In comparison, Cameron was much calmer. Raising a brow, he asked, "You're finally admitting to it?"

"No! No, she was just blabbering nonsense. Cameron, don't take her words seriously!" In a panic, Maria cried as she pulled on Rhea's arm, explaining further, "You know how stubborn Ree can be. She's just mad at her dad! How could she have poisoned Anastasia? There must be some misunderstanding here..."

That was what Maria said, but truth be told, she was losing confidence. 'Could it be those herbal plants? Is that why Anastasia moved all of them away and said she gifted them to someone else? It seems that she had been wary of us since then."

With that thought in mind, she looked at Anastasia. "Tasia, who told you that you were poisoned by the herbal plants? Was it Lily?"

Maria assumed so, as Anastasia had been in frequent contact with Lily only recently. "I've told you that she's not a good influence on you. How could you listen to the things she said? It might not have been the herbal plants that affected you. If she's right, why were you the only one poisoned? Look at your dad. He's fine, isn't he?"

"My dad isn't home most of the time. I'm sure you're well aware of that, Aunt Maria," Anastasia responded lightly.

"What about the servants in your house..."

Before Maria finished her words, Anastasia interjected, as if she knew what Maria was about to say. "The servants don't work here for a long time either, with five years being the longest duration of their service. Plus, I was young back then, and I'm naturally weaker than the adults.

"That's why I was more sensitive to the toxins. Rhea most likely did her research and planned for the types of herbal plants to be sent to me on a regular basis to induce the effects she desired."

With that, she looked at Rhea, her voice still soft. "I'm sure you've put a lot of effort into this because of me, Rhea."

Rhea just sneered. She said nothing, not even denying the claims.

This sight of her made Maria's heart drop even more. She knew everything she said now would sound like an excuse. Hence, she turned to Rhea and tried to make her kneel on the ground. "Ree, apologize to Uncle Cameron now. Tell him that you were young and you didn't know what you were doing.

"Tell him that you were just a teenage girl and you were immature back then! Apologize to him quickly!" As she spoke, she kneeled on the ground first while she struggled to bring Rhea to her knees. However, Rhea was stubborn and was still unwilling to admit she was wrong.

The chaotic scene irritated Cameron, making him rebuke sternly, "Enough! Don't try to get out of this by saying that she was young back then. Tasia is suffering from chronic poisoning! It's because of something Rhea has done over the years continuously, and not just due to something she did once or twice!

"Fine, she was just a teenage girl back then, but what about now? Is she still the immature girl she was back then? She's merely vicious!" While pointing at Rhea, Cameron concluded the situation. Soon, Fabian kneeled too. His face was pale, drained of all color. At this moment, he finally understood how serious the matter was. "Cameron, it's my fault for not teaching her well, but could you forgive her this time? She's my late sister's only niece, after all. If she went to prison, her life would be over!"

As he said, he put his hands together to plead with Cameron.

Upon hearing that, Maria got an idea and nodded. "Yeah! Cameron, Ree can't go to prison! That would be the end of her life! Could you forgive her? I've taken care of Anastasia for so many years and have even put in so much effort to cure her sickness. Could you forgive her for the sake of the things I've done for Anastasia?"

Maria was begging Cameron with her hands as well.

Cameron frowned. While the two were begging him, Rhea was standing next to them with a cold expression, saying nothing at all.

"If Rhea hadn't been so evil as to poison Tasia, you wouldn't need to find a miracle doctor for her at all. Are you saying that I should thank the two of you right now?" Cameron mocked. He did not think that there was anything he should thank Fabian and Maria for in this matter.
