Chapter 19

I woke up feeling exhausted. There was a mild burning between my legs and if it wasn't quenched, it would turn into an inferno. I reached for Thane but his spot was empty. I felt guilty for keeping him awake all through the night.

I woke up with intense burnings between my legs during the night and he helped me relieve my ache each time I reached for him.

He stepped out of the bathroom, a towel hung low on his hips. I licked my lips unconsciously and let out a low moan. His nostrils flared as he took in my scent. He got into bed and I reached for him. He placed me on his laps and caressed my hair. I purred and leaned into his chest, flicking his nipple with my tongue. He groaned lowly and squeezed my waist. I felt the pinch of a needle on my hands and tensed. "Shhh" he laid me down on the bed gently. I looked at him in confusion.

"If I have to pleasure you one more time, I'll have to fuck you. And you're not ready for that" my vision blurred and I struggled to stay awake.

"Sleep" that command dulled my senses and I succumbed to sleep.

When I woke up, I felt disoriented. I sat up and the room was spinning. I managed Togo into the bathroom and pee. When I came out, Jairus was with a cart in the room.

"You must be hungry" my stomach grumbled in response. He chuckled and placed a tray on the bed. I gobbled everything quickly. Not finishing anything but eating everything. I took a glass of water and burped. Kyros cane in a few minutes later with Thane behind him. He smiled warmly at me and checked my vitals.

"You'll need a lot of bed rest for the next two days and a lot of water."

"Two days? I feel like I rested enough plus the duel is in two weeks"

Jairus shook his head. "A week"

"But...."

"You were out for a week" a week? A whole bloody week?

"What happened" I directed my question to nobody in particular.

"I'll leave the alpha to explain" Kyros packed up his things and headed straight for the door.

"Well?"

"You went into heat"

"I'm a halfbreed"

"Who is mated to the Lycan king" that explains it. The intense burning and the unquenchable craving for release. Everything that had to do with him always went overboard. But why a week?

"I put you on sedatives" it was the first time he had spoken since he came into the room. I was thankful that whatever happened to me the previous week had stopped because I was no longer creaming my panties whenever he spoke. Don't get me wrong, his voice made me wet but during the heat, I had mini orgasms whenever I heard him talk.

I stared at his devilishly handsome face. Sculpted to perfection and I remembered I was mad at him. I stood up from the bed and wobbled on my feet. Jairus steadied me and I thanked me.

"Where the fuck are you going?"

"To my room" I stated in a duh tone. "Stay here"

"I don't want to"

"I'm not asking" he said through gritted teeth. I muttered under my breath and laid back on the bed. Jairus kissed my forehead and said he'll be back later. Thane approached his bed and I turned to face the wall. He got into bed behind me but didn't pull me into his chest. I heard the sound of keys so I assumed he was typing. I fell asleep listening to him type.

I spent the rest of the day and the next day in bed. Lily and Althea came to see me but at different times. Nala, Valdus and Noir also showed up but Thane told them I was asleep. Jairus came to pick me up on the third day.

We used the in-house gym for the training. I ran laps around the gym until I was panting in exhaustion. I threw punches and kicks at a dummy he got for me. The next day, he brought out some play swords for practice. He positioned me in a stance and just as we were about to start, Eridian came through the door.

"You came" he nodded stiffly. I looked between the two of them. Jairus threw his play sword and Eridian caught it in his hands.

"What's going on?"

"I asked Eridian to come teach you sword fighting"

"What for? You're here"

"He's better at it"

"Thane said...."

"What did he say little kitten? To stay away from me? Is he scared I'll take you away from him"

"Cut it out uncle."

"I'm not comfortable with him" I said turning to Jairus.

"It's fine. I'll be here with you the entire time"

"What if Thane finds out"

"He won't. Now you two begin training. I'll watch from over there" he went to relax on a chair while I turned to Eridian who had a large smirk on his face.

"Come on" we moved to the centre of the gym and he positioned the sword correctly in my hands.

"Do whatever feels right" he raised his sword to strike and I instinctively held out my own.

"Nice" he sent hits my way but I couldn't dodge them all.

"Attack me" I went after him but he blocked all my strikes.

"Too slow" we carried on like this for about an hour until I collapsed in exhaustion.

"No more. No more" I wheezed trying to catch my breath.

"If you want to win this, you're gonna have to try harder than that" I huffed in annoyance and stomped out of the room slamming the door in my wake.

Well forgive me if I wasn't trying hard. I was a fucking half breed. Were they seriously expecting me to defeat a she wolf? Besides, the male I was fighting for didn't even want me.

I saw Thane in the hallway as I was about to enter my room. His face contorted in anger as he neared me. He sniffed my clothes and stormed off, fuming in anger. I sniffed my dress, did I smell bad?
