***Three months later****

KAIRA POV

It’s been three months since scarlet started living with us and a week since she fell sick.

Last week she just came back from school complaining about being tired and having a headache since then she has been in pain whimpering every night and her temperature rising. We have called the best doctors but non has given us a clear answer.

“Maybe she is going to shift?” Kaden said. We were both in her room taking care of her she has been so weak she isn’t even able to get out of bed.

” Shift into what?” I asked.

“You know since she is an Angel and tomorrow is going to be her sixteenth birthday, maybe she will get her wings..” I sighed

” I hope you are right. We had promised Serene that we would take care of her baby what will we do if something happens to her.?” I was on the verge of crying.

“Don’t worry Kaira nothing will happen to her she will be fine look in just an hour it will be midnight let’s just wait and see what happens okay?” he kissed my forehead then went and sat on the couch while I lay on the bed next to Scarlet.

“Zane..” she whimpered I touched her forehead and her body temperature was very high.

“She is burning up!” I said worriedly Kaden gave me the wet towel and I put it on her forehead to reduce the temperature a bit. It went on until—

“Aaah!!” she screamed in pain startling me

“What’s happening?” I asked Kaden my tears now flowing

“She is shifting come on let’s take her outside..” He said lifting her bridal style running down the stairs.

” Mom, what’s going on?” Lucas and Breana burst through the door Dean and Melissa too.

“Scarlet is shifting!” I said grabbing my phone and calling Zane

“She is shifting?” Melissa asked.

“Yes, she is getting her wings! come on..” we all ran downstairs out to the garden where Scarlet was laying on the grass screaming.

“Mom hello?” Zane answered

“Press video call Scarlet is shifting..” I said excitedly.

” What? what do you–“

“Press video call now Zane!” I said he did as told and I turned the camera facing Scarlet who was laying on the grass

She screamed again and a white blinding light engulfs her we all shielded our eyes from the scene and only looked when we heard a poof sound.

“Wow!!” Lucas and Brea said at the same time as we looked at the real-life Angel in awe

He wings were as white as snow with her blonde hair looking golden swaying beautifully to the rhythm of the wind. Her clothes had completely changed to a silver gown that shined under the moonlight she looked perfect levitating!!

“Wow, I need a picture!!” Zane said.

“Gotcha bro! already took one..” Lucas said waving his phone in front of the camera.

She slowly started coming down then fell on the grass.

“What happened to her?” Zane asked.

“The shifting has probably drained most of her strength..” Kaden said.

“What will we do about her wings we just can’t get her inside like this since they are b–” before I could even finish her wings disappeared. “Never mind!” I said as everyone chuckled.

“I wish I was there in person..” Zane said and I could hear the sadness in his voice.

“Don’t worry Zane you will see her soon. love you good night..” I said cutting the call. We all went back inside and Kaden lay Scarlet on the bed

She now slept soundly without whimpering or having a high fever.

Both Kaden and I kissed her forehead.

” I miss you.!” He began pulling me closer planting k****s on my mark.

“Kaden..” I said pushing him away softly.

” what baby it’s been almost a week. Look Angel is better now see she is sleeping soundly..” he said pulling me so that my back was pressed against his front. While we looked at my sweet Angel who was sleeping soundly.

” come on baby it won’t be long I need you! I want you. I promise we will come back to her room afterward..” he said planting k****s on my neck. I can never resist this.

I looked at Scarlet one last time then nodded my head.

Kaden gave me a big smile picking me up bridal style going to our room!

SCARLET

I woke up feeling like a train just hit me. my whole body was sour. I g*****d softly getting up.

Mother was laying next to me fast asleep while Dad was laying on the couch uncomfortably. I smiled. I knew everything that was happening I could hear everything whenever I woke up but couldn’t open my eyes and I also know I have been unconscious for a week and two days. I missed my birthday.

I got up pulling the covers so that Mother was covered nicely then did the same to Dad.

I went over and open the balcony doors a cool breeze entering the room

It was dark outside. I smiled gazing at the stars especially the one that always shines brightly before the break of dawn. It reminded me of my Mom I miss her so much!

I love you Mom I whispered. A cool breeze engulfed me making me feel warm my Mom was here with me. I sighed in content holding my necklace the one she gave me on our last night together.

I yawn going back into the room. I was Hella hungry but I didn’t want to wake up Mother and Dad since they have been awake most of the week taking care of me. I went into my bathroom brushed my teeth took a shower then went downstairs to make some breakfast well since it was three-thirty in the morning. I looked around trying to find something that I could make for myself but ended up getting the eggs tomatoes and bread

I was about to crack the eggs when–

“Angel you are awake!?” I heard Mom’s voice I looked at her as she and Dad entered the kitchen.

“Why didn’t you wake us up? We could have made breakfast for you..” Dad said.

“No, it’s fine. You guys need to rest don’t worry I can—“

“no! no! not having it sit down and I will make it…” Mom grabbed the eggs from me while Dad got the pancake mix in less than twenty minutes my breakfast was done. Pancakes with the simple egg sandwich I wanted to make earlier.

” Thanks..” I smiled grabbing the sandwich eating it happily while they ate the pancakes. We made small talk till I felt sleepy again. It was only five-thirty

“I am going to bed now..” I said getting up.

” you want me to come with you.?” Mom asked.

” No Mom it’s fine I am all better now don’t worry I just want to take a nap..”

” but–” she started saying but I cut her off.

” look mother dearest see.” I said twirling around, ” I’m all better now. You need to have some rest too. Both of you, now good night or is it good morning..?” I said and they both laughed.

“Okay if you say so..” She responded while I ran upstairs to my room. As soon as I entered the room I removed my flip-flops and fell on the bed pulling up the comforter and was out like a light.
