look absolutely incredible princess!” I whisper in her ear and I’m giddy with delight as I feel a shiver run through her body, She looks up to me, the pink gracing her cheeks just adding to her beauty and I feel myself melt like a f*****g teenage boy!

“Thank you, you look amazing too!” I place a gentle k**s on her lips and gently tug her hand as I walk her towards the ball and our first evening together as a mated couple, f**k I am one lucky wolf!
